RMweb Premium Popular Post J. S. The show host even had commemorative masks made: The person pictured is Steve Blair, he passed away several years ago. He was the one who started the Mid-Ohio Insulator Show and worked it up to the best insulator show in the US (maybe the world) so we have a toast to Steve every year. this year the bottle showed a Jack Daniels (black) label but I think that NASA had something to do with the contents! Whooo, that stuff was strong!!!
Erichill16
I would agree, probably the best insulator show in the world. Ps. How many insulator shows are there? 7

My previous 42" tractor took about an hour and a half. With this 52" it takes about an hour. Not having to go through a complicated reversing procedure makes a big difference in wheel time. 15

Popular Post Erichill16
Evening All, Hope I haven’t offended anyone (J.S.Bach in particular) with my last post. It’s great to have hobbies as we all here do. It’s a way of getting away from the hum drum of every day life and a time for self indulgence. I got my toolbox out this evening and picked up a plastic aeroplane kit that I’d started months, well actually a couple of years ago and spent a bit of time indulging. Other than than not much to report. Picked Harry’s possessions up, had an hour with Mil and then an hour or so in the garden. So now to bed and a goodnight to you all. RMweb Gold Popular Post Tony_S Posted November 9, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted November 9, 2020 It was Monday and the gas man arrived. He came round the back of the house and entered by the door next to the boiler to help keep,a distance. I had a half hour phone consultation with a physiotherapist from the heart rehab clinic. The suggestions seemed sensible and achievable. We had a phone call with MiL. She is getting agitated about the cost of her new level of carer support. She doesn’t need to but to her it seems like a lot of money. Fortunately everyone in the family is saying the same thing to her. Aditi and I went for a walk to the postbox. Around Diwali time sisters are supposed to give their brothers some saffron and rice to mark their forehead. Brothers are supposed to buy their sister a household implement. Aditi posted some rice and saffron to her brother. She is owed over 50 years of saucepans now but she doesn’t mind. Tony 12 9

RMweb Premium Popular Post newbryford Posted November 9, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted November 9, 2020 Congrats to Dom and Mrs Dom. Local fracture clinic attended. This is me pressing one finger fairly firmly against the other. No pain, but it really shouldn't look like that. Not a lot more they can do than operate to cure the odd shape and the result is likely to be less mobility and future aches. Carry on the self-physio was their opinion. Mrs NB starts her new job tomorrow. 2 days per week with the possibility of more. 4 day week beckons. Have a good one folks. Cheers, Mick

RMweb Premium Popular Post BSW01 Posted November 10, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted November 10, 2020 Good evening everyone Well I spent most of the morning in the garden, at one point I thought I was going to have to give up as it started to rain, but that only lasted a few seconds, so I carried on. I was even able to sit outside the workshop and have my muggertea in the sunshine. The afternoon was spent in the workshop, putting the finishing touches on the figure I painted yesterday. He’s now had a small brass pin inserted and glued in one of his feet. I then drilled a hole in the deck of the bridge and the figure inserted, but it can be easily removed when track cleaning is required. The hole is small enough to almost invisible if I decide to leave the figure off, but the pin is tight enough for the bridge to be held upside down without the figure falling off. After tea the Sainsbury’s Grand Prix was undertaken. I was half expecting to find the shelves stripped bare, but was pleasantly surprised to see everything was as normal, well as normal as things can be in the current situation that we find ourselves in that is. Goodnight all 19

RMweb Premium BR60103 Posted November 10, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 10, 2020 On reporting: A few years ago, there was a presentation about possibly reducing the sales tax a few percent (or was it raising?) The assembled reporters apparenty couldn't figure out how much difference it would make on a several hundred dollar appliance. (and without having to reduce to Lsd). No telling what they'd understand about statistics. It's like stories on the railways -- given what I know about them, I often can't figure out what happened. And why was the conductor driving the train? 14 1
Popular Post chrisf
Greetings one and all, with Happy Families to Dom. On the 1 o’clock news yesterday, and also at other times, there was some distressing news about a victim of the virus. I have written before of the fine Welsh band Calan. In common with so many other bands, all their gigs were cancelled abruptly in March when they were in mid-tour in America, leaving the band members very strapped for cash and with no work in prospect. One of the band members, Beth, has been so badly affected by anxiety as a consequence of what the virus has done that she has forsaken music and gone back to teaching for the foreseeable future. There are obvious knock-on effects for the rest of the band. In addition to being a fine singer, Beth is a superb clog dancer. I can recall her dancing on a tombstone at St Pancras Old Church! The really awkward bit is that her father is the band’s manager. I fear that many more mental health issues attributable to the virus will come to light before long. It really brings it home when one of the victims is someone you know. Tonight the Hitchin Battalion of the Royal Corps of Train Spotters enters the wonderful world of Zoom. I forget the subject of the “meeting” but I know the speaker and I am as sure as I can be that it will be all right on the night. Best wishes to all Chris Edited November 10, 2020 by chrisf left something out 1
RMweb Premium Popular Post jamie92208 Posted November 10, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted November 10, 2020 Good moaning from down ere. It's gradually getting light. I was hoping for a lie in but a cold call at 07.19 from a withheld number put paid to that. Pah as Baz would say. Firstly congratulations to Dom and family. I hope that everything progresses well. Our baby was 36 yesterday so we surprised her with a video call that we all enjoyed. More jungle got cleared, about 60 % done now, hopefully some more today. The gent at the tip was very helpful in telling me whick skip, everything had to go into. Much confusion as wall tiles in France are not tiles but carrellage. Anyway shopping will be shopped this morning and after some jungle work, not a lot else. Regards tomall. Jamie
