If I could afford a leccy MG, I'd go for the MG4, even that is several multiples of £9k for a cheaper one. I wouldn't have that grotesque Trump-colour that's advertised on the telly, the grey is more restrained and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb...

Once again it has been a quiet day.  As usual I went to the Thursday service at church, fortunately I took my keys with me as the churchwarden was a bit late arriving.  There was the usual nice cup of coffee and biscuits afterwards.  I heard a bit about the problems caused by the heavy rain at the end of the Great North Run in South Shields last Sunday, two of the people at the service had been caught up in the flooding.

 

Afterwards I had an enjoyable walk along the promenade which is now the preserve of older people, the holiday season is clearly over.  Today all the dogs were very well behaved.

 

This afternoon I moved the small area of soil in the garden I mentioned yesterday and sorted out the plants.  Now it is to sit down for the evening with a good book and some nice music.

About £50000, and I suspect that won’t be for the twin motor AWD version. Apparently it is bigger than a traditional MG, more like a Jaguar F type.

We had another trip out to RHS Hyde Hall today. I wanted to try my new boots out on various surfaces to see if they suited me. My ankle still hurts a bit after the fall earlier in the summer but it wasn’t more sore with the new boots and there was no,swelling when we returned home. It was a nice excuse to have lunch out. When my heart was being naughty, getting up to the restaurant at the top of the hill was something of a challenge but that is fine now. 
I did some minor jobs about the house and garden. Aditi made some scones totake over to Enfield on Saturday. Something went wrong, she said she was tired and didn’t roll them enough and they came out very tall. I thought they looked splendid but more conventional ones will be made tomorrow for public consumption. 
We were going to sit and watch a TV programme together but Aditi has to write a report for the person who did their French Zoom lecture last night. 
While we were out we had a text from the people who monitor MiLs pendant/fall alarm. They want to upgrade her from her current analogue phone based system to a mobile network system. I rang them up and was dealt with very efficiently to make an appointment when we can be there.I think the person we spoke to was probably pleased that she didn’t have to explain why it was happening. We would have been contacting them anyway soon in response to messages from BT.

Evening all,

 

Something of a MIUAYGA day, various oddments done. Including the weekly ordering of the carrots and lettuce. Some flower seeds arrived, some for autumn sowing and some for spring. The leaves are losing some of their green and some trees are starting to moult.

Which is why if you watch flight radar long enough each of the RAF Rivet Joints has a couple of friends and a Voyager with them.

Thanks, but I think I'll stick with IDSPIDY (TBH it's highly unlikely I will ever get another sports car.) The weather is great here at the mo and we made a big circular tour through much of the backwaters of the state around the St Maries and Coeur d'Alene river catchments. Lots of nice twisty hilly bits with lovely vistas and hardly any traffic. Had the roof down all the way. Down to the 40s overnight here which means IDSPIDY will be in hibernation before too long.

Good news on the animation front. I can import detailed 3-D parts from Turbocad into Blender. That saves a huge amount of time learning how to create them in Blender and lets me focus on learning how to animate them.

The reports I saw said they are escorted now but weren’t at the time of the incident. It also said the RAF are the only manned surveillance flights in the area. The Russians knocked down a U.S. drone earlier this year in international airspace. 
Shooting down reconnaissance aircraft doesn’t always lead to reprisals.

My friend Dennis should have been on this flight out of Japan.

Evening All,

A very unproductive day here from start to finish.

Spent three hours trying to fit replacement bush to motorhome before it popped off and got lost in the bottom of the engine bay. There’s a sort of tray under the bay so dropped items don’t fall through and on to the ground, they just become unretreaveable . Another one has been ordered. It is a very, very tight fit and a lever bar has to be deployed.I think I may run a file through the hole before the next attempt.

Thought this was interesting and thought  @PupCam may be particularly interested.

Good evening everyone 

 

The weather, although it never actually chuckeditdarn, did however prevent any work outside. So, I stayed in the cellar and get on with a few jobs that have been outstanding for over a year. My first task was to permanently fix the window sill in place, followed by fixing the fireplace sub-surround in place. I then retrieved the 6 new lengths of architrave from the underfloor storage area, then measured up and cut the 3 pieces that will form the fireplace surround proper. All the parts of the fire surround is just pinned or screwed in place at the moment so that when I install the laminate floor, they can be trimmed if necessary. Then, as I’d got the tools out that I use for cutting the architrave, I decided to cut and fix the architrave that will surround the access hatch to the underfloor area and the door. These 4 pieces have been fixed permanently. Finally I decided to measure and cut the architrave that will go around the cellar door, this again just pinned, so that like the fireplace surround, when the flooring is installed, they can be removed and trimmed if necessary.

As it turned out, I never actually got to do anything in the workshop today. Charlie got in touch with me this morning and said he’d been out last night in Manchester with some friends and was feeling a bit rough, so he was going to stay at home instead.

The Americans are "trailing a coat" using Poseidons, Orions and a gulfstream cl60 by the looks of it. They don't put their IFF on on their Nickel Rivets/Rivet Joints.
