Jamie In Germany in the '70s a colleague of mine bombed an old couple's garden with a 28ib smoke and flash practice bomb due to what is known in the trade as a switch pigs when approaching a range target. He was duly bo**ocked, apologies and reparations made to the old couple and life went on...... ...... until a few months later when the same pilot made the same switch pigs in the same place and....... ...... bombed the same old couple's garden. The old chap on the receiving end of this malarky told the local press that he had lived through the second world war without undergoing the attentions of the RAF but it seemed that they were currently making amends for their previous disregard. A bit like Brussels sprouts; apparently there is a substance in them that only some people can taste but which to them is fairly horrible. Hence to those people sprouts are revolting but to many (me included) they are quite palatable. Dave 7 1 10

RMweb Premium Andy Hayter Posted May 20 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 20 You are right @Grizz - apart from the leaf shape and the tubular flowers, it could easily be a hollyhock. Hollyhocks have rounded leaves and flowers that look a bit like some rose flowers. 4 3 1
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted May 20 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 20 Evening all from Estuary-Land. Done the 'big shop' at Tess Coes this afternoon, and at least with a bigger car its easy to fit in. While I was there I grabbed a bangers and mash meal from the reduced shelf, tasted even better being half price.

They are nice flowers, though, and we have them in our garden. Four to five feet tall is not unusual. Dave 5 7 3
RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted May 20 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 20 Good evening everyone I’ve had another good day in the garden, the cloud cover first thing was very welcome and lots of weeding was done. The sun finally came out just before dinner and I was glad to get out of it. The afternoon was spent in the workshop, painting the industrial locomotive chassis and making a few alterations to the body work. I went out just after 4 o’clock to complete the Sainsbury’s Grand Prix, as I was going into the car park, there were lots of cars leaving, possibly the school run exodus, but it meant that the car park itself was nearly empty, which was great. I was back home less just before 5 o’clock, so not bad at all. The evening was then spent relaxing in front of the TV catching up with the Chelsea flower show.

Bear gets grief, yet @jamie92208 gets “Whatever floats your boat” It’s victimisation against Bear, that’s what it is….. Where’s Andy….. Lets see if this gets him going - Golden Arches, Big Mac ...hmmm🙂 What a great weekend we had starting off with the Fawley Hill transport festival then a pleasant drive to Faringdon for the evening. Sunday morning another very pleasant 40 minute drive to Stow On The Wold where we were given free sausage rolls whilst setting the layout up in the ancient town hall. Its upstairs but the lift has always worked each time that we have exhibited there. By the end of the show we had eaten too many cakes then they came round and offered us the cakes that were left. Good job that I am not diabetic although one of our helpers is slightly but it didnt stop him having even more cake than us. My other half refers to this event as 'the cake show'. A very good drive back even on the M40 M25. Today has been hectic as had a voice message to say that Mums prescription tablets were running out and can I ring the doctor to reorder but the surgery said that I would need the list of the tablets and contact the chemists. However the doctor visited mum for a check up and found she wasn't feeling good after getting too hot in the conservatory. I managed to catch the carer and ambulance crew in her living room camera. I called the carer who explained what the situation was but he didnt call us back to say that they were taking her to hopsital. My other half caught part of the conversation on the camera so it looked like they were taking her in for the night for observation. We had a couple of beers to calm down in the garden then whilst eating dinner the hospital called to say that they may be releasing her after the blood test. They then phoned again to say they were discharging her and could we collect her. When I told them neither of us could drive now, they weren't happy but we can't be on call all the time. We didnt have much to drink but we just don't drive if we have had any alcohol and one of the beers was 8%. I had further telephone conversations with the carers to let them know what was happening. Then I got another call from the hospital to say that they were keeping her in overnight, so I will now go and collect her early in the morning. Hopefully I will get a good nights sleep now. And ‘Apparently’ it doesn’t go in the Miele washing machine…..Mrs Grizz was most emphatic about that. Regular readers may recall my visit to Conwy to the chainmail out fitters. They gave me three pieces of advice. 1. Do not fall over as you may not be able to get back up unaided. 2. Do not get near any magnets. 3. DO NOT GET TASERED BY THE COPS! It will really really hurt. Next stop York…..actually next stop is Comic Con at the Excel. ….And what lesson have we learned from this incident children? Don’t get hammered (tired and political) and then promise number 2 cub that you will go to Comic Con….in costume! Actually there's a good chance you won't feel a thing from a taser. 1, there's a good chance one or other or both of the flying pins will bounce off the chainmail. 2, it's highly likely it will short out the electrical connection normally the victim required between the two pins to make the circuit work. 6 2 5 3

I'm imaging "Electro" the Marvel villain (Max Dillon) with showering blasts of plasma from the extremities of the hauberk ricocheting all over the room (for a very, very small amount of time) after only one pin makes contact. 3

I believe it was used to treat my grandma who had heart problems. She died in the 1920's. Jamie 8 3
