I learned never to set off for the day without some. Too frightened to ask..... 🫣 ......not sure I want to know anyway!!! 🤯 4

I was sitting on a bench outside a shop in a “country market” - lots of craft shops, cafes etc. and very busy. As I got up to leave, I saw a cellphone lying on the bench a few feet away, with nobody near it. So I took it into the shop, told them where I’d found it and left it with them. I think it would be a pretty forlorn hope that the owner would remember everywhere (s)he been in the market, though. Probably the best thing would be that they would phone their own number, hoping someone answers. The other option (if the phone isn’t locked) is to phone someone in the contacts list and say “do you know the person who’s phone this is - if so I’ve left it in this shop” (but don’t phone their mobile to tell them - or send them a text….🤣) 2

RMweb Premium polybear Posted June 24 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 24 Bear here.... There was an article in "i" newspaper today (it was a freebie) saying that the UK sold £26bn worth of UK military (and related) equipment to China last year. It made China the biggest destination for military-related equipment globally in 2023, despite The Big House imposing an Arms Embargo on the country, which came into effect in May 2022. But apparently the ban only applies to complete weapon platforms, lethal weapons and components for lethal weapons, so it's ok after all. It seems that items such as: ballistic test equipment, components for helmets and technology for weapon night sights doesn't count; we granted licences for more than 100 different types of military-related equipment to be sold to China Nothing to worry about after all then.... FFS. There may be a Rant there.... BG 1

RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted June 24 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 24 Evening all from Estuary-Land. Looked out about twenty minutes ago and saw a brilliant sunset, to be more accurate the afterglow as the sun was already below the horizon. There was an orange-red band just above the horizon. I went downstairs to fetch my phone to take a snap but by the time I got back it had gone. 12

RMweb Premium Popular Post BSW01 Posted June 24 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 24 Good evening everyone We went to RHS Bridgewater today, the weather was warm and sunny, so the shade from the trees in the woodland area was very welcome indeed. Warning, RANT alert! We had originally planned to go tomorrow, but Royal Mail said they wanted to deliver a package on Tuesday, so we changed our visit to today. Imagine the surprise we had when we got home, there on the door mat, was a red card from Royal Mail, stating that they’d delivered our package this morning and it was in the ‘blue’ recycling bin! What’s the point of saying you intend to call on Tuesday, but call on Monday, without giving us notice? Fecking ejits! Needles to say, our feedback reflected our dismay!

Just wondered if anyone can recommend any free duplicate photo finder software for Windows 11? If you find one I would be interested as I am currently transferring files to Windows 11. RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted June 25 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 25 Mooring Awl, Two and a bit hours sleep short awake, too hot so went down stairs, stepping over Ben who has slept in the doorway all night with the slight cool draft from open downstairs windows and open upstairs windows. Two hours sleep, one hours sleep. Hmm cars going through, I suspect they've fixed the road, between us and the next village south. It had collapsed into the sand. Ben was happy enough starting out on his walk but halfway down the garden stopped and laid down refusing to go further. On being offered back to the house he almost ran back. Don't know what's upsetting him. Plans for today, Hedge trimming, Change the spark plug on the mower then use it, Accounts. 4
RMweb Premium Popular Post jamie92208 Posted June 25 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 25 Good moaning from a warm and getting warmer Charente where it is expected to get to 30 today. We had a busy day yesterday. Beth to Physio first then off to the Danglies to see her Diabetologue. En route we had to call at the blood lab as the results of last week's test hadn't arrived. They had them there so they got taken to the Diabetologue. Then lunch at the Chinese buffet before a roundabout route home trying to source some tiles. No joy. Then an hour or so clearing the jungle outside Cluckingham Palace ready for new residents. We started clipping the 3' high Bran les by hand. That took forever so the tractor mower was deployed, low gear, high setti g and a small bite each pass. It was magic, it just devoured the brambles. Then in the evening as it was a tad cooler the large weed patch was mowed. Two more to go. Shopping this morning g then possibly more of the G word, kick ball to watch tonight Jamie
RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted June 25 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted June 25 (edited) Good morning all, Another warm and sunny start to the day here and it will get hotter. 18°C now rising to 30°C. * Today's plans include a visit to Sainsbury's which once again has been deemed "essential." Any bets on whether or not somebody will change their mind? We've been invited out to lunch with friends in the adjacent road. My garden watering services have been requested for the next couple of weeks and a briefing is required as to which plants and pots need the most attention. There are a lot of pots and it's a much bigger garden than ours. I've done it before for them so don't really need the briefing but lunch and a couple of beers is too good an offer to turn down. Tea has been taken to The Boss and she is already gettingamoveon so it'll soon be my turn. Have a good one, Bob. * Thermometer on table beside me now reading 23.5°C. RMweb Premium Popular Post Barry O Posted June 25 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 25 Ey up! I prefer the warmth and sun to cold and rain.. bring that heat on! Today involves actrip to Stockport for an overv60s game. BUT the Cricket Clubs in Cheshire don't do TEAS.. RANT MODE ON.. if they can afford to pay players they can organise teas.. lazy so and sos. I, personally would fine them.. RANT mode off. @Dave F Yep, as @polybearsays take clean items to your local Charity shops.. Sue Ryder do well out of selling "rag" around here. (Curtains included). Time to have a wash and toddle down to moreasons for some petrol and "take it yourself" tea materials. Baz 2

RMweb Gold Popular Post roundhouse Posted June 25 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted June 25 Good morning from another warm day in Surrey. I would rather have much cooler weather especially whilst having the heating system replaced. We currently have the heating on as we did yesterday afternoon. Our heating engineer either fancies roasting us or its the fact that hes put a cleansing chemical in the radiators and it needs to circulate a few times. When he arrives today the whole sytem will be drained down. New boiler and cleansing chemicals arrived a few hours late yesterday hence why he couldn't start the actual works till this morning. Also he had to get a few more items after he departed yeasterday. I rebuilt our kitchen too well so accees to run the additinoal piepwork isnt easy but he thinks he has worked out a way to do it. late afternoon yesterday we opened quite a few Tiny Rebel cans, alll ight / sour type beers os very refreshing. Tonight as we probaly wont have much working its will no doubt beer pub o'clock. 16
