RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted October 15, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted October 15, 2019 Mooring Awl, Inner Temple hare, A sleep of 3.5 hours, Ibuprofen and Strepcil sleep of 3 hours.. Ben the "I'm Not going out in the dark" Collie, point blank refused his normal patrol this morning, standing the other end of the hall way. I suspect when daylight arrives SWMBO will get a rude awakening.. It did get rather soggy overnight, but it's drying in a strong wind this morning. This computer says it will reset in 1:43:36 this will be the second time on this set of updates.. Gwiwers and others words remind me of why I don't go to London, the nearest is Ally Pally By car, for the National Dinghy show, I'm not sure my sailing companion will be up to it by next 29th Feb 2020. Time to... stroll down to the LAB, after forceing a restart..
RMweb Premium Popular Post Barry O Posted October 15, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted October 15, 2019 Ey up! This week is "catch up with the todo list" week. Keeps me out of mischief! I provided the necessay bits for a much changed bowel cancer screening process. Just got to wait for the feedback. Her indoors is out again this morning so I may get some layout wiring completed. Very positive thoughts and wishes to all who ail. John, her indoors and myself, hope they can keep Sandy as comfortable as possible. Carpe Diem! RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted October 15, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted October 15, 2019 Good morning all, As always thinking of Sandy and John. Your continued stoicism is a lesson to us all. Rather dull and dismal here with some showers and even the odd sunny period possible. I intend to visit The Shed again today. Track, wire, solder, cork and glue are going to be manipulated crucified. There could be trouble ahead (or possibly on the head) Have a good one, Bob. 14 3

RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted October 15, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 15, 2019 Morning all. The orange thunderstorms didn’t pass over Benfleet but it did rain quite a lot overnight. I have an appointment to see my GP this afternoon. I made the appointment a couple of weeks ago. I could have had an earlier appointment but I particularly wanted to see my GP and she was on leave. RMweb Gold Popular Post Kingzance Posted October 15, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted October 15, 2019 To John and Sandy, I have no suitable words and just wish you as much peace together as possible. You remain very much in my thoughts. in other news, I have been given my list of tasks for the day, which are many and varied, so I better crack on - May drop in later.
RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted October 15, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 15, 2019 Good morning everyone Last nights rain is still falling, admittedly not as heavy as last night, but it’s still falling none the same. Now that breakfast has been consumed my next task will be to complete the Sainsbury’s Grand Prix, as well as visiting a couple of other shops near by. I will be unaccompanied this morning as Sheila will be at the Dentist’s having an emergency extraction! Once I’ve returned home and put away all the shopping I will hopefully get a bit more work done in the cellar. Back later. 6
RMweb Gold 81C Posted October 15, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 15, 2019 Morning All Drizzle again this weather has become tiresome. Not feel my best today ended up with a sore throat last night despite the best efforts made with the Brandy bottle and antiseptic throat spray. It's back under the duvet for me maybe several extra hours kip will help rather than push my luck and try to do something. Enjoy your day Idell Bustard
tigerburnie
Morning, whilst it's wet under foot the skies seem to be clearing, not a breath of wind, unlike me blowing like a steam engine yesterday after my bike ride, sure it will do me good some how though. Wishing peaceful things for Sandy and John.

RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted October 15, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 15, 2019 Morning all from Estuary-Land. Bright and sunny this morning, just as well as I will have to go down to the bank to deposit the payment for the trip to Warley, coach and entrance fee to the organisers of the trip. As Tony said the lightning was absent last night, either that or I slept very well. 1 minute ago, Happy Hippo said: I'm well hung then! The Lurker
Greetings all from LBG where the sun is shining between the clouds and there is no rain. Best wishes to Sandy and John, and also to Sharon. Work gets more hectic - the combination of year end and several concurrent projects does not make for a straightforward existence. Everyone seemed very tired at home. I suppose they have nearly reached half term.... 1
RMweb Gold 81C Posted October 15, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 15, 2019 Afternoon All Finally got out of bed and had a soup lunch, feeling better I think I'll try and start the day or it's on the sofa with a blanket and watch day time TV I'll be asleep again in 2 minutes flat. tomorrow I'm giving a lift to a neighbour to the driving test centre he's taking his HGV theory test I spent a hour with him yesterday schooling him through the process it's what I've taught in the past when companies paid me to work. Happy Hippo says he is well hung, boasting again. Better start moving I can feel the eyes wanting to close.
RMweb Gold Popular Post Shedman5 Posted October 15, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted October 15, 2019 Afternoon, I thought I would pop in and say hello as Ive just gone through some of the first pages of ERs ( obviously not the ones before the changes occurred) as recently I was in Cape Town and I just could not remember the name of the guy who used to post from the retirement home there. Don Bradley is who I am refering to, going through the posts quite a few names not present these days obviously some have sadly passed away. Maybe some are like me useless at posting! All is well here though I seem to busier now in retirement than ever! Best wishes to those under the weather and particularly Sandy & John. Popular Post Ian Abel
Arrghhh, AWOL for too long, creating a reply 30 minutes ago, PC died and for some reason returning to RMWeb didn't provide me with the "...recover saved message..." , or whatever it was option. Did this go away and I'm not aware of it? So, trying to recreate the message again Have at least managed to keep up with John and Sandy on Facebook and we're continuing to provide our thoughts and prayers Last week or so has been a flurry of activity. The Mrs posted the old place as available for rent on Monday (8 days ago) and we expected it to be a slow processes, HOWEVER, Tuesday AM we were contacted by a family very eager to rent, the rest of the week was taken up with showings to various members of the family, discussions of items we'd planned on updating/changing (expecting we'd have some time before anyone rented!), background checks, and lease signing. By Friday we'd got a tenant for a year (probably longer) and they're doing some painting this coming week and moving in next week! Oh, and they're into EVs and are prepared to run the required additional power to the garage at their expense! Fine by me Add to that, getting a couple of contractors lined up to address the foundation/basement leaking issue in the new place, AND some gutter work, I'm amazed I had time to do any actual WORK. In other news, Jemma passed her check-ride yesterday so is now officially a Delta pilot Flew out to NY yesterday afternoon, given it was Columbus/Indigenous Peoples day yesterday and the client was off, I took the opportunity to take a more regular flight rather than arriving after midnight - Yay, a decent first nights sleep for once. 10 and bright driving in, the huge yellow orb hadn't quite made it above the horizon, so the traffic was "sensible". 17 the expected high, then heavy rain forecast tomorrow. Tally ho... 21
RMweb Gold Kingzance Posted October 15, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 15, 2019 A morning full of ferrying of even older people than me to local health centres completed. The house's security system has been repaired and the contractor paid. I am now off to get the fish and then back to draw more Sports Pavilion variations before taking grandsons to golf via some fast food outlet (not sure which, it will be their choice as I shan't partake) then back and cook my fish before cribbage later. I do hope a full night's sleep uninterrupted buy the snoring of SWMBO will be the reward for such community service! 10

RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted October 15, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 15, 2019 Back from the GP with forms for investigations. I phoned Southend Hospital for a chest X ray appointment and have one for tomorrow afternoon. I booked my blood tests for this Friday at a local clinic. GP said if any of the tests indicate a problem she will contact me, otherwise make an appointment to see her a week after the X ray appointment. There seem to be blood tests for so many things now. While at the surgery I collected Aditi’s routine diabetic blood test forms. We are very fortunate not to have such a good practice. I did wait a fortnight for this appointment but as I think I mentioned that was out of choice. Tony 1
Ian Abel
5 minutes ago, AndrewC said: Was Jemma involved with this? Unfortunately not as she's still in training through today...but is very active in "Women in Aviation" and does a lot to help promote the field for women interested. She DOES have the necessary pink tie though, as she starts her operational line flights/observation Wednesday and all the crew wear pink "something" (stop that at the back!!). The pilots just ties, but the female cabin crew have pink uniforms that some wear. For those curious/confused, October is "breast Cancer Awareness" month here, possibly everywhere, that I don't know, and Delta (as well as some other airlines) do some significant promotion of it... https://news.delta.com/15-things-know-about-deltas-partnership-breast-cancer-research-foundation 14

RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted October 15, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 15, 2019 Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Warley is now all sorted and paid for so we can arrange an ER's meet up nearer the date. I walked into town to pay for the trip and I decided to walk back again (uphill most of the way) rather than wait for a bus, the first time I have done that in ages. I will have to do that more often as I need the exercise. I nipped into WH Smiths while I was in town but there was nothing interesting there.
RMweb Gold Popular Post Happy Hippo Posted October 15, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted October 15, 2019 Well, we're back to the land of the Telf, complete with litter strewn streets, ignorant drivers and vile weather. Anyone contemplating going to Japan for the 2020 Olympics, just take the opportunity and go. It's a clean, efficient, organised and friendly country with fantastic customer service and transport links that put this country to shame. The Japanese are polite, honest, so very welcoming and extremely helpful.......................Especially if you have a red dragon or two with you. 16 4
