RMweb Premium Popular Post polybear Posted March 1 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 1 Bear here..... Verysillyo'clock start (0430) so Bear could arrive for a piddle in the pool at 6am - Imustbenutzo. 30 lengths today - I did 35 on Monday but felt the worse for it later, so decided to throttle back a bit. When I went past the local Co-op @ 0530 there were Plod parked outside and the area was taped off, so something's "going down"; they were still there at 0840 - my money is on the place "being done" again. Just so long as they left the LDC/Carrot Cake/Pizza/Oven Chips well alone; Booze n' fags - help yourself..... B'sterds. Today? All the joys of the washing machine, plus it's piddlin' down; I'm also due numerous deliveries - including the notfaroffaDeltic new Shaver, so I don't want the Amazon herbert dumping that on the doorstep and scarpering (which they may well do anyway.....). RMweb Gold Popular Post Hroth Posted March 1 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 1 As its St Davids Day, I'm glad to say that I've found my copy of Welsh in a Week, a handy little booklet to help the reader "learn Welsh quickly by conversation". Only One Shilling! I don't know when it was published, but I think I got it in Barmouth over 50 years ago... The book gives translations for handy phrases, like the following, which are useful for travelling by train (apparently to Pembrokeshire). Do we change carriages on the journey? -> A ydyn yn newid cerbydau ar y daith? What is the name of the next station? -> Beth yw enw'r orsaf nesaf? I believe we are about ten miles and a half off. -> Yr wyf yn credu ein bod tua deng milltir oddi yno. I did not know we were so near -> Nid oeddwn yn gwybod ein bod mor agos. We shall be there in half an hour -> Byddwn yno ymhen hanner awr. This carriage shakes a good deal! -> Mae'r cerbyd hwn yn ysgwyd llawer iawn! Five minutes more and we will be there.-> Pum munud eto, a byddwn yno. The GWR wouldn't be happy abouth the characterisation of their services as slow and rough.... 18 2 1 1
RMweb Premium Popular Post PhilJ W Posted March 1 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 1 Morning all from Estuary-Land. The rain has stopped but it was persisting down earlier. A good night last night with only a couple of calls from bladder control and Arthur Itis appears to be on holiday. Will have to check in on the surgery shortly, no trace of blood since the weekend and everything seems to be back to normal except that there is still some swelling.
Popular Post Peter Kazmierczak
I'm fluent in Welsh. OK, that statement might be a slight exaggeration, though I do know two words; araf and ysgol... Happy St David's Day. 15

RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted March 1 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 1 Afternoon Awl, A dripping Wet Ben and me here... Rain stopped, time for a walk I says, waterproofs on, heads out with Ben, drizzle, gets out the gate, rain.. Gets onto mud lane, heavy rain, goes a hundred yards more heavy rain and large hail, go a few feet more and Ben says "S*d this for a game of soldiers", and heads for home. By the time we are back we are extremely precipitated. Coat, hat, gloves and Ben near fire to dry out. Before that much muddling done very happy with it. Muggasoup being drunk , when gone I need some sleep.

Popular Post monkeysarefun
Gotta admit, no rain to report here. Yesterday it was summer and therefore was 40, today it is Autumn and so it was down to 30. The leaves on the un-Australian trees will soon change colour and drop off and we'll all be out in our big puffy coats complaining about the cold. Popular Post Grizz
Actually, my nose has been busted up at least three times. Although to be fair only once was that accidental. At least twice, during my yooff, it was as a result of being ‘tired and political’ on Snake Bite and Black, in various thrash and death metal ‘Mosh Pits’….Didn’t even notice it at the time. But the hangover lasted so long I had to go to A&E… they said you’ve got a busted nose. Ah Happy Days. Probs explains quite a bit….like my loss of memory. Also my short attention span…and my short term memory loss, together with my inability to remember what I was saying due to my memory issues, and my not being able to remember er like stuff….and that. Did I mention that I sometimes forget stuff?
