Possibly an agency worker, they have yellow vests rather than RM red  Martyn does for his shifts at the depot.

I've never heard a fox make a noise like that, obviously its being kept as a pet. The warm weather has affected the local foxes as going by the mewing noises late at night  there is a litter of cubs in the area. Sadly if there is a cold snap they are unlikely to survive.

Aditi’s brother ( he is 60 next year and probably going to retire or at least very significantly work less) I think had probably thought that but got married 11 years ago to someone who was in her early 30s. So Raj is contemplating retirement at about the same time as elder child starts secondary and younger child starts junior school. Every other adult of his age  at things he takes the girls to is a grandparent. Though when I took Matthew to things people seemed to assume I was his grandparent.  I was 40 when he was born.

Yes Almost 16 years of detritus,

1 carrier bag filled, one normal work bag filled, much more than that palmed off on my replacement.. 

Just the stuff I might need left now...

 

Also spent an hour transferring files across to him via our common hard drive space..

 

The second system was not finished in time to set the cross check off.. cal extended till next week,

The first system is still running it's second Cross check, if it don't finish soon I'll have to abandon that and just extend the previous cal..

Today dawned grey and drizzly with the temperature just above freezing.  It is now a bit less cold but still dismal.

 

Yesterday was much the same.  I had a walk as far as the local garage and then back across the field which was very refreshing, I must get a thicker sweater out to wear under my coat!

I then spent some time checking my accounts for the month and reconciling them with the bank statements, I also made a note of what I've spent dealing with Mum's estate so far which took the rest of the morning.

 

After lunch I braved the cold again and went out into the garden and did some more tidying up, I also finished cleaning the staging and shelves in the greenhouse.  There isn't much left to do now until next Spring, the shrubs so far not pruned are best left until they start to grow again.  In due course I will go through the plant pots, seed trays and so on to decided which are worn out and must be thrown away - there are not many like that as far as I know.

 

By the time I'd finished it was geting dark so made a mug of tea and just sat in  the warm for a while and read until it was time to get "proper" tea - a nice cheese sandwich,

 

I sorted out some more photos to go on the web in due course and then spent a quiet evening with a bit of reading, some TV and 1930s music.

Update:

I always wondered why Ebay emails showing items which may be of interest to a certain Bear never include the picture when using Outlook - I messed with the Outlook settings but couldn't fix it.  A sudden lightbulb moment today and I wondered if it was due to the "strict" setting - so I set it to "Balanced" and the ebay emails suddenly displayed the photos when using Outlook 😀.  But as soon as I started viewing RMWeb I got this bluddy annoying Digitrains advert....🤬.

It's now back at Strict and that's killed Digitrains once more; it only seems to be Ebay emails that are affected (other emails include piccies no problem) so I'll just vary the Edge Privacy Setting as required.  Sorted.

 

In other news......

Evri delivery arrived as promised 😀 - but I only knew because I got an email; no doorbell, no door knocker, no tw@t shoutin' thru' the letterbox - nothing.  And he dumped it on the garden flowerbed...and left the front gate open.  Double Tw@t.  That's a Rant.

It's a length of 20mm dia. bright mild steel bar - I plan to use it as required with the Proxxon Bench Drill in order to increase the distance between the chuck and the table.

I had one of those once.  The postman crouched at the front door and gingerly pushed it through the slot.  I had answered the door by the time it was halfway through and found him crouched in front of me.  

 

Upon enquiring if anything was amiss I received the answer that he was crouching to post the item because it was labelled "DO NOT BEND"

BIN day, BINs out and done fairly early.

Yesterday was another quiet one, punctuated by Brendan stopping over to retrieve Whitney.

 

Got a message late evening from Jemma that she's now qualified on the B757 and B767 - yay.

She has one more week of training starting in a few days to do the B767-400ER specifics in the sim and international operations stuff.

 

Today will be off to choir practice and pre-rehearsal happy hour later, so glad I've got heated seats and steering wheel on the new(er) chariot.

 

Considered S0DDING cold this morning IMHO, at -14c buqqering about with the BINs. It IS sunny but doesn't help much, high of -1c forecast.

Watched the T20 Test match today. Obviously young Harry Brrok did listen to what I said to him at U15s and U19s.

 

Since then.. card writing and sound fitting has occurred.. should finish both tasks tomorrow all being well.

 

It's really turned wintery.. gloomy skies and a very cold atmosphere.. luckily no wind here to blow the chill through me!

I tried that.   That worked!    Well done Bear you are now officially an IT specialist (no salary increase unfortunately)

 

And although there is only one quote on this occasion this is actually a multi-quote using Edge.    No irritating DigiTrains video and hopefully all ads should be gone soon now I've coughed up.

One mounting hole drilled and tapped, two to go.    As anyone who has ever tapped a hole knows; less haste more speed is definitely the approach.   A broken HSS tap in a hole really spoils your day.

No I signed up for Gold but it appears I used different Email addresses for RMWeb and WOR and  so the association didn't happen automatically (fair enough).  Andy has recently done it manually for me so all in the garden should be rosy 😀   (Apart from Firefox ...)

The ads are less pernicious today*, though the other artifacts like gaps between posts and reduced margins still appear. It's weird how 'random' they are.

Would more thinner layers be better. I do layers of cotton stuff and feel much less bulky for the same warmth. Learnt the principle from  hillwalkers

Evening all from Estuary-Land. Went into the kitchen a short while ago and it felt really cold. The thermometer is reading 20C though so it might be my walking in from a warmer room. Forecast is that its going to get colder next week but remaining dry.
