It looked like we were driving to the moon. I got to see a perfectly full* silvery moon rise over clouds on the Cascades, driving home this morning. I wonder if it is the same one? (The Hunter's moon, and not as orange as "Halloween" moons seem to be.) * It looked perfectly full but the little circle is on the calendars for tomorrow. The plural is not mistaken. It is already tomorrow on my Australian calendar. Rain was forecast today. It was cloudy to start and there was bright sunshine mid-afternoon which I was not led to believe would occur. The local forecasts did a poor job of telling us to go look at the comet at sunset when it was possible. This was possible on the weekend but not since then. The moon is obscured by cloudy haze at present.

Or Quote It seemed to K. as if at last those people had broken off all relations with him, and as if now in reality he were freer than he had ever been, and at liberty to wait here in this place usually forbidden to him as long as he desired, and had won a freedom such as hardly anybody else had ever succeeded in winning, and as if nobody could dare touch him or drive him away, or even speak to him, but — this conviction was at least equally as strong — as if at the same time there was nothing more senseless, more hopeless, than this freedom, this waiting, this inviolability. 10 5

I have been warned off yellow snow, but a warning of yellow rain sounds horrendous. 😁 I am sure it's no joy but we are on orange alert. Yellow rain, I have been told that people will pay good money for a Golden Shower. I wouldn't. Anyway good moaning from near the Meridian, a few minutes west of it to be exact. Physio this morning then possibly some chauffeuring this afternoon. In between times I might head for the shed. Jamie

RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted Thursday at 07:00 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted Thursday at 07:00 Distant thunder???? No an empty artic lorry approaching, then it goes past down to their turning point and comes back. Then another, which stops 6 ft from the window engine on tick over .. then.. Beep beep beep, rumble rumble rumble. Yep it's load up the sugar beet time, 06:50... The second lorry has moved up to load now... Chances of further sleep are gone.. Mooring Awl, An awful night's sleep, first I couldn't get to until well after 23:59, then it was a very broken up night's sleep just kept waking up to find a new comfortable position... Forepaws not happy, but then there has been recent rain.. Dull, grey, with wet ground outside.. During the awake period consideration was given to how to, on the curved side of the egg box, decision? Fix the straight bit first, then bend the rest of it... As I was typing that photos of buildings near the bridges I'm modelling, appeared on Look East Breakfast , https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c77xy27xxkro Don't think any of the listed buildings are close enough to make it onto the model though... I haven't got a single piece of ply to do the other sides bendy bit, not sure whether to preassemble the side, or fit it piece by piece. AHH, quiet, the lorries have trundled off, it's 20 miles to the Cantley factory, where they'll unload, then come back.. I'm told we are apple picking today, swmbo wants to make some crumbles. Also the floor boards for the winter sailing boat hopefully will have dried, then further work will continue. . With it being warm ISH, and forecast to be dry, a trip to the current bridges for photos is required with a tape measure. Bribery in the form of dropping off Swmbo in Latham's in Heigham will also occur. But first.. Time for brekky. Oh joy.... Top gun now... Who said the countryside was quiet...
RMweb Premium Popular Post New Haven Neil Posted Thursday at 07:06 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted Thursday at 07:06 Morning, from a rock wot is dry and rather cloudy, with better promised, 12C so not so bad. I was awoken by a crash this morning as Mrs NHN managed to get a mug to jump off a cupboard shelf where it has lain undisturbed for some days, and send it to its splintering death on the floor. My fault, of course although I was abed at the time. I also got clean it all up as she buqqered off to work! My old NHS department was sending out close to a thousand appointment letters a week, I don't recall us ever having the sort of errors that folk are reporting now. Maybe one error a month, tops. No, less. It's not that hard really, I do wonder just how it all goes so wrong. Most of our issues were with worky-ticket patients demanding appointments early so they could go on holiday at the required time. Never later, you note, always earlier..... ...oh yeah, Podiatry. And mostly the fair sex requiring attention before holiday in sunnier climes. Odd, that. Humph. 2

RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted Thursday at 07:29 RMweb Premium Share Posted Thursday at 07:29 Good morning everyone It’s stopped raining and the skies are looking blue! Sheila is busy getting herself ready for her Zumba class, so as usual, I’ve decamped to the dining room to keep out of the way. Once I’ve dropped her off at the church hall, I’ll come back home make use of the dry weather and set up my mobile work bench and make a start sanding the legs and frame pieces for the layout storage yard. I’ll then take all the sanded bits back to the cellar, ready for assembly, but assembling probably won’t start today. Once that task is done, I’ll carry on with the metal dowels, cleaning and cutting another 15 rods should be enough, leaving me with a few spares left over.

RMweb Gold DaveF Posted Thursday at 08:01 RMweb Gold Share Posted Thursday at 08:01 The sun is shining, there are only a few small clouds about and it is mild - 12°C and should reach 16°C later on. The old tea towels need to be sorted and the very worn ones replacing with new, there will be a trip to church and possibly to the beach afterwards. I am sure I will find lots of other things to do to fill the day. David

There are too many plebs only to happy to see 'success' pulled down and there own mediocre- other words are available, efforts ignored. Me bitter and twisted? RMweb Premium Popular Post The White Rabbit Posted Thursday at 09:26 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted Thursday at 09:26 Morning awl, Well, it's finally stopped raining... breakfast has been had and I'm now wondering whether I should send out a dove. And where did I put that old lead line? Groceries delivered and stashed away. Ocado have an offer on pesto, so I stocked up a little. One day when I've acquired a small pestle and mortar I will probably have a crack at doing my own, sounds interesting and I bookmarked a couple of webpages for future reference from when we were discussing that a little while ago. Two trees are due to be delivered today, so thankfully the sun is out and the forecast is fair. A hawthorn and a crab apple if anyone just asked. The holes have already been dug, so I can just sit and wait with a muggersummat. I am wondering about two more, one of which could be an apple tree, cue reading/researching about pollination partners and fertility. But we'll get these two in first and see how things go. The gardener moved a large shrub the other day before the monsoons started, so far so good. It's now in a sunnier spot and it was rather in the way in the old position. Best wishes to anyone under the weather at the moment. Either literally or metaphorically.
RMweb Premium Popular Post Andy Hayter Posted Thursday at 09:29 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted Thursday at 09:29 PPS from last night. Our Orange weather warning is now upgraded to red for the whole day. It is still persisting down and I can see (lightningmaps.org) a thunderstorm front 30km to the west and drifting towards us. Since remote area phone lines (still copper) are above ground, they are vulnerable to lightning strike. Unlike power lines, there is no protection should the line suddenly be energised with a million volts. I shall in all likelihood be disconnecting from the internet shortly. I may be gone a little while.
