RMweb Premium Popular Post 45156 Posted April 23, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 23, 2020 Afternoon All All posts read and rated - finally got a bank statement today, after three attempts. Generic greetings are, as ever, on offer. Not a lot more to say here, other than the walk round that block is not getting any easier - I thought it would start to do so - but them hills are as steep as ever - however, met a farmer friend who was out feeding his sheep, and had quite a long chat with him, then with Mike of the Littledale Light Railway. Back tomorrow Regards to All Stewart 19

RMweb Gold Popular Post Shedman5 Posted April 23, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted April 23, 2020 Afternoon, warm and sunny here which is very nice more so sat in the garden with no jobs to do! Other half needed a new set of wiper blades for her car and set forth to Halfords, after waiting 50 mins in the quest she gave up! Seems it was one member of staff taking your order, getting it and then taking payment. Loads of people in the queue with cycle parts they needed replacing inner tubes galore apparently! So I have ordered a set via the internet which will be with us Saturday and I will fit. No sign of rain for the next week so not a rush. Otherwise all well here starting to feel normal again and sleeping like a log at night as they say! Take care all 21

When I used to walk Robbie in the park we used to meet Del the Yorkie and his owner. Del seemed to think Robbie was in need of protection. If any any other dog gave Robbie the merest hint of aggression (not that it bothered him much, he ignored unfriendly dogs), Del would barge in showing a lot of teeth. Del also had a long list of things he didn’t like, men with hats, beards, cyclists, children, most dogs and cats, trains passing by. I suggested to his owner that it would be easier to say what didn’t annoy him. Poor dog liked me though. If he saw me he would run over and collapse at my feet wheezing with doggy asthma, Fortunately being a Yorkie, I could pick him up and return him. He was very clever and knew the names of about 50 toys. My Robbie was very good at the things spaniels are supposed to be good at! However I suspect our hamsters were brighter. 18 2
Popular Post Ian Abel
Happy anniversary to Stationmaster Mike and his bride. BIN day it is... Nothing startling to report from yesterday, sadly this morning we learnt that our friends/traveling companions (her) father died in the night. Not from the virus, sadly he was living in a care facility and managed to get up, slip and bang his head The shelter situation will complicate matters for them dealing with this. They were only over yesterday afternoon, dropping off a cake they'd made - we social distance etc., etc., but try and see each other each week if possible. We managed a nice meal last evening with me mastering a new talent, cooking "exploding rice noodles", not done it before, and it does warrant some amusement (Google will help if you're not familiar) To match newbryford post I offer this, today was rather pathetic as it was just three cars but generally varies anywhere from 3 to 20+ on this shortline. View from my home office; Sunny and 6 first thing, high of 17 expected. Enjoy the day everyone... 24

RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted April 23, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted April 23, 2020 Evenin' each, Beer o'clock after several productive hours spent in The Shed. More track and points laid and engine shed area almost complete. Now have a slight problem in that I've run out of Streamline points but still need some more for my oil storage facility. Nobody seems to have them in stock but I've ordered some and will just have to wait. I do have some old Setrack points so may use them as a temporary option. I also need to see if I've got any paint and ballast left as I'm nearing the time for using them. . Should have thought of it earlier. I'm sure there is some somewhere but I've got so many boxes full of "stuff" it may take a while to find them. I can hear loud voices and thought it was someone having a row but The Boss informs me it's a couple of neighbours "chatting" a couple of gardens apart. Not sure why they have to shout, perhaps they're deaf! Time for food soon, we're just having a salad tonight but it will of course be accompanied by some red vino. Tonight's selection is Chilean Carmenère courtesy of Messrs Laithwaite.

RMweb Gold Popular Post The Stationmaster Posted April 23, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted April 23, 2020 Now here's a an odd thing. Unlike the past two years we are spending our wedding anniversary on dry land - so we won't be having to buy a bottle of fizz to have with dinner (and share round the table) but have taken one out of the fridge instead. We wouldn't in any case have been at sea - or, more precisely this evening, in the middle of the mouth of The Wash - because this year's passenger season is was starting a week later so we didn't bother to book for the first week (before it was completely cancelled).

Serves 2 purposes. 1 it leaves a cab leading regardless. 2 redundancy if one fails far from home. 8 2
