Inline valve, easy to reach, flex fittings. Flex fittings? Have been known to let go with age. Bear has just had to use a couple under the kitchen sink, though not out of choice. I was VERY careful to ensure the bends were VERY gentle, with no twist on the flexi either. I've also got a water leak/flood alarm under the sink unit, just in case..... 7 minutes ago, BSW01 said: Good morning everyone It's was beautiful sunny day here in England's northwest, but it has just started raining, so currently sat in the workshop having a muggertea. Up late again this morning, so straight outside to do some work in the garden. Mainly dead heading, but there are a lot of petals that need picking up, so, before starting, I made a tool to make the job a bit easier. It's a bit like the tool the old parkie's used to carry around with them. Basically, a short pole with a spike on the end, hands up who remembers them eh? It works a treat! Will a paw up count too? Probably not a lot of good for parkie nowadays, as they're no doubt classed as an offensive weapon - as well as being not a lot of good on empty laughing gas canisters.... 13

AndrewC
Tap replaced. Took longer to find the long pipe wrench than the actual swap over. My other honey do items for the day are complete. Now I can take it easy for the rest of the day. Maybe do some of that M word that is verboten on this list. 15 2

Nobody will ever be happy with everything. What amazes me is how do they get there to do it? RMweb Premium Popular Post Dave Hunt Posted July 10, 2021 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 10, 2021 Sorry to read about the mist, fog, rain, plagues of frogs etc. that some of you are suffering. Here where I am minding some friends' property and animals in the Welsh marches country it is lovely weather and since I've nothing much to do I'm sitting in the sun, looking out over the countryside and sipping an efternoon G & T. I'm not usually one to gloat....... Dave 19 1
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted July 10, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 10, 2021 Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. The Windows weather report has excelled itself again. After the dry rain this morning it is now reporting 'Mostly sunny', the sunshine is of the wet variety. Now to watch 'Death on the Tyne' on the Drama channel. Most of the other TV this weekend is a load of balls. 8

When I started out in my career of park maintenance/management it was with the City of London Parks department- long since gone in one of those 'big is beautiful' reorganisations, and we had park keepers who were responsible of keeping the 'oiks' in check. In fact when I moved on I worked with a team of dog handlers and several motor cyclists all of whom were in the Recreation Division. By the nineties it was Park Rangers and 'edukation' for the little darlings. Now even the rangers have gone but no one seems to have told the scrotes.

RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted July 10, 2021 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 10, 2021 Afternoon Awl, About 20 slabs moved and 100 bricks, the piles of spares are getting ever taller. Then back said enough as did the rest of me, the whoo midity is horrendous. I then reset the boat on its supports. Put the seat in, got in and played with a bit of wood, trying to find a suitable position for something to control the steering, After trying many angles with the bit of wood coming towards me like a reverse tiller, it became apparent that wouldn't work, as if I tried to stand up the bit of wood was pointed to where it hurts. So I tried side to side movement that would work except the control wires would have to go through my legs.... So a twin sticker it is, one each side pivoting on the floor giving about 12inches fore and aft movement, so the wires woul come from the rudder head, either side of me , to be attached to the sticks, then on forward crossing just behind the mast and joining there. Then to what to use, I intended to use a couple of old snooker cues, they obviously heard they were going to get their ends chopped off and hidden themselves.. SWMBO suggested some old walking sticks and returned with a couple of the old basic bent wood variety , very short in the first place and there is no one left in the family short enough to use them. Not even SWMBO and she's 5ft nothing. These have turned out to be perfect in shape, shortened even more to about two foot long, arranged so the handles point inwards. And the verticals go down the side of the chair, The handles will move fore and aft from just above the seat arms to well forward. Giving me full range of my arms without any strange positions. Both sticks have been adjusted and cut to size. They'll need reinforcement where the pivot will go through, then sanding and varnishing. Time I think to inspect eyelids.

You have touched upon one of my pet hates - litter. Why are the British/english- whatever you call the inhabitants of this septered isle, so free with litter. It isn't the case on the continent. What is it with us. There can be a bin within easy reach and we still drop it. What's more we moan about it but don't do anything about it. If everyone picked c up one piece of litter when they were out and about there wouldn't be any. Sorry but I did warn you it was one of my pet hates. 3 12

It may well be the case that those show show hostility are conspicuous by their doing so while most people are either supportive or quietly neutral on the subject. Clapham Junction gained a blue plaque with a rainbow around it recently to mark the time when Oscar Wilde was subjected to homophobic abuse there whilst in transit between Wandsworth and Reading jails. It attracts some attention; it is often photographed and sometimes the subject of abusive comments in its own right. It has had to be cleaned of spray-paint once or twice despite being sited in full view of two CCTV cameras and platform staff. Not everyone is happy to accept such things in the public eye nor to accept the inclusive society we hope to have in 2021. But most people are simply curious and a few comment positively that it is good to see. Our regular "trainbow" unit 444019 appears most days on Weymouth line duties, and occasionally to Portsmouth. It too attracts a level of attention which within my knowledge spans the range from "Oh wow" via "That's good to see" through to "I'm NOT travelling on THAT thing" - so far only two comments of the latter nature are known to have been made. https://attitude.co.uk/article/new-rainbow-plaque-unveiled-commemorating-when-oscar-wilde-was-a-victim-of-homophobic-abuse-in-1895-1/21432/?fbclid=IwAR3P_G4mSLUWLvowoewIPQO0-2oVDUapE9ylO_T2uwltcgw800QQXJxSR3M Good afternoon all. A very quiet and dull day it has been Upon the Hill of Strawberries. I slept poorly and got going late in part due to some nocturnal activities upstairs which involved bed, wall and moaning sounds. I think they were re-arranging the furniture The weather hasn't been conducive to going out - not wet as threatened but damp and intermittently drizzly. The laundry again refuses to dry in this humidity and the relatively low temperature for the time of year. I have been grovelling in the dust connecting wires to other wires. It must be time to leave that and persuade a pizza to enter the oven. I'll be back. Best wishes to one and all. 16

simontaylor484
Evening all Been busy in the garden this afternoon so just catching up with posts I wish I could have had a sharp.stick when I was litter picking to prod some of the people.you come across. It's all ages that drop litter some would drop it deliberately in front of you, some would see that you had litter picked they would chuck it deliberately. The worst parts of our round were a parade of shops locally known as the Magnet in Airedale and the roads leading from Cas town centre to Cas High school after dinner time that was a sea of sh1t. I have been wondering if by any chance we are beating the Italians by half time they will change sides. 1
