SWT442
Good to see everyones Colas pictures popping up! Attached are two from me from last week. First up is 70804 trundling through Denchworth with its 3 Ospreys in tow working 6M50 Westbury to Bescot. 04.03.2014 And to break the Colas theme, a shot of 70020 opening up at Didcot Parkway after being given the Green with 4O51 Wentloog to Southampton. Quite an impressive amount of black for a fairly new loco! Andy.
RMweb Premium newbryford Posted March 10, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 10, 2014 Quite an impressive amount of black for a fairly new loco! Andy. The 70's are pretty good for clag. Dunno if it's something to do with emission regs, but my newer, low emission diesel car is a better clagger (when foot put down) than it's predecessor with a slightly less modern and higher emission diesel engine. RMweb Premium Banger Blue Posted March 11, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 11, 2014 (edited) Caught 6M50 today with 70802 leading 70805. Camera battery decided to die on me, the charge icon was showing green this morning when I checked some previous pics, decided it had no charge when I came to actually take a pic Had to resort to a vid taken on my iPhone: Edited March 11, 2014 by Banger Blue

JeffP
Can I ask why only about half the wagons were full?
RMweb Gold big jim Posted March 12, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 12, 2014 just the way the flows work, they were probably en route to be refilled at the virtual quarry in bescot after depositing the previous load somewhere on the western, the full wagons may have been spoil going north to be reclaimed or whatever they do with it! RMweb Premium newbryford Posted March 19, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) All the colas 70s were on Westbury this dinner time! it's the place to be at the moment. Finally found a pic that (I think) shows the difference in front yellow panels - It may just be the lighting, but I'm fairly convinced. 70801 with a nice bright warning panel and 70805 in the background with the paler yellow, similar to the Freightliner 70's http://www.flickr.com/photos/16023026@N04/13201483423/in/photolist-m7z46a-m7zbwn-m7z6ne-m7zbGH-mbAWRv-mbCG2W-mbCFZb-mbBHt4-mbBHtV-m5ECfQ-m5DgQ4-kEBhKi-kKkrXZ-kEBGk2-kNpZ76-mbFfop-kAvZeQ-m7zYeW-m7zcix-m7zcQe-m7z6tM-m7z42x-m7yksx-m7zcwD-m7yuPD-m7A1A9-m7A9BE-m7A9Py-m7zZCC-m7yuAT-m7z3Xp-m7zZ77-kzFSxa Cheers, Mick Edited March 19, 2014 by newbryford

RMweb Gold big jim Posted March 20, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 20, 2014 Is anyone EVER going to use a new loco herein the east? I'm so sick of 66's...... you may well get one on the colas redcar - llanwern coke turn at some point, again its a case of getting the drivers trained up at present the coal wagons do bristol-ratcliffe-bristol monday to friday then saturday morning they leave ratcliffe and head north to redcar with the same loco (66848 this week) so logistically when a 70 appears on the circuit it will also stay on throughout too
