What is less well known, is that his misfortune was noted by many British Motorcycle Manfacturers (as Puppers was famous to them for his skill in rebuilding classic British Motorbikes) who - working with skilled surgeons on the NHS - helped rebuild Puppers with parts from their stores inventory.... Forecast, an hours heavy rain from 08:00, we got 30 seconds of light rain at about 09:00 just before I arrived at the SC. That A400 aircraft was wandering around again, a bit higher than the other day.. but it seemed to be doing approaches to the Late RAF Coltishall.. Stern of BM sanded BM cleaned and hoovered out, Stern varnished. Cockpit side rails painted, Jib club rigged, Other ropes rigged as far as I could. Forgot the heat shrink, kevlar rope doesn't melt to a nice end and frays easily. So it's rubber dip or heat shrink the ends to keep them tidy. Heat shrink now in landrover. gas soldering iron was already onboard. Men filling in another hole, meanwhile they need to do the gas line to the Ferry Inn.. problem.. that road is below river level... They can't pump the water out fast enough to tunnel in the gas piping.. I bought some sweet pea plants as I feel it is unlikely that I can sensibly get the compost sorted out to sow my own seeds. If I change my mind in a few days I will simply end up with a few extra plants, no bad thing. I also found a couple of paperbacks jumped into the trolley as I walked past, I am sure I didn't see them until I got to the checkout. I managed to avoid a queue at the nearby roundabout as all the traffic was queueing in the right hand lane but the left hand lane is also marked for the direction they and I were l going in so I used it. It meant I got past about 12 cars in one go. Since I got home I have been working on a model, reading, doing a crossword and some gardening. The soil is far to wet to stand on and I can't bend or get down too easily so I used a long handled grabber to remove a lot of weeds while I stood on the path. It worked well and my scar didn't hurt doing it. I must remember that for the future. Waiting for confirmation from my boss that an e-mail I need to send to someone telling them why we'll be withholding tax on a large payment to them is OK to go. She's an hour ahead of me so I may have to wait a while - I suspect her gin & tonic was looking more tempting than my e-mail ;) When I was walking back to the house earlier, I noticed Grandma to the two little girls next door was backing out and pulling into the drive. What I didn't notice (and neither did she) until I got closer was that she'd taken out the corner of their wall. Her daughter-in-law appeared to be trying not to laugh - "It's only a wall"! Her son was not so pleased when he got back later. No-one hurt (apart from pride) and I am not sure the car was too damaged either. ION new next door neighbours (on the other side) are having an extension. we got the planning permission notice on Wednesday and two letters from different firms of solicitors offering us their Party Wall Agreement services. One says that the costs are "usually" paid by the person having the extension. But I do need to be pro-active or should I expect the next door neighbours and their architect/builder to be already doing this?
