Evening all from Estuary-Land. Now that I have purchased a new TV set the old one has decided to behave itself. I've managed to watch the news and an old film (The Bridge at Remagen) without any problems. My day out bag is tidied up and packed for next weekend. I'm planning to go to Tinkers Park which is practically next door to the Spa Valley Railway. Thats it for now, be back later.

The plug was replaced, petrol turned on and the carb suitably tickled and some attempts to kick it into life were made which at first were not successful due to the combination of the slipping (oily) clutch and Pupper's reduced kicking ability.      Putting it in top gear and turning the rear wheel by hand enabled me to get it past top dead centre and then a might kick on the starter saw it burst into life relatively easily in the end :yahoo:

Why not just push the button?  Ah yes, Puppers doesn't have one of those.....

Well the above was supposed to have gone this morning, but when I opened up this tablet it was stuck on "saving" so I reopened another copy of the rmweb , opened the editor there it was and saved it again.

How do you open the editor?  It may help for when a certain Bear screws up replies - like wot just happened when replying to these posts.....

We have been debating a Ring doorbell for some time now to save going down 2 flights of stairs in a rush

After the events of today so am I - though it seems you need a subscription to be able to access "old" video recordings

The news yesterday informed the collecting "us" that passport renewal is not around 18 weeks as folks start gearing up to travel again. Given mine (US, UK one already needs renewing and I delayed that due to the COVID) expires in January 2022, so now is the time to start THAT process if we want to even think about heading to Blighty again any time soon - i.e. towards the end of the year

We used to feel that way but the last time the PPs were returned to us in record time.  Don't really need them but as we're still British citizens we have to have something.  Its not the hassle it once was!

The worst thing, though, is that I can't do anything meaningful in the workshop as wearing my close-up glasses is impossible because of the damn great dressing.

I know this is just a temporary situation, but would something like this be useful for both now and the future?

You can get versions with multiple lenses of different magnifications but (from personal experience) those can be quite heavy.

Evening All,

Sorry to  hear the news regarding Tigerburnie’s brother and congratulations to the Abels.

Helped mate around at his new house. There’s a great deal of work to be done before he and his SWMBO can move in but that going to be in about two weeks so he’s going to be busy. More help may be needed.
SWMBO used to work at Weston Park hospital, a specialist cancer hospital in Sheffield, in the pharmacy preparing the chemo infusions. This was in the early 90s so probably before the ‘wonder’ drugs that Flavio speaks of.
Anyway getting late so goodnight,

Robert

02:30 I've had very little sleep. There is loud "music," playing, echoing across the Broads,  I went for a wander but the noise is inland from here. I suspect an illegal rave is going on... The noise started around 21:00

Nothing terribly false about the advertising because the authenticity issue can be open to all manner of interpretation.

Indeed Rick. As I'm sure you well know, Australians are pretty sanguine about an "authentic" Aussie barbie. I'm thinking in particular of "the song".

If you found that the "snags all taste like fried toothpaste", then they got it about right! ;)

Incidentally it is interesting how badly "the internet" lyrics websites get much of this song wrong. I saw one that substituted "snacks" for "snags".

Even the linked version had a couple of changes to the words. "Bloody last time" comes to mind.
