RMweb Premium NGT6 1315 Posted March 12, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 12, 2012 Strange how tiring teaching is is it not. It sure can be, but I'm not complaining. Comfortable shoes are a good point, though. I guess I rather wouldn't want to wear high heels to school if I were a woman!
RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted March 12, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 12, 2012 Tony, Have you started flocking yet? Don't forget the Topic! I've had a practice flock, so things are less static now. However I'll be slightly delayed as first I need to install a bit of ruggedised wiring before getting back to the scenic stuff. Tony
RMweb Premium Sidecar Racer Posted March 12, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 12, 2012 Snickers was Marathon. Topic is still produced. See what a mine of information we are here I knew something had changed , I dont eat many snack type bars these days , being a pensioner and all that .

RMweb Premium skipepsi Posted March 12, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 12, 2012 Dr Martens aircell soles were the way forward, walking around the workshop all day certainly kept the weight off.
RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted March 12, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 12, 2012 Dr Martens aircell soles were the way forward, walking around the workshop all day certainly kept the weight off. I wondered what teachers wore now. Once upon a time most colleagues seemed to wear those Clarks shoes that looked like Cornish Pasties. Dom's comment about not wearing high heels reminded me of a colleague. She was very tall and had appropriately large feet and hands (could do CTRL ALT DEL with one hand). She was very grateful as the only place at one time she could get high heeled shoes was from an establishment that catered for gentlemen who liked to wear such footwear (at the weekend?) RMweb Gold PhilH Posted March 12, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 12, 2012 I wear those Clarks shoes that look like Cornish Pasties. Crimped at the side then, not at the top.
RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted March 12, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 12, 2012 Crimped at the side then, not at the top. That describes them perfectly! Usually they were a pastie sort of colour as well.
DDolfelin
That explains why some of the Masters regularly put their foot in their mouth.
RMweb Gold BoD Posted March 12, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 12, 2012 Doesn't taste like Cornish Pasties. I don't have particularly large feet but they are wide so I find Clark's the most comfortable. Can't get away with those high heels on weekends at all
trisonic
I've got two pairs of Cuban Heeled boots by Tony Lamas, one pair Sharkskin the other Calf.... The shape of Cuban means you kind of look like you are falling backwards. Best, Pete.
Robert
Morning All, It appears to be quite a reasonable morning here - but it hasn't really got light enough to confirm yet. I made it into the office early, but I can't confess to being very awake. I slept well, but dreamt a load of absolute rubbish! My shoes are fairly run of the mill black leather. Have a good day everyone...
travelintrev
Morning all, Back from my travels safely, though it was a bit unnerving when I was collected from Port Harcourt Airport yesterday morning and there were two Heavily Armed Policemen (aka MOPOL) in the mini-bus as my escort................Though spent more time in traffic getting to -from the airport in Lagos. Left 5am got back 11pm. Knackered!. Footwear for me is normally work boots, though there is a pair of those Cornish Pasty shaped shoes in the UK...... Enjoy your day Trev. RMweb Premium NGT6 1315 Posted March 13, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 13, 2012 Morning all... Overcast but balmy once again and I did manage to sleep in a bit longer. With spring approaching as it is, I am very much feeling how I am a proverbial lark, which is to say that I first woke up around 4.30 this morning. Need to post a parcel later on, but all in all it looks like today will be calm. Have a good one, guys...
DDolfelin
Someone cares about your safety then Trev. Misty again here. I regret my feet are rather ordinary in shape and my shoes just look like shoes (usually moccs in my case). There may be a complex building now that I've noticed my feet are ordinary. I don't think my shoes would look like or taste of any particular foodstuff except perhaps Jerky and Kiwi.
sixoh8sixoh
Morning all. Not feeling terribly awake yet. If I doze off again it'll mean me being late for work though. No Cornish pasty shoes here, just black brogues and brown vaguely biker style boots. Though the boots are from the M&S Italian range so maybe they taste of pizza or spag bol... Made a return trip to the big blue box on Sunday to get some doors and shelves (to replace the shelves I'd pinched for the new bookcase) for one half height bookcase. Fitted the doors last night without issue then realised I'd bought the wrong depth shelves. Hadn't realised there were two depths of shelf available. I shouldn't be allowed in that shop... RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted March 13, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 13, 2012 Morning all. It isn't cold but it is rather overcast. I have one pair of formal black shoes (seem to come out for funerals unfortunately now), a pair of brown shoes for when I have to be "smart casual" on holiday. Otherwise I wear whatever Berghaus or Merrell lightweight boot product was on special offer at the camping shop.
DonBradley
Hello all, Late on parade today. Got caught up in watching an episode of Dalziel and Pasco. I have always understood that Featherstonehaugh is pronounced "Fanshaw" but it's taken me years to understand that Dalziel is pronounced "De-ell". Weird English! Lovely weather continues for the foreseeable future.
RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted March 13, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 13, 2012 it's taken me years to understand that Dalziel is pronounced "De-ell". Weird English! I think it is a name originating in Scotland!
Guest Max Stafford
That it is. We like our funny pronunciations! Probably one of the best known is 'Menzies' which is correctly pronounced 'Ming-iss'. Conversely, the small town of Lenzie in Stirlingshire is pronounced as it looks! Dave. RMweb Premium skipepsi Posted March 13, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 13, 2012 Morning all, dozed off again after the alarm went off. Just a thin mist this morning hopefully a sunny day to follow.
RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted March 13, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 13, 2012 I notice that the situation in New Jersey today seems to make it onto the front page of the BBC News website. I love the "We are not sending out any blank cheques" in response to a toilet paper shortage!
RMweb Premium 45156 Posted March 13, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 13, 2012 Morning All Not too bad here this morning - though I managed to sleep through two alarms this morning and as a result, woke with a start when 30747 who is a real early bird came back upstairs. Bad news - CD player on the stereo has decided to jump on the early tracks of every disc. As it's now about twelve years old, I'm told that it's unlikely that the parts will now be available if a new transport is needed. Cost for just looking is £40.00 plus parts (if available) plus labour costs for fitting. Is it worth it? Good(ish) news - our local Hi-Fi shop is closing and has a 30% off sale to get rid of their stock, and they've got an Arcam at a good price. Went for second pre-op yesterday, and there were three of us who were on our second time round due to NHS mess-ups - all of us were put on the waiting list about the same time, all of us had pre-ops some months ago, then heard no more. What a waste of resource to schedule patients for a pre-op when they haven't even got a date for surgery, and then the waiting list is up to five months and a pre-op result is valid for only three months. And it was the complete works again - all the questions were repeated and the results re-recorded - fresh blood tests, and another ECG and chest X-Ray. I had a full set of blood test results with me from my diabetes clinic last month, analysed in the same lab, and I had a chest X-Ray done as part of some GP invstigations, but they (of course) were not usable as they were not via the pre-op department. No wonder the local hospital has a cash crisis the way they mishandle this sort of thing. Rant over so Regards to All Stewart
Guest Max Stafford
I sometimes wonder if there's a covert remit to cause waste in order to present a skewed case in favour of privatisation. I consider nothing beneath 'them' these days. Days.
