RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted July 28, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 28, 2022 Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Arthur Itis has been grumbling again but the Nurofen is kicking in now. RMweb Premium Popular Post southern42 Posted July 28, 2022 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 28, 2022 ' evening all from red dragon land. A couple of offspring visited at the beginning of the week which was very refreshing. Lots of chat especially with youngest who we last saw over two and a half years ago. Muddling has gone well (for a change :-) though I have to wait until Saturday to do some more, unless there is nowt on tv tonight which I may be able to use as an excuse to do some this evening. 🤞 Toot on the flute is mainly going ok. I decided it was time to tackle the next raga (a full 7 notes as opposed to 5) which should help my usual stuff (mostly folk and Irish tunes, a couple of pop songs, and a bit classical). The notes as played on my flute are those of D major but starting on the 5th note thus A B C# D E F# G. It is amazing how different it sounds. But I am already discovering that it is making my usual stuff easier to play which is good. Click and collect, today, not so good - 2 unavailable to order plus 4 unavailables with order. Thankfully, the latter four do not matter for now but my blackcurrant&blueberry and spice ginger teas DO! I am fast running out. I am thinking of adding them to my online list of small bulk orders. Uncertain times and all that. Ah well. Polly

You do need to be a bit more specific, dear fellow. We need the units so that we can commiserate accordingly. We’d look a bit silly saying “oh gosh, that’s hot” when it’s actually 90°K (- 183°C. -297.67°F) p.s. most of the above temperature scales have been around for a while, so can be considered “old” Sheer laziness! It would mean I have to get up and read the thermometer which is all of a metre away on the wall!🙂 Brian
RMweb Gold Popular Post Tony_S Posted July 28, 2022 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted July 28, 2022 After our gutter improvements had been completed we drove over to Enfield to see Aditi’s uncle again. His trip to Newcastle was cancelled so he had an extra day with Aditi’s Mum. While we were there our nephew Josh sent a message that there was some sort of incident outside his GP surgery and they were in a state of lockdown as bomb disposal and snipers were deployed. They spent the rest of the afternoon contacting patients who had been due to attend and dealt with others by phone. When they were allowed to leave they couldn’t take their vehicles so as Josh lived a mile away the colleagues went to his house to carry on phoning people. He had to take public transport to Brighton for his evening “out of hours” GP session. Tony 1
Popular Post andyram
Evening all. Generic good wishes to you all. RIP Bernard Cribbins. I sit here looking out on the sunset over the wash with a pint of local stout in hand. It is tranquil moment at the end of a hectic day. We returned to Sheringham this morning and I finally managed to get a trip on the North Norfolk Railway. The fire risk still meant diesel haulage, but I was not too disheartened by the green liveried Class 37. Prior to the trip we revisited some of the shops. Amber was on a mission to purchase more ear-rings even though she cannot change her current studs for six weeks. I managed to pick up a few pieces from one of the antique shops which should bring a small profit back in Matlock Bath. Things started to go wrong back at the station. I had wrongly assumed that we could pick up some take away food from the station buffet at Sheringham. Not so! This set Sarah off in a bad mood, not helped by the screaming children forming part of two other families who were in our open carriage. It did not make for a restful trip up to Holt. At least we managed to get some sandwiches and take away coffees there and found a compartment for some peace - only for Sarah to complain it had no table! You really cannot win with her sometimes!! On return to Sheringham we visited the arcades and were dragged around the shops by Amber once more. I did pay a visit to the beer shop and it is one of their ales I am enjoying this evening. I had hoped to get back to the station in time for the 3.45pm train, but Amber's additional shopping put paid to that. Things did start to get a little fraught at that point. I think Sarah and I had both seen enough ear-ring and toy shops! The drive back to Hunstanton did not help. The coast road is not the best, with narrow sections through Cley and Stiffkey. Not places to meet buses or beer lorries and we found both! There were also cyclists aplenty so things took much longer than expected. Sarah opted for a sea-front pub for our evening meal as a change from the one in the old village. The food was nice enough, although I have had better and the place was very noisy. The food was certainly better, however, than the complaining older couple on the next table considered it to. I am sure they only moaned so much to bag the free bottle of wine! Tomorrow is the last day. We are off to the lavender place tomorrow and then will definitely make the real ale place in Wells. Take care. RMweb Premium Popular Post BSW01 Posted July 28, 2022 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 28, 2022 Good evening everyone As I mentioned earlier, after dropping Sheila off at her Zumba class, I then went to fill up the car. I called at Costco and put in just over £70 worth of fuel, I paid £1.687 per litre, which is 10p a litre cheaper than the local Asda! Once back home, I headed off to the workshop and carried out some experiments with my delay circuit and some MERG modules that I’d already built. Everything worked as I’d hoped it would so I’ve contacted MERG to see if they would like me to write up what I’ve done. The answer was yes, so over then next week or so, I’ll write a description of what I’ve done and take some photos of my work. My scan this afternoon as inconclusive, apparently I was full of wind! This meant that they couldn’t see the artery and I’ll now be referred for further scan. It should be within the next 3 months but will be at Wythenshaw hospital, which can be a real pain in the @rse for parking. When I told Sheila she laughed and said “so it’s now officially, you’re just full of wind!” Some people just have no sympathy whatsoever. 1

RMweb Premium Popular Post BR60103 Posted July 29, 2022 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 29, 2022 I was diagnosed with a blood clot or DVT on Christmas Eve. I've been on blood thinner pills ever since. And my wife has been checking my body for possible bleeding. Today the doctor gave me the news that there is no sign of the clot as of the last scan (Monday). So I'm off those pills. 13 4
RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted July 29, 2022 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 29, 2022 Scotland, Connecticut? Mooring Awl, Another improvement in sleeping, 6 3/4 hour in bed, with just 3 wake up and turn overs. Unfortunately this has been followed by falling down the stairs, just the bottom 3 luckily. My right foot slipped, impacting on the following step, before me ending up on my backside at the bottom of the stairs. So there is pain from my right heal, and lower back. We'll see how bad that is later. The stairs in this house are much steeper than normal, we have both slipped several times until I removed the carpet. Since then I've painted the steps with a non slip paint but that is now coming to the end of its life. Non slip is a great improvement but is harder to keep clean... Our stairs / hallway are next in line for a rebuild, one side of the hallway has been started with book shelves, the stairs themselves will have pull out drawers/ slide out cupboards from the side instead of trying the ferret in from the end cupboard door. Added to the joy is the forecast, just on when I started typing this, the seaweed inspectors are now saying heavy rain on Sunday and naff all wind. I filled up the car yesterday, still 184.9p a ltr in Tes and co's here. Our own local tes and co's still has its PFS in pieces, the new tanks are in but there is no sign of them covering them up. Also bought yesterday was bread and filling for sandwiches to take to the bring a plate night Saturday evening at the SC. Time to, try for another hours sleep.

Major incident on I-5 during rush hour tonight - a truck carrying LNG burned and shut down the road for a few hours. Also, a ferry hit the dock in Seattle which will put it out of action for days. More chaos as it will hinder many commuters to add to their. misery Otherwise, its another hot over 90 degree day here in GH with another tomorrow. This is getting old! Brian.
