And what about all the other countries between there and here he could have stopped in? Whats wrong with them? People like him are just laughing at our border policy, there'll be boatloads of them soon. All talking in the trains with their silly accents. RMweb Premium jjb1970 Posted November 23, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 23, 2023 I remember many many years ago when I was at sea I did some time on a container ship trading between the Persian Gulf and East Asia. It was a terrific ship, very well designed and built and the route was great (Gulf - Singapore - Hong Kong - Busan - Yokohama - Nagoya - Kobe - Busan - Kaohsiung - Hong Kong - Singapore - Gulf). Anyway we picked up a pair of stowaways in Bandar Abbas, Iran. We did a complete circuit and no port would take them so they were still on-board when we got back to Bandar Abbas. They were marched down the gangway and shot, I think I had a slightly different attitude to migrants and desperate people after that. That was a sister ship of a boat which operated a Europe - Gulf service, that was the one which tested a containerized Seawolf SAM system. The test which was hush hush tope secret and for which we had to sign the official secrets act, nobody ever knew that the container with a VLS and the other one with a radar radome on top cunningly disguised by painting BAE - Lockheed on the sides were a missile system. 2

Priti Patel's family were part of the East African Asian community expelled from Uganda by Idi Amin, and she was a truly turpitudinous individual with truly ghastly views on many things (though in fairness Priti was pretty). 7 3

RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted November 23, 2023 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted November 23, 2023 Afternoon Awl, Ben taken to vets, one deltic and a bit later, he'd had a very thorough examination, and his only comment was when the thermometer was wielded. ( Temperature OK) He was very good making no comments when every joint was bent and tested. We know he has pain from his left fore ankle, the vet reckons he has something wrong with his neck, he wont lift his head although she bent it back further than I've ever seen it. Bloods were also taken which were ok, except for a slightly low white cell count. She wants a second test on that on Monday. Meanwhile he's had an painkiller injection, and we have a week's worth strong painkiller pills to give him. The funs going to be getting him to take the pills, he's very good at not eating pills... The injection she said will last 4 hours, but he's not due his first pill for another 2 hours. Stuff bought from the orange shed, will be unloaded and partly used tomorrow. Blazer and trousers taken to dry cleaners. Got warning as they are so old it's at my own risk.. only over 20 years old... Very windy out there, was clear blue Welkin until the big light in the sky was switched off. 7

RMweb Gold Popular Post DaveF Posted November 23, 2023 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted November 23, 2023 The service at church went well today and there were nice choccy biscuits with our coffee. Afterwards I had a walk along the promenade, a council workman was topping up the water in the plastic barriers which are still in a neat line. While I was there the wind strengthened a lot, fortunately it stayed mild. There was a lot of cloud about and some bits of rainbows. Back at home I had a look at what the roofers have done, it seems fine and they have taken the mortar out of the gutter where it had ended up when it slipped out from under the tile. I had a simple lunch of sausage and beans on toast (real Heinz ones) after which I went in the front garden. By now it was very windy indeed, approaching gale force but I still managed to tidy up the perennial geraniums. I picked up all the bits without too much stuff blowing down the road. After that I cut down some ornamental grass in the back garden along with a few other bits. There are still some jobs to do but the bin doesn't go for the last time until 6th December so there is no rush if it really is cold over the next few days. Once that exertion was over I sat down and had short doze and then tackled the jigsaw again. In a few minutes tea will be a Greggs chicken bake which I bought from their new shop at the beach, it will go in the oven shortly to be heated up. After that it will once again be a normal evening of TV, music and book. I intend to watch the programme at 7pm on BBC2 about Seaton Sluice as I quite often go there when I go along the coast. Not all the sand has come back yet. A pale rainbow in a light shower. The "thing" in the foreground is an old figurehead in the garden of a house by the beach.
