Last of the turkey constructed as a winter soup with dumplings last night. Leftovers for lunch today, and a couple of meal sized portions frozen.

Shopping done until next year, coal fetched, new duvet cover acquired, and the only major thing I have to do, since the cooker was cleaned yesterday, is to cut up some logs.

HOWEVER before Christmas she tidied up, and the large toolbox containing the bow saw is right at the back. "It was big so it went to the back" is not really what I wanted to hear.

Neither is "Mind you put it back again."

Morning All,

Tad frosty in these parts while walking the dog this morning. Nothing like the temperatures some ERs live with but cold enough for us softy southerners.

Have a good one all.

Cheers

Dave

Nice layout.  :mosking:

Alison has three sisters and one of them is a policewoman. No information regarding their cleanliness standards!

I better not tell you the French slang name for a policewoman then.  If my daughter heard it she'd kill me.

. . . . . . . .

Trisonic's tale of rape followed by marriage is a trifle unusual, I suspect. Most rape victims would be more inclined to offer their assailant a small surgical operation with a pair of rusty scissors!

. . . . . . . .

We would all like to know exactly what happened at Dunbar Castle on the 24th April 1567. I suggest that you read a little about it then decide who you want to believe. That's what most people do.

Morning - I nearly decided NOT to retrieve the newspaper from the front door step today! -24 at that point <bbbrrrr> up to -22 now :jester:

You really don't "get" what a CLEAR sky is, until you look outside with the temperatures that low and not a cloud in sight! It's also really, REALLY bright right now, amazing what a difference the cold makes once it has extracted the last remaining moisture from the air!

Not much else to report, Jemma returned for her final few days based out of LA yesterday, and work is pretty slow given most of the folks I'd be dealing with at most clients seem to have decided it's not worth working between Christmas and the New Year, Mrs off to "play" with a great-niece for the day...

Stay warm, I'm bloody sure I'm going to - especially as they're predicting some light breeze later today that will push the wind-chills downwards more, then again the expected high IS going to get to the dizzying heights of -16 <woo hoo>....

My consultant surgeon from Musgrove categorically confirmed to me that 'they' will ' NOT ' be

doing any more operations on eyes .

Marion sees one of their specialists for eye pressure. Just before the news broke he had suggested laser surgery to reduce the pressure. She was rather glad to have declined.

Evening all (well, it is here, I suppose!). SSD conversion was successful, so I'm a happy bunny. I wonder if I should indeed hand down the reclaimed HDD to the laptop. I mean, why leave a perfectly good drive unused…

This afternoon I have been finding and cataloguing  books and magazines.

  1. Doesn't it take a long time
  2. There's a lot!
  3. Where the devil am I going to put them?

I find turfing out railway mags quite cathartic. Makes the bin quite heavy after a purge though!

My rational is that I'm unlikely to be able to find any particular article in a massive stack of mags, editors often repeat "how to" features every year or so, new products surpass old ones so what's the point in keeping mags which have a lot of product review content.

A good clear out often seems to clear the mind and make new modelling projects possible.

Most of mine are MRJ and GWRJ

I've given up with the others, agreeing with what you say.

Evening.

Another busy day at work, not really looking forward to stocktaking tomorrow but at least the busyness of the last two days means there is less to count......

Too much going on above to mention everyone's posts, interesting day though.

40k miles from a car to ensure reliability doesn't seem a lot now, does it?  Both our cars won't see 100k again, the Picasso is heading for 130k, and no, it doesn't go wrong.  The 'reliable' Flawed Foci does though..... :butcher:
