RMweb Gold DaveF Posted Tuesday at 08:24 RMweb Gold Share Posted Tuesday at 08:24 A fine fresh sunny morning. I slept well but feel weary so in ashort while i'll just go somewhere and have a quiet gentle walk before settling down to do something useful. For some time there has been some paperwork concerning my funeral on my desk. I have a funeral plan but have been putting off giving details of what I would like to happen on the day to the undertakers - yet it is really on a few lines of writing - details of the grave plot, what I want in a church dervice or at the graveside and so on. I really must get it done, it would be a load off my mind. Apart from that there is nothing vital, I might sort out a few more paperbacks to go to a charity shop. It is also about time I put away my short sleeve shirts as I don't think I'll need them again this year. I am due an opticians appointment in early November, I always worry a bit as I had a bleed on my retina some years ago though when tested I can read the bottom line of the chart with my glasses on. Fortunately it repaired itself and I didn't need tratment. David 11

This Health advice was brought to you today by Dr Bear - payment in Cake** is acceptable.... (**But no Coffee or real Cream....) I am going to see the specialist optician again in October so I will try there first, it has got to the point where I do not enjoy night driving at all especially in the rain. Every one of which I can recall and if I think hard enough I can hear the conversations. Hope to the gods I don’t remember this one. I remember all too clearly every emergency call I have made, every incident and more of the details than is respectful to discuss here. I too have also heard pigs screaming. And a lot of other wildlife. Mostly but not on every occasion in Australian bush fires. My sympathies. I do sometimes wonder whether or not it might have been better for the brain to have blanked out such moments from memory. But then I might be troubled by the blanks and have a “shadow memory” that something bad happened but I cannot remember what it was. On balance I live with the memories and the knowledge that when I could I did as much as I could, and when I could do nothing useful I offered my services afterwards as a listener to others woes, a helper and a clear-up worker. Life is. It contains good and bad, lucky and unfortunate. I hope the farmer was suitably insured. And I hope all involved - it’s pretty confronting for the fire crews too - can debrief and receive support. 1
RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted Tuesday at 09:15 RMweb Premium Share Posted Tuesday at 09:15 Good morning everyone A bright, sunny start to the day here in England’s northwest corner, it would be great to be able to spend the day in the garden, but for the next week or so, this is still verboten! But, next week I should be able to do some light jobs outside then, which I’m SOOOOOOO looking forward to. So, I’ll be spending most of today either pottering about in the cellar or sat at the dining room table, as I’ve got plenty of little things I can be getting on with. Back later. RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted Tuesday at 09:49 RMweb Premium Share Posted Tuesday at 09:49 Morning all from Estuary-Land. @polybear reminded me that its about time I purchased a new gilet. I'm a bit wary about buying one online as I like to have inside pockets which not all of them have. So I looked on E-bay and found one that had at least two inside pockets, one with a zip. They were described as cargo jackets rather than gilets, and there was a better selection under cargo jackets. 8

I stopped night driving when the "halo effect" made me feel unsafe. RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted Tuesday at 12:43 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted Tuesday at 12:43 My pills have always been issued on a 28 day routine, I managed to get them to special issue after 21 days to give me a weeks leeway, due to them not having the pills ready when I went to Collect. Then because of this family visit I got another 3 week issue. So when i get back I'll be two weeks ahead. Sisters walked over for a visit, the youngest needed to be driven back, her arthritis is that bad she couldn't walk the 800 yards back. If I d known I'd have gone and picked her up. We 4, swmbo, me and sisters are being driven to the family gathering , via the Edinburgh trams for the last bit. Mums not fit enough to make it, so various relatives will come and visit her here separately. One relative and their swmbo can't make it due to COVID, another has broken their wrist and can't drive up. Went shopping again... This time to Falkirk... Big shopping area on the former site of the Scottish Railway Preservation Society / Firs park football ground ( East Stirlingshire's former ground) Walked up from there to the high street to find WHSmith and the Works as per their websites... Both gone, WH was a pound stretcher type shop, The works was a popup shop selling cheap Chinese rubbish. Another trip out is planned... My legs are not happy, a lack of Ben means I'm not walking enough. Talking a lunch time walk will be reinstated... 6

My widowed mother in law has more pension (obviously not state pension!) income now than our household income before Aditi retired.
