More confirmed jabs given to under-60s around here who have no significant medical conditions nor are they frontline workers. Online booking not possible - refused as my DoB falls outside preset parameters. A call to 119 was met with a terse “This number is for tests not vaccinations” despite it being widely advertised as the point of contact for those unable to book online. It is now 14 months since I attended West Middlesex Hospital and was to be reviewed in three months. Three re-referrals from the GP have brought no response at all. I need urgent specialist advice which is at least 11 months overdue and which a GP cannot provide. Yes I know there’s a ruddivirus going around but I am losing patience with the local NHS services - or lack thereof - as even a simple “sorry but we’ll see you when we can” would be something. She is ten years my junior and nowhere near the age groups currently prioritised. She works from home: I work on the front line as a transport worker. Aditi did all of them. Aditi said the nearest person to her was showing the reception a text. The reference number they need is in the text. The reference number and NHS number are all that is needed. Aditi thought people who were health and social care workers were asked additional questions. Aditi was there due to age not occupation. The list of conditions is now longer and GPs are contacting those who now “qualify”. However Aditi’s email doesn’t say why she had been added, we don’t think it is due to living in deprivation! She thinks probably BMI, though not as high as the chap who got offered a vaccine due to his BMI being something like 28000 after his height had been entered as 6.2 cm. DoB and NHS number were apparently not enough and it insisted there were no records of me. On the third attempt it agreed I do in fact exist. It also refused to allow me a Covid jab and had no option to input any special circumstances Computer says no. We shall see what the next few days bring. I shall have words with the GP surgery and SWMBO will have words with the jabbing venue to see whether I might be done with her. I shall have to accompany her anyway. Sleep is required. A few bit of memorabilia turned up, the next picture is dedicated to @polybear. The event was the Birmingham Walkathon, a charity walk held annually in those days following the route of the Birmingham Outer Circle bus. It is about 26 miles long +/- half a mile depending on whose measurements you follow and was the course of a marathon Road Walking Race which took place from before WW2 to the 1960s. The Walkathon was split up into sections between parks each about 3 miles long and you could start and finish at the nearest one to where you lived and complete as many sections as you wanted. When you booked in you collected your badge then got your sponsorship form stamped at each checkpoint. That entitled you to a free brew at each refreshment stop. You could also pick up a free hot chocolate on passing Cadburys factory.
