In my mother's case, she had a neck pendant and a device attached to her landline phone. They saved a few falls from turning out nastier than they were. I am looking into having such an alarm. I have already taken some measures to help my mobility such as purchasing a stool that fits in the bath as I was finding it increasingly difficult to get into and out of the bath. The only drawback so far is I have to remember to warm the seat up before I sit on it. I have registered with a housing association providing warden controlled apartments but unfortunately there is a long waiting list locally. I now wish I had registered for that reason a few years ago.

A whole packet of crushed Chilli Flakes in about 450ml of E.V. Olive Oil; it's now in the cupboard "fermenting". I have in the past bunged a couple of real Chilli's in as well for good measure but found them unnecessary so don't bother anymore. All in all, a successful afternoon. It can't last. Bear gone. They saved a few falls from turning out nastier than they were. Some of pendant ones operate on a tilt meter/ motion principle. So if they suffer a really sudden fall they go off. They also activate if they stay still for a long time. Friend of mums had one which she kept forgetting to turn this off when she put it down and they kept ringing her up. Her son said they started to charge her after so many (three?) false alarms.

For academic issues they had a disciplinary panel but for fights in the corridor etc, it was her job. Anyway one student complained another was threatening him to hand over money. After interrogation the student accused of threatening behaviour said he was just asking for the money he was owed for providing a sample essay to the other student, who had submitted it as their own work. It all ended with the initial complainant having to appear for a discussion with the academic offences board. 12

Popular Post Erichill16
Evening All, Nothing much to report recently but today we visited SWMBO’s Father. We’ve hardly spoken at all for the last ten years but as I mentioned at Christmas he offered us an olive branch so we decided to call and see him. Flipping heck, a family getting on better AFTER Christmas, must be a first! I know it’s usually a busy time for solicitors after the Christmas ‘festivities’. Bit of snow here when we walked into Penistone and very icy on the way home. Had youngest nephew around this afternoon as he’s of school swinging the leg with a cold. Probably got him tomorrow as well. Turdycurses. Goodnight, Robert 1
Popular Post andyram
Evening all and a belated Happy New Year. It has been a few weeks since I last paid a visit to these pages, or even RMWeb in general. The black dog has made more than its fair share of visits. It has been tiresome at times. Tonight I have watched the Hornby program on Yesterday. It was ok. The most interesting part related to Kathy and her Welsh micro layout project. The rest was very much promotion (or is it propaganda) relating to the TT gauge launch. Of course, as a humble retailer, I am not permitted to stock such a product! The other feature related to repairs on some of the models of Rocket. I have a feeling one of the models belonged to one of my customers because the back story seemed very similar. Best wishes Andy

RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted January 16, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 16, 2023 Good evening everyone Well the visit to Tesco that had been mooted earlier this morning has been deferred until another day, phew! I wasn’t too bothered by this announcement, as it meant that I could spend the afternoon reading the latest copy of BRM and surfing t’internet. I didn’t actually buy anything today, but I did pre-order a locomotive from Rapido UK, a sound fitted E1 in SR black. Other than that I’ve not done anything today.

RMweb Premium jamie92208 Posted January 17, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 17, 2023 (edited) Good moaning. It's not so windy as yesterday and definitely no white stuff. Plenty of liquid fell though yesterday. I did manage to get out and buy a ton of sand and gravel mix plus some cement. In between showers I diug out fot the first foundation for the water tanks. The shuttering was placed and the base lined with stones. Depending on the weather some concrete may be poured this afternoon. The shopping needs to be done this morning though. Regards to all. A concerned ER Bear suddenly realised (at 06-15 hours) that the two "fixed" parts of the front panel on the Leccy C.U. Box mustn't stop the C.U. front panel from being removed if necessary. Pretty obvious, really. Fortunately the upper fixed panel - which will have coving attached - will be just above the top of the C.U. so that's rather helpful, otherwise it would've been a right pain (other words are available). So it hasn't gone to ratsh1t just yet....... 8 hours ago, PhilJ W said: Evening all from Estuary-Land. Trying to plough through Farcebook, whatever happened to 'user friendly'. Not a hope.....incoming......🤣 Bear here..... The best part of 7 hours unbroken zeddin'. Big Tick Bear is expecting collection of a much longed for sale of DIY stuff I've been trying to flog on the 'bay for some months now - the "collect only" bit puts people off (and prices down, sadly); still, at least it's finally sold (STC) and the buyer will be paying cash on collection, so no Paypal Fees. It'll also mean a lot of guff out of the muddlin' room at long last. Very Big Tick. I also managed to win a muddlin' item on the 'bay yesterday for a reasonable price (thanks to a stealer), so another Tick. Today sees yet more work on the Leccy C.U. Box - starting with the fixed upper part of the front panel & complete end panel; once those parts are fitted it'll allow the ceiling to be coved - but only after the plasterboard done a few days ago has been plastered. I've had no response from the Plasterer to my text so I'll try phoning this morning. I also need to finalise a colour scheme - I have a 10% off voucher for The Paint Shed to use before 20th Jan (and 10% off the paint cost is worth having) so I need to get my little furry ar5e in gear. Oh yes, a load of towels to wash and a C-19 ONS test to do - hopefully a neighbour can post it for me. Bear gone. 17 1
RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted January 17, 2023 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 17, 2023 Mooring Awl, 5.5 hours sleep, long awake, 1/2 hours sleep, it would have been longer, But Ben the I want out Collie appeared. Ben enjoyed a full patrol, darn cold out there, the soft mud, aka lawn is now like concrete. The green stuff is very crunchy. Its -6C on Norwich airport let alone out in the real countryside. I'm now wrapped up on the sofa getting warm, having topped up the fire and opened the air vent to get some more heat out of it. Still struggling to post pictures, some there appears to be a second source of file name, which over rides the fact it's a jpeg. Plans for today, Build the centre panel for the radiator cover. 1
RMweb Premium Popular Post New Haven Neil Posted January 17, 2023 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 17, 2023 Morning, from a rather chilly rock, 2c 'feels like -4'. Dry, clear skies, heavy frost but there's snaa elsewhere that is causing the usual chaos on the roads. The Manx 'put your foot down and spin the wheels on ice' driving skills have caused a jam on a hill - and its not much of a one, either - in Baldrine, which is the major route to the Big City from up here. Mrs NHN on a bus in the middle of it all, grumpy is not adequate. I've just made coffee. This did not go down well as a text.....😆 5
