When he's finished with them can he have a go at whoever thought that when I search for say "Cobalt drill bit" I am at all interested in about 50 hits from *&$#$*% "Temu", (whoever they are) for "1000 piece quality drill set for $1.99!" and so on? It infested all my search results until I finally found an extension for chrome that blocks it from search returns but they still pop up in RMWeb side bar ads. Similarly, could he add to his list whoever set up the site 'Quora", which seems to be Reddit for even stupider people. Google would prioritise Quora forum queries like "Are there any snakes in Australia ?" etc if I searched for say "Breeding months for Tiger snakes" or whatever. Happily the same add-on has blocked that too and I feel 100% smarter just no longer having to scan through quora entries in search results. Not sure if that says something about me, or our wildlife. 4 11
RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted January 5 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 5 Mooring Awl, Rain started around 21:00, Couldn't get to sleep for a long time, eventually got 5 hours, woke, it was still raining, got another hour and a halves sleep. Then Ben the meteorologist Collie said time for patrol, at about 08:15, he was correct it was not raining. We paddled out to the higher ground, water is running down the grass across the drive and out onto the road. Ben had a good squelch around having a good wander before we paddled back. Seaweed inspectors say more rain to come. Just had a tour round the broads webcams, the higher up river, the higher above normal is the water level, it's not like the Trent area, Shrewsbury and Tewkesbury, as there is more space for the water to spread out, but it will be a long time before the farm land surfaces. My old sailing club Haversham sailing club on the northern edge of Milton Keynes is on a flood plain, no doubt the authorities have shut the flood gates down river of the club , that reduces the flow through Bedford, but even in normal weather the club grounds flood within 3 hours, which is why the club is on pillars. I'm considering what to do this mooring, no more work today to the shed doors as that requires electric tools out doors. What I might do is reset the slabs just outside the doors, having noticed something has been digging under them , so they will be lifted gravel cement used to fill voids, then reset. The new position on the doors is about a foot further out than before. I had built a frame round the outside of the doorway to hold some of SWMBO's many plant pots, the new doors are attached to that. The move means that there are two inches more width to the doorway and it also gains an inch to the height. Time I think to get the wellies on. 22

Popular Post Grizz
We get a few Adders passing through the garden and paddocks on their way either up or down the hill to and from the flood plains. The chooks definitely don’t like them. As kids we were always reminded not to put your hands under things laying in the grass, especially long grass. Always kick the thing you want to pick up first. The same went to working on the railway and opening up the line side Location Cabinets (Locs), particularly in our local chalk Downlands. Adders used to go in through the ducting and wrap themselves around the transformers, cabling and relay equipment in the locs. The got pretty irritable if you surprised them, so in the spring and summer months we always used to give the doors a good kicking and leave it 5 minutes before opening up. By which time they had usually disappeared. On one occasion we got called out to a fault and upon arrival kicked the doors and opened them up….. to an eye watering, throat choking stench…..of gently cooking Adder. Poor thing had managed to wrap itself around a 650v bus bar. 10 14

Along with the mandatory "4 field rotation"... And if you could throw in a reference (with diagrams) to the formation of ox-bow lakes, you'd definitely be in the running for a high grade! Something along the lines of: "The incised meanders between the four fields eventually led to the formation of ox-bow lakes which had the effect of isolating Jethro Tull and Turnip Townsend on Islands in the Stream until rescued by an American country singer or two" Complete with diagrams. 3-D representations of an American country singer are not required. 2 2

Oh….well it seems to me that beetroot is kind of a ‘Marmite’ vegetable. Number two cub and I love beetroot, hot or cold. Mrs Grizz and number one cub think that it tastes muddy and can’t stand the stuff. We eat liver pate (leverpostej) and beetroot (rødbede) on rye bread. Classically Danish and lovely with a beer or schnapps. https://www.fabfood4all.co.uk/leverpostej-danish-liver-pate/ The grease is an optional extra…😄 Edited January 5 by Grizz 18
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted January 5 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 5 Morning all from Estuary-Land. A bit lot of dampness last night but its now cleared away. Apparently it will stay dry for the next week which suits me fine as Arthur Itis is now in hiding. Still a bit of rearranging of the boxes and contents to do. The boxes that I have come in two sizes 18 litre and 35 litre (the only difference is height so they stack easily enough) I have an item that is a bit too big for an 18 litre box and a 35 litre box that is less than half full so I'm going to swap over the contents this morning.

I love beetroot, as long as it's not saturated in vinegar, best boiled and peeled, allowed to cool and then eaten as you would an apple. 5 4 2
RMweb Gold Popular Post DaveF Posted January 5 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted January 5 Despite being very late visiting here today I have been up since 06.40 to get some jobs done before I went to see my GP at 08.40. I was seen a few minutes late and had a good discussion about urinary issues, prostate and hernia. The outcome was a simple prostate examination using a gloved finger, a decision to arrange a blood test to look at PSA towards the end of the week after next so as to allow things to settle down after today's examination. As for the hernia I will contact the hospital and arrange which consultant to see, the GP will then write the referral letter. This will not be on the National Health. I could wait for an NHS appointment but the outcome might be serious. If it gets much worse I am to dial 999. I've taken down the Christms decorations - I'm never sure whether to do it on the 5th or 6th so decided to get it done. They are now in some new plastic boxes in the garage to save going up in the loft in future. In the past few days I seem to have been very busy and feel a bit tired and have pulled some chest muscles moving things so am going to try to take it easy for a little while. Fortunately the heavy jobs involved in clearing things out have been done for now. I am beginning to think seriously about my books and hobby stuff and wonder how much of it all I really need to keep. I think I will make a decision depending on how the health issues progress.
