Pfizer worked exceptionally well with SARS-CoVi-2-Alpha. Less so with SARS-CoVi-2-Delta (though it still has relatively high efficacy against serious illness / hospitalization and death). There are breakthrough cases with fully vaccinated people. The US CDC is now recommending a third dose of the Pfizer vaccine, 8 months after the second dose. I should be eligible around Christmas. (I had no reactions to the Pfizer vaccine, though I will say the injection site was a little sore - on and off for a while.)

 

We will end up with annual CoViD vaccines, much like the annual influenza vaccine.

It was very kind of so many ERs to make encouraging comments following the latest news of my cancer.  When my more rational moments return I may feel better about it but right now I am disappointed that the PSA reading has risen.  I do know that Professor Oncologist has a wide range of weapons at his disposal with which to fight the wretched condition.  I am as certain as I can be that I am in good hands and that means a lot.

 

My friends in Sidmouth sent me something nice yesterday – a video of the Sidmouth branch and related lines.  I have to admit that I decided to watch it instead of what I had planned to do, which was to make a start on getting the jungle under control.  That “pleasure” remains!  Meanwhile I enjoyed the clip of the dancing monkeys but look forward to the real Riverdance next month.  My late father was truly captivated by Riverdance and at the age of 80 made a lengthy journey to see a performance in Brighton.  I am glad that the forthcoming performance will be in Milton Keynes!

Its saturday, its cricket day and.....its raining...PAH!

 

I need to collect some bacon, some lamb and mint pies and a large growler for various meals so I will visit the butchers shortly (they open at 7am).

 

Youngest Herbert has had two moderna jabs. He felt a bit meh after them but reckoned it wasn't too bad.

 

Time to drink my mugatea and set off for the butchers...

03:00 Ben the unsettled Collie, came up to see us, something upset him.. not long after I got up and came downstairs as he was pacing around. He did settle in his bed while I got another hour and a bits more sleep on the sofa.

 

06:00 Ben the I want out Collie appeared, so we've been for a stroll, semi clear skies, some dew, no wind.. The grass is getting a bit long but the mower still sick, I'm going to give it a short run just to get the main path down to the mobile home cut.

 

Woke with right forepaw painful inside the knuckle area, don't know why that in particular, it's not the normal warning of impending soggyness. That and a headache has meant two little pink pills along with those medically required have been taken.

 

Once the mowers said enough, it will be back to shelf building on the landing. During the week a plan has been formulated, reformulated, and thought of again. I'm sure the plan will change again for this awkward bit that is next.

 

Once this muggacoffee has been drunk, breakfast will be made.

Hummm this tablet seems to have forgotten previously stored odd words like muggacoffee, methinks there must have been an update.. 

 

Time to drink.

At those prices I'd strongly suggest not ordering anything though......I've a feeling you might just be a little disappointed....

 

Bear is currently researching suitably sources for boxes of parts which, when assembled, are hopefully capable of rotating and making items which run on parallel strips of metal point in a different direction entirely.....

 

Bear may get a bit of the G word done this morning, namely the removal of unwanted green things growing where they are not wanted; it's supposedly due to p*** down this afternoon so the window of opportunity is limited....

 

A bit more fettling and touching-in of paintwork may happen in the kitchen also; I also have the previously mentioned levelling of sockets to investigate.  That'll do for starters I think.

Good moaning from the prisoner of Zenda.  Hopefully  I will be released at Midnight on Tuesday. The lurgis still seems to be in retreat though which is good news.  My o ly remai i g symptom i a slight temperature.  37.9 last night.. i certainly feel a lot less meh  and am just very grateful to the developers of the AZ vaccine,  bil has now been joined in isolation by Sil.   

 

I spent quite a bit of yesterday outside, muddling in te sunshine helped at times by a 2 yr old.  Sharps had to be kept out of the way. Something recognisable  is emerging. 

 

Not a lot else to report today.

Morning, it persisteth down. 40mm so far and still at it.

 

Typical, as a trip to the deep south is on the cards to visit a private, and extensive, 7 1/4" railway today.  We're still going, as we've been waiting a long time to see it.  USA diesels job (the owner is American) although they used to have a steamer, not sure if they still do.  Those of you (Dave!) who have ridden on the IoM steam railway may have seen this line as it is right next to the 'main line' near Port Soderick.

Morning All,

Dont usually post in the morning but have read all I need to and can’t get up.

swmbo is laid on my arm and as she’s had a rough night I’ve decided to let her sleep.

Not sure what we were going to do today but swmbo’s condition and the fact that outside look very wet makes things a little more tricky. We had spoken about calling bil to ask about taking Sydney for a walk but swmbo’s ‘delicate’ condition has ruled that out. 

I may do a bit more paperwork or house chores or I could be the absolute gent and sacrifice all and sit here in bed supporting  SWMBO.

Better move on and see if anyone has posted something of interest.

Morning one and all from an unforecasted sunny Kernow.

 

Trying to decide to either go for a blast or a more sedate paddle with the kayaks around the Lynher/Tamar whilst the sun ( I think it's the sun) is peering through the many clouds we currently have overhead.

Just glad we didn't pay a small fortune to holiday here, prices are currently extortionate!

 

Poly I share your pain, tho much fun and joy has been gained attempting to solve the 180° rotational problem.

 

I've added a 'clip on' to a certain wooden/ mdf creation in the spare room but alas it's still NOT big enough.

Morning all.

It is quite cool and overcast here now. Rain is forecast for later today. No gardening today, we are going to Enfield to visit MiL. MiL has just telephoned to say the lift isn’t working but it isn’t a problem for us, even when I was visiting the heart failure clinic which was also up three floors I used the stairs. This was when Covid was very active locally and I thought the lift was a rather enclosed space. I am not sure MiL could manage three flights of stairs though so I hope the lift engineer arrives soon. I don’t think she was planning to go anywhere else this weekend anyway.

I looked out earlier and saw what I thought was a dead cat. Fortunately it turned out to be a piece of black plastic probably dragged in by the foxes. Muggatee waiting to be drunk, be back later.

Good afternoon everyone 

 

Once again I'm late on parade today, but I've been busy working on the cupboard. The other day I did some tests using the rose stencil on a scrap piece of MDF. I found that the paint leeched under the stencil far too easily, so I used a denser foam which seemed to work a lot better. So today I have made 2 stencil pads, each slightly larger than the rose itself. One is Foam, the other has a felt type covering. They are sat waiting for the glue to dry, so I'm doing likewise with a muggertea. Hopefully they will be set after dinner and I can try them both out.

Afternoon all from a wet West Yorkshire.

All outside jobs on hold due to bad weather its August ffs where is the sun there was meant to be an August heatwave happen its had to self isolate.

 

The majority of the remains of Ferrybridge power station go boom tomorrow morning  the skyline will certainly look very different. We heard the last explosions.

 

It is being live streamed on the tinterweb so that's where I shall be watching. Pontefract Castle would make a good viewpoint if i could get there

In our drive over here to Enfield I mentioned to Aditi it was midday in August and my headlights had just turned on. All the people heading the other way to the coast will be enjoying Southend in the rain.
