My crap builder did one good thing and that was the plumbing. Inline valve, easy to reach, flex fittings.

Flex fittings?  Have been known to let go with age.  Bear has just had to use a couple under the kitchen sink, though not out of choice.  I was VERY careful to ensure the bends were VERY gentle, with no twist on the flexi either.  I've also got a water leak/flood alarm under the sink unit, just in case.....

Good morning everyone

It's was beautiful sunny day here in England's northwest, but it has just started raining, so currently sat in the workshop having a muggertea. Up late again this morning, so straight outside to do some work in the garden. Mainly dead heading, but there are a lot of petals that need picking up, so, before starting, I made a tool to make the job a bit easier. It's a bit like the tool the old parkie's used to carry around with them. Basically, a short pole with a spike on the end, hands up who remembers them eh? It works a treat!

Will a paw up count too?  Probably not a lot of good for parkie nowadays, as they're no doubt classed as an offensive weapon - as well as being not a lot of good on empty laughing gas canisters....

That's when the majority of litter was paper. when cans came in they had a harder time, and not so much use on plastic bottles.

Tap replaced. Took longer to find the long pipe wrench than the actual swap over. My other honey do items for the day are complete. Now I can take it easy for the rest of the day. Maybe do some of that M word that is verboten on this list.

Come on chaps!

The Parkie!   Are we living in the past (I think we might be)?    The days of the uniformed,  almost military Parkie, keeping the little scrotes in check, the park safe and secure and making sure little old ladies are escorted out the park well before closing time have been gone for sometime I fancy!

I should imagine a Parkie's main responsibility these days are filling in an Excel spreadsheet and doing a Powerpoint presentation on diversity statistics of park users whilst being careful not to offend anyone and I bet they wouldn't say Boo to a little scrote for fear the parents might come round.    Some call it progress .....

I've already filled and emptied one bag of garden waste after the rain stopped. It's now almost full again and the rain has returned, pah.

I may have had a problem with premature submission, seems others have a more serious problem with multiple submission!

ChrisF will be pleased to know that not only does Bristol have a rainbow bus, it also has a rainbow street crossing. He may not be quite as happy to see that, within a week of its completion, it has been vandalised.

Not happy, true, but not surprised.  I suspect that those who display hostility towards Pride are considerably outnumbered by those who show support.

Vandalisation, to me, means nothing any more! It can happen to anything, anywhere. Nobody will ever be happy with everything.

What amazes me is how do they get there to do it? Locations are often so remote that Google Satellite view does not offer an insight!

Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. The Windows weather report has excelled itself again. After the dry rain this morning it is now reporting 'Mostly sunny', the sunshine is of the wet variety. Now to watch 'Death on the Tyne' on the Drama channel. Most of the other TV this weekend is a load of balls.

It's summer season so the muckdonalds wrappers start appearing in the roads as they chuck them out of the windows nearing the caravan sites..

It may well be the case that those show show hostility are conspicuous by their doing so while most people are either supportive or quietly neutral on the subject.

Clapham Junction gained a blue plaque with a rainbow around it recently to mark the time when Oscar Wilde was subjected to homophobic abuse there whilst in transit between Wandsworth and Reading jails.  It attracts some attention; it is often photographed and sometimes the subject of abusive comments in its own right.  It has had to be cleaned of spray-paint once or twice despite being sited in full view of two CCTV cameras and platform staff.  Not everyone is happy to accept such things in the public eye nor to accept the inclusive society we hope to have in 2021.  But most people are simply curious and a few comment positively that it is good to see.

Our regular "trainbow" unit 444019 appears most days on Weymouth line duties, and occasionally to Portsmouth.  It too attracts a level of attention which within my knowledge spans the range from "Oh wow" via "That's good to see" through to "I'm NOT travelling on THAT thing" - so far only two comments of the latter nature are known to have been made.

Good afternoon all.  A very quiet and dull day it has been Upon the Hill of Strawberries.  I slept poorly and got going late in part due to some nocturnal activities upstairs which involved bed, wall and moaning sounds.  I think they were re-arranging the furniture ;)

The weather hasn't been conducive to going out - not wet as threatened but damp and intermittently drizzly.  The laundry again refuses to dry in this humidity and the relatively low temperature for the time of year.  I have been grovelling in the dust connecting wires to other wires.  It must be time to leave that and persuade a pizza to enter the oven.

I'll be back.  Best wishes to one and all.

Evening all

Been busy in the garden this afternoon so just catching up with posts

I wish I could have had a sharp.stick when I was litter picking to prod some of the people.you come across. It's all ages that drop litter some would drop it deliberately in front of you, some would see that you had litter picked they would chuck it deliberately.

The worst parts of our round were a parade of shops locally known as the Magnet in Airedale and the roads leading from Cas town centre to Cas High school after dinner time that was a sea of sh1t.

I have been wondering if by any chance we are beating the Italians by half time they will change sides.

Greetings one and all ...snip... New in Bristol in honour of Pride is a double decker bus with rainbow stripes – and electronic destination displays rather than roller blinds, apparently.  Well done to those who made it happen! ...snip...

Best wishes to all, with warmest thoughts and fingers still crossed for Gordon S.

Depending on the sign, it may have color capabilities; that opens up a vast world of possibilities.

Evening all from Estuary-Land. Found another couple of paperbacks that haven't been read yet so something to do when kick-ball is on the TV tomorrow. Now to tackle Farcebook, be back later.
