That's an interesting one; how much tea do you need in an infuser for a mug of tea, and how does it compare price-wise with Tea Bags?  Presumably the tea leaves are only good for one mug of tea and then have to be binned.  We're talking the stuff the Chimps on the Telly drink here - not your namby pamby stuff that tastes like washing up liquid or perfume.

Being a single Bear it doesn't make sense to make a Tea Pot of the stuff.

My teapot holds three mugs full, I usually fill it up enough for two mugs of tea. You can now get infusers that you can use in a mug, just google tea infuser mugs. You can get ones that can be used with any mug (about £5 upwards) or mugs with their own infuser (from about £15). Etched metal ones are best. You only need about a teaspoon of tea for a mug depending on how you like your tea.

I'm afraid you are wide of the mark there.

You can get plastic free ones (List from Country Living):

I had a check and the research is American, where some teabags are 100% plastic.

Even existing practices are having problems finding GPs to fill vacancies.

The same situation here in France. Dentists are in short supply as well.

I have a cousin who still runs this kind of race at the age of 75. He says that, as long as he doesn’t expire on the course, he’s guaranteed first or second place in his age group.

There's just the two of them, I infer.

My current PT regime (for my dodgy hip) is being administered by a nice physiotherapist (with “steel thumbs of terror”) in person. We are masked and we use hand sanitiser, but PT still goes ahead.

Same here!  Comes twice a week for an hour or so, same anti covid deal and neither of us has succumbed as yet!🙂

No, there are more than two in the age group. It’s just that my cousin knows that, on his day, he’s one of the best in the group.

Surely they could save the frontage of the M&S building.

The problem is some buildings become unsuitable for current uses over time I think it is something we will see more as the High street continues to decline

It really is a sad state of affairs.

Having been involved with deliveries to sites in Central London I bet it will be an absolute swine of a job to get materials to

Evening all from Estuary-Land. Saw the vixen moving one of her cubs today. It was dusk and she was going towards  a garden shed across the way well away from any houses. She was holding it by the scruff of the neck and it looked very small so was probably only a week or so old. The only noises this evening are the muntjacs.

We have been using the Clipper brand for some time now. We started using them as the bags compost down without leaving a plastic mesh like the brand we used to use. Also their English Breakfast blend makes a strong tea without being bitter.

I empty the used tea leaves into the kitchen caddy which goes to the council composting. Its as easy as using tea bags. I've been using loose tea now for quite a few years, I buy it in bulk 1500 gram at a time and it works out cheaper than any of the supermarkets.

He reckoned it wasn't really 'that' hard #cough#, having later climbed the highest peaks in all 7 continents, he is in a position to judge!

If you start early enough you can get to the highest peak on this continent  by lunchtime, and its wheelchair accessible.   (theres a trickier challenge in PNG which often gets used as a stand in...)

HUMP day, and sadly for the "over here" delegation it actually IS. No 4-day weekend for us poor minions.

Didnt you say the same thing at Christmas? Whats going on over there - are public holidays considered communist, like socialised healthcare and gun laws?

It's called Government of the people, by the rich, for the rich. Possibly coupled with an extreme version of the protestant work ethic which tends towards living to work rather than working to live.

With the exception of Christmas day*, there are no religious US Federal public holidays, consistent with the first amendment.

* Not that it is celebrated as a religious holiday by many.

There are now eleven:

New Years' Day*

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Washington's Birthday aka Presidents' Day (Washington's and Lincoln's birthdays)

Memorial Day* (commemorating those who died in the service of their country)

Juneteenth** (commemorating the final pronouncement of the end of slavery)

Independence Day*

Labor Day*

Columbus Day / overlapped by Indigenous Peoples' Day in many states

Veteran's Day (commemorating all who served)

Thanksgiving Day*

Christmas Day*

* Most private companies observe these on the day and offer 'floating holidays' for the others.

** New in 2021. I don't know if companies will regularly observe this on the day

I understand Australia has only seven, though most states make up a couple of extras. Arguably not very different in spirit from Australia Day, ANZAC Day, the Queen's Birthday etc.

The UK seems to have eight or nine, though there is also a Platinum Jubilee holiday this year.
