Peter Kazmierczak
70020 approaches Southampton Central with yesterday's 06.12 Leeds - Soton MCT Freightliner. As the train was only 5 mins down (and there was no major late running shown on Realtimetrains), I assume the inclusion of 66532 behind the Cl.70 was a planned loco move.

RMweb Premium DRS Crewe On A Mission Posted September 17, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 17, 2015 Yes I spotted it yesterday on Leeds Midland Road when passing on the train at around 12:40. It was parked at the front of the depot. I was very happy seeing it as I didn't know that it was there and it was the first ever Colas Rail 70 I have seen. I have to say they look very smart! Pleased that Bachmann have plans to produce 70805
Powerhaul 70 Pey
Here's a couple of Freightliner Class 70 container trains running to and from Garston Freightliner Terminal in Liverpool passing Acton Bridge on the West Coast Mainline this sunny morning. Not a bad haul of class 70's for a two hour period.

Do you know if the 70 is coming off at any point or going all the way to chirk?

Powerhaul 70 Pey
Excellent news, I hope I get chance to see it. How come colas have decided to put a 70 on it? Will you be the driver at any point next week and do you still stop at warrington for a crew change?

Powerhaul 70 Pey
Finally managed to see Colas Rail 70805 on the Carlisle to Chirk log train. I decided not to go to my local station Wigan but go to Warrington where there is usually a crew change. It was just a matter of which line through the station it would take. I was hoping for the goods loop as I would probably have preferred the photos of the train on that line but it briefly stopped at platform 2 for a quick crew change, then off it went with plenty of clag sounding well. 70805 slowly comes into the station Quick crew change And with plenty of clag off to Chirk Many thanks to Big Jim for the for the information regarding the 70 being on this train for a few days.
RMweb Premium Phil Mc Posted October 15, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 15, 2015 70006, at Ipswich last night. Other 70's in the area were 009, 011 & 013. Cheers, Phil.
Powerhaul 70 Pey
Unfortunately it looks as though the Carlisle/Chirk log train being Class 70 hauled has come to an end for now and reverted back to Class 60 haulage. I did, however, in the time it has been Class 70 hauled manage to get some photos of the train in the goods loop at Warrington Bank Quay. Last Friday 9/10/2015 the train was some 40 minutes early arriving at Warrington and I was walking to the station as it pulled in. I thought I was going to miss it but it stayed parked in the loop until just after 18:00 so was an ideal time to grab some photos.
RMweb Premium DRS Crewe On A Mission Posted November 23, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 23, 2015 For anyone wanting any of the Freightliner 70s for sight or for photos Leeds Midland Road is currently the place to be. 70004, 70005, 70006, 70007, 70013, 70015, 70018, 70020 according to TOPS were present on the depot at 06:00 this morning. So that's 8 in total, 9 if you include 70008 working to Leeds FLT. At 15:40 I sighted 70005, 70006, 70013 and 70015 from a passing train and two more were in the new sidings next to the wheel lathe shed. 66416 in it's recently applied Powerhaul livery was also present. Hope this helps.
