The telescope mounting clamps include standard camera 1/4" Whitworth threads (male and female) so the easiest thing in the world to mount the camera. The only slight drawback is with the wider FoV the local light pollution would be even more intrusive. With next door's illuminated pergola (we're surprised that a couple of Easy Jet 737s haven't mistaken it for Luton's runway ...) and half a dozen 500W+ security lights in other gardens going on and off at random it's a miracle we can see the sky at all (That might constitute a micro-rant 🤔). I reckon you should just give it a crack anyway. I've posted some here before like this one, done just in my front yard as a test. There's a street light to the left and the neighbours porch light in front. It's done on a pixel 6 using the astrophotography mode, it's just 16 shots stacked ( processing took about 8 seconds!) and if just those few shots got this much data despite the light pollution, then with your camera with it's bigger sensor and using 10 times the number of Images you should do ok. Even if it doesn't go too well it's better doing a trial run and sorting out issues in the comfort of your own yard, than discovering them when you are in the middle of a dark paddock or whatever. What have you got to lose except the tips of your fingers from frostbite? Edited January 19, 2023 by monkeysarefun 18 1

A grand total of two bits of wood cut - in fairness they had to be a sliding fit between the side frames of the Leccy C.U. Box (so numerous trips into the back garden were involved in order to minutely trim the ends using the mitre saw were involved until they fitted). I also had to defrost the shed padlock first..... Now I'm waiting for all feeling (or any feeling, for that matter) to return to the hind paws before moving onto the next mission..... 18

You could always come here and fill four barrow loads of logs then wheel them down and stack them. That certainly thawed out the forepaws despite the gloves having frozen up. The gloves were fully thawed out by the time I finished. Hind paws were warm and toast as well it's 80 yards in each direction. Overfished and depleted in Asia, wild caught Abalone is limited to only a few fisheries, southern Australia is the major one and licensed Abalone divers can make a fortune. Licenses to fish for Sth Australian abalone change hands for millions of dollars. Back in the early nineties there were stories of abalone divers working in the remote southwest corner of Tasmania who would get pizzas delivered from Hobart by helicopter...

RMweb Premium TheQ Posted January 19, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 19, 2023 Afternoon Awl, Kit of parts for doors assembled and glued now under tins of paint while it drys. It will need some screws to hold it all together when unweighted. Pad on top of centre console roughly shaped and glued in place also under weights. Rudder sanded , then the leading edge was given layer of fibreglass reinforcement. Ben took me for a full long walk, he was very happy, having a good snuffle all the way round.

However, not having the telescope on the mount would make an adventure to a local "darker sky" location much easier. Something like this would be something to aim for but I'd have to substitute Langford water tower and a puddle for the lighthouse and the sea 🤣 https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=5951733914904658 And, just to show the image was not a random collection of splodges created with Photoshop, here is the analysis of the scene. Unfortunately no notable named stars but I deliberately avoided those to concentrate on dimer objects. Very pleased with the result; there's a lot more "enhancement" potential with this image than any of my previous efforts that have only stacked 10 to 20 images primarily because there's much reduced background. Small steps! Back later. Alan Yes Thank you Mr Puppers but I'm afraid you can only make one submission for the Astronomers Royal post. No we haven't decided yet, we're are still considering applications. Yes we will let you know if you've been successful. Next please. My god he's a determined so and so 9isn't he. RMweb Premium Popular Post PhilJ W Posted January 19, 2023 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 19, 2023 Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Just ran the bath this morning when Si Attica jumped up. I only just was able to to get int the bath, and out again after my ablutions. Both Nurofen and co-codamol seem to have little effect so I will have to lie still on the bed.

Popular Post Ian Abel
BIN day... they appear to be back on schedule as two of the three services picked up by 8am already, recycle us usually later in the day anyway! Another day gone and still no contact with the "pest control" barstewards about the double billing. May have to visit in person!! Yesterday, all quiet, nothing to report of any interest. Today much of the same work-wise Jemma will be dropping off Whitney soon, she's off again to Heathrow, couple of turns over the next several days. Tonight, choir rehearsal, provided it's not "called" due to weather We're expecting 3-6 inches by the end of the day. The schola are supposed to sing Saturday at the funeral of a long-time choir member at the request of his wife. We'll rehearse the necessary pieces after the main choir practice, so a later than usual evening. Snowing already and -3c and BIN time, zero the expected high, snow most of the day. Tally ho. 17
RMweb Gold Popular Post BoD Posted January 19, 2023 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted January 19, 2023 Curdyturses as they say. The bulb has gone in the oven. Can I unscrew the glass cover? Can I heck. It hasn’t been unscrewed before and the oven is 5 yrs old. I’ve tried heating the oven to see if the metal might expand a bit but I’m not sure how high to go whilst still being able to grab the bulb with oven gloves on. I don’t fancy breaking it either - although I can get a replacement if necessary.

RMweb Premium Popular Post PhilJ W Posted January 19, 2023 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted January 19, 2023 Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. A couple of hours laying on my back has made Si Attica go away for now but he's still hovering in the background. A bit of good news, the diecasts I was looking for have been found, right under my nose, quite literally, I can see them from where I'm sitting at the lap-top. 2 hours ago, jamie92208 said: Sadly no cake but plenty of snow at the moment.
