It's great to have the Leicester City of last season back again and Lady Luck back on our side, which is always useful in a knockout competition. Last season's first choice XI (Kante excepted) playing 4-4-2 and doing the limited range of simple things they do very well with not much possession, lots of fight,energy. and backs to the wall defending in a hostile bear pit of a stadium. If only Ranierii hadn't chucked last season's successful blueprint completely in the bin and hadn't tinkered .... and tinkered,,,,and tinkered again, he could have been sitting at Europe's high table with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern, et al with his little old Leicester City. and waiting for Friday's Champions League Quarter Final Draw..... Just need a decent away result against the Hammers on Saturday now and I'll believe we've finally turned the corner in the Premier League.too. Yes, Claudio Ranieri is a thoroughly decent man and did an incredible job last season, but the only way they were going this time around was down. A good win for Oldham against my team Oxford Utd last night, our already slim chance of making the play-offs seems to have gone now. Still, after promotion last season, I'm happy with consolidation this season, and we still have a Wembley Cup Final to look forward to. Sadly it doesn't say much for the strength in depth of the Premier League, when Leicester City's bunch of journeymen with one game plan were able to win the Premier League by clear 10 points last season,and have now reached the last eight of the Champions League, despite being in a Ranieri induced collective coma until very recently, outlasting the "big guns" of Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City. With only eight teams left in it, 33/1 should be decent odds. But with five matches to play well in, I agree with you that it's a bit mean. That said, bookies odds are the result of money being placed, so some punters are clearly going for it. There's a bloke in Cheltenham who needs to lay about £15,000 at those odds to make back what he lost on a favourite yesterday.
