Aditi has better things to do... Tony When I was a student, a housemate of mine decided she would make Kulfi and that involved her standing by the stove stirring a big pot while the milk evaporated. It took her most of the day. The kulfi was nice. Greetings all from LBG where it is cloudy but not raining. My cold is in full flow - at least my nose is, anyway. The wine tasting was enjoyable, a selection whites, roses and reds, one English, one French - served blind to see if you could work out which was which. If he'd done it with sparkling it might have been a bit harder. The weekend promises to be quiet. Best wishes to John as he copes. And I hope that those who are ailing, including NHN, recover their energies 7

I was so surprised at hearing his name I didn't notice which. Now that he has been on radio I must ask for his autograph next time we meet. Not only do I cheat by using evaporated milk, I also cheat by using mango pulp instead of spending ages chopping up mango. I have saved the Diwali celebrations and have obtained a coconut from Tesco. 34p, instead of the £3.00 one that Aditi’s sister now doesn’t have to order from Ocado. I didn’t forget the evaporated milk either this time. Tony

RMweb Premium TheQ Posted October 25, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 25, 2019 Afternoon awl, I didn't make like dick van dyke, I made like Al Jolson or is it Justin Trudeau? Well that's what I looked like when. Chimney sweeping part 1 was completed. The stove has an alternative chimney position on the back to which is glued a blanking plate. Or isn't because I knocked it off. This means I've had to extract the entire stove form the fire place to get at the back. Therefore I've decided to do an entire refurbish, high temperature glue and sealant have been ordered along with the glass string, and what passes for black lead to polish it all up afterwards. Preparation work was carried out.. Most of the stuff is due to arrive tomorrow, it's noticeable that the the days of Amazon even small companies are doing free? 24 hour delivery.. When I finished, Ben the, I want you to take me out Collie was giving me the big hint. So we've been for his long walk, the track down by the marshes is getting soggy, as are the adjoining fields. Added water was beginning to fall. Time for a Muggacoffee then an eyelid inspection.. 5

Popular Post Ian Abel
Morning, POETS... Yesterday another uneventful passage of time. Choir rehearsal went well, the pre-rehearsal beer(s) and pizza was especially enjoyable Jemma collected from the airport, initial reports on her first 4 days as a Delta FO sounded very good. Off to a good start... Today and this weekend SUPPOSEDLY quiet with time for whatever hobbies/enjoyment one cares for - I'm sure THAT will change As far as weather goes, our trusty local forecaster (who runs some serious national weather reporting/analyzing companies) reminded us once again that especially with SNOW predictions, anything further out than 24 or 48 hours at most, should be taken with a grain of salt. National predictions for the last couple of days were for us to get some serious snow early next week, as of today it looks like we may get a dusting at best, with almost ANY serious snow passing way north of us -2 and sunny retrieving the newspaper, 13 for the high and sunny all weekend with lows around zero and high tomorrow at 13, Sunday maybe 6! Hope your weekend starts as planned/expected/hoped for.
RMweb Premium Popular Post New Haven Neil Posted October 25, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted October 25, 2019 A'noon. Day off day. Bike club was....wet. Day is....wet. And cold. 8c tops. Lots of high grade chatter though, in good company. They're as diverse a bunch as railway modellers and talk much the same sort of stuff - ie nothing to do with the primary aspect of a meeting! Enthusiasm down in the garage after brunch didn't last long, see above 8c bit. Watched The Commitments this afternoon, haven't seen it for ages, much cheer was had. Awaiting arrival of the boss who was supposed to have a very early POETS but an aged person arrived that needed a lot of help to achieve her aim so it became PO LATE TS. Then shopping, as we have neglected to do any through the week and the fridge is a bit empty. One medication stopped today so we'll see if the batteries recharge at all. If not we'll swap to the other! 5
RMweb Premium TheQ Posted October 25, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 25, 2019 I'm back, just long enough ago to have phoned the garage.. Still no car, maybe by lunchtime tomorrow, We are however going shopping tomorrow, funnily enough , a trip including Sheringham , so a visit to a shop that used to be called autoloco maybe called for, followed by a visit to Cromer and Buoys toys. Can't show favoritism between the crabs and the lobsters. Dinner followed by a quick eyelid inspection beckons, before MRC tonight..
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted October 25, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 25, 2019 Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Still no sign of rain but rather windy. I was about to mention that Tescoes at Pitsea had the coconuts that Tony required but he'd already found them, they were in the reduced aisle. Thats it for now, be back later.

RMweb Gold tetsudofan Posted October 25, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 25, 2019 Evening all, looks as though tomorrow I may be making my first ride on a white worm..... but only a short journey from Sevenoaks to Swanley to attend EXPONG. Normally the journey from here means a trip to Ashford Intl. and then change to a Swanley train via Maidstone but when I looked at the offerings on the National Rail Planner, as well as the hourly service via Maidstone, there was a second option (on the noon train only) which involved a change of train at Sevenoaks instead of Ashford Intl. Further investigation showed that the Sevenoaks to Swanley service is provided by Thameslink and Great Northern TL so I presume this means a white worm. I'll find out tomorrow if it is a white worm. tigerburnie
Evening all, well the sore throats cleared up so lazing around doing nothing much all day does do you good...…………………………………….. We had a sharp frost earlier so after lighting the fire and filling the bird feeders I've spent the day flexing muscles ready for something, not sure what yet though. Off to Aberdeen to the clubs model show tomorrow, meeting up with a pal and hopefully get some gear for the layout, I have a list, but with Santa's visit imminent I might get in trouble if I come home heavily laden lol. 8

RMweb Premium Popular Post Dave Hunt Posted October 25, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted October 25, 2019 Having spent two and a bit weeks in a warm and generally sunny Andalucía it was 'orrible to get back to a rain soaked East Midland sea air port and make our way through a series of lakes to North Sloppyshire. Still, it probably suits our resident muddy hollow denizen. I've spent most of today speed reading/skimming the near sixty pages of ERs but haven't got round to adding likes and such so apolgies. I did catch Nat's message of concern about The Toe so thank you for that - it's healing but oh so slowly and I'm heartily fed up of being on and off antibugtastics as it's been infected about three times. Ah, well maybe soon...... The thing that caught my attention though was the decline and passing of Sandy and John's fortitude. Without wanting to open the wound again John, you have my deepest and most heartfelt sympathies as well as hope that you will find some solace in your memories. My prayers are with you. Also thoughts and prayers to Mrs. Rick, Baz, HH and NHN for their various trials and tribulations and apologies to anyone I have missed out. Now to get back to sorting out the 95 emails and pile of paper that were waiting for me on my return; mind you, not being readily contactable in the Spanish hills was a bit of a boon really. Have a good day/night/as applicable all. Dave 21 2
RMweb Gold Popular Post Happy Hippo Posted October 25, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted October 25, 2019 Things are not going my way! I decided to try growing a beard, but ended up looking too much (for my liking) like Gerry Adams. So having shaved it off, I decided to cheer myself up with some fancy new glasses. There were a very nice pair of octagonally shaped frames in the opticians, but when I tried them on I looked like Otto Flick (of the Gestapo). After this I went home and finished a bottle of Penderyn. I feel much better now. 2 12
