RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted December 1, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 1, 2023 Good evening everyone I was able to obtain a light for outside the workshop from the big orange DIY shed. So once back home, I made myself a muggertea and headed out to the workshop to fit it and connect it up. It was whilst doing so that I remembered just what I don’t miss about work! Anyway, it only took a couple of hours to complete the job and it was put to use this afternoon, when Charlie came round. I initially set the delay for about 2 minutes, but it was still on when I was locking up the cellar door, so I’ll turn it down to about 1 1/2 minutes the next time I go to the workshop.

RMweb Premium Popular Post jjb1970 Posted December 1, 2023 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted December 1, 2023 When my wife worked as a teaching assistant she was always taken aback by the number of reception class children that had severely retarded speech development, were still using nappies, had behavioural issues etc. She worked as a special needs assistant giving 1:1 attention. Her view (which tended to be supported by subsequent development of most of the children she supported) was that in most cases it wasn't a psychological or behavioural problem which was retarding development but a lack of parental care and attention. 9 8 3
RMweb Premium Popular Post skipepsi Posted December 1, 2023 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted December 1, 2023 Mobile phones, no end of times mothers would push their children to and from school no interaction with their child all locked into their phone. As a retired behaviour support teacher there were many other things that parents did or didn't do but that was the one setting up their child to fail from an early age. 14 3

Greggs, the high street … err … bakers have decided to open a ‘high class’ bistro type restaurant based on their products. For your delectation a steak bake (pasty), truffle dauphinoise and green beans. Another offering set your gastric juices a-flowing is a Full English Breakfast based upon their sausage rolls. Disappointingly they did not say whether it included beans or not. And no, it’s still not April 1st. Greggs? Greggs!!?? RMweb Premium Popular Post jamie92208 Posted December 1, 2023 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted December 1, 2023 (edited) As the grandfather of a lock down cohort child there is a problem. Emily did benefit from being in nursery through lock down but has had to learn to socialise in larger groups. Though some of her language took time she has plenty of attention and support and has come on by leaps and bounds since she started school in September, however my daughter has heard of problems on the grapevine. GP's are also worried about kids not having been exposed to the normal childhood illnesses. iL Dottore
If one was jaded, cynical, (and a bit of a class warrior), one could come to the conclusion that all this poor parenting, and the resulting dysfunctional children, is a deliberate ploy to create a permanent underclass which can be exploited, in various ways, in order to obtain corporate and political benefit. It’s also instructive to note that those who “excuse” (if not condone or facilitate) such behaviours, rigidly ensure that their sprogs do not end up amongst the “untermensch” (to borrow from Nietsche) they are creating. 8 3
RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted December 1, 2023 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted December 1, 2023 (edited) Good morning all, Another frosty one and neighbours are scraping windscreens. Like PB I don't miss going to work in that either. A fine, cold and mainly dry day with sunny spells is forecast. -2°C rising to a high of 5°C ...possibly. A landmark has been reached here as I now have completed 75 solar orbits. Where did that time go? I feel very lucky to have got this far as quite a few relatives and friends never did. Now aiming for the royal telegram! 😂 (As long as I stay fit and sane enough to read it) The Boss is treating me to breakfast at our local garden centre although I doubt I'll go for the Full English and just have the smaller lighter breakfast as lots more food is due to be consumed today and tomorrow. Nicki Is visiting later for lunch and this evening half a dozen friends will be here for drinks and a bite to eat. Tomorrow night other family members are coming to dinner. There may will be some rugby watched or recorded as well. Timetogettamoveon. Have a good one, I'm pretty certain I will. Bob.
