Sir TophamHatt
Morning all. Very slow day today. But then I was super speedy catching up at work earlier. Perhaps I should have spread the jobs out a bit. Was poorly last week with some sort of stomach bug that really took it out of me for a few days. But it's Pay Day on Friday, which I thought was in another week or so that's a bonus. Need to tidy the model railway room and get back on it this week too. 16

Anyway, they are extremely slow on corners, particularly roundabouts, but hammer along quite swiftly on the straight which makes them a bit difficult to overtake. The RU registrations were issued by Bournemouth from August 1962 until January 1964. IIRC several coach operators there had new coaches with such registrations. Its likely that it came from an old coach that was either scrapped or given an 'age related' registration. If you wish to transfer a registration the donor vehicle must have a valid MoT which means that several preserved vehicles have been scrapped because the registration matches someone's initials. I would love to have the registration that was on my first car, scrapped many years ago but DLVA will not allow it. 3

RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted June 23, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 23, 2021 Morning all. It is a nice sunny morning here. I have already been out to post a large letter for Aditi and deliver a sample to the doctors surgery for her too. I was careful not to mix them up. They have a contact free system for leaving samples and collecting new sample containers. One is a pedal bin, the other is a cardboard box. Aditi is off for a blood test after lunch. These tests are for a diabetic review. Mine is next week. I wasn’t asked for a urine sample, so far just blood tests and the retinopathy ( which was fine, no problems found). Popular Post The Lurker
Greetings all from Sidcup where for once it is sunny albeit not that warm. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Baz. Mrs Lurker attended the annual review of Younger Lurker today - but this should not be a controversial one so I was effectively told not to come. In a few years time this will be evidence I don't get involved . I have not heard how that went. One positive is that Younger Lurker has decided he will stay late at school and attend a year 7 football tournament set up by his peers to raise money for a local hospice. He's going to watch but turned down money to make a donation / by sweets etc but definitely a positive step for him to want to do something like that. My work here was interrupted to note start of the funeral procession of the bloke who lived over the road who died at the bank holiday weekend. Enjoy your day! 3 1
Popular Post jonny777
Dry and sunny in North Somerset. I now have SWMBO's lurgy - mainly a cough (but I have no temperature and still have my sense of smell) but also a feeling of exhaustion if I do anything. I ventured into the garden and watered some of the tomatoes, but had to sit down for 5 minutes between each watering can-full because the little effort I had done felt as if I had just tried to run 5km. Oh well, I can't go anywhere today because the CH boiler is going to be serviced this afternoon. At least sitting in the garden watching the bees does not take much effort. 1 1

As for how many life sentences that equates to, it would depend on whether or not time off for good behavior is being applied. As this is Baz we're talking about, I assume not.... In other news: The roofers are cracking on nicely - it looks like the rear will be completed today, including replacement of the tiles. Not sure if any of the front tiles will go back on today or not. As for a second coat of paint on the chimney, this has been mentioned and approved without problem During discussions with the boss, i casually asked how much I'd saved by "using" nearly new neighbours' scaffolding for my own roofing job - apparently something like six hundred quid. I'll not mention that little detail to the neighbours.... And Bear's last bit of good news for the day (so far): The new sink and tap were delivered at 9am this morning - so that means all systems go for worktop templating on Monday . Apart from that, (a) the washing's done, and (b) buddy next door assisted Bear in confirming that a 2.9m long piece of Granite *should* be able to be delivered into the kitchen, which is A Good Thing. On the downside, no progress has been made on the F/F "framework". Must try harder this afternoon.... 18 1
RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted June 23, 2021 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 23, 2021 Hmm that darn editor struck again overwriting what I'd written, with old stuff while I went off to do something else. Sadly the handicap Spreadsheet has to be handed over to the New club handicapper when I've finished and I will lose all control of it.. He's a Maths teacher So I won't get away with much, it's more a case of getting a reasonable handicap in the first place, the old handicapper was so cautious the handicap he gave me meant I lost races by a loooong time.. Maths Teacher? I remember him as a bump in his mum (not Guilty) Then progressing through A, B, C, Ah, Buh, Cuh, and Alpha Bravo Charlie... all before he was 5... Yep his Dad is the Clubs Radio Officer,, His Dad sits only 20ft away from my non lab desk at work... Time I went back to the lab this weeks major system is measured.. I now have to assess the results.. More spreadsheets.

Popular Post Ian Abel
Congratulations to Baz and the Mrs. HUMP Day. Yesterday little more than the chiropractor visit for the Mrs, slowly improving things, and a walk for Whitney given the weather was exceptionally nice. Today, have to go to the rental as they are having some refrigerator problems <sigh> may well just be time to buy a new one! Later, walkies unlikely as we're heading back for miserable weather again. 12 first thing, full sun and humidity on the uptick, high of 32 expected <phew> Later... 19 1
RMweb Premium Popular Post Barry O Posted June 23, 2021 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 23, 2021 Her indoors went to have a ladies chest x ray. Total chaos as, despite confirming her appointment the NHS checkpoint charlenes had not added her to the list. This supports my theory that the nhs has a single flaw... it cannot join the various bits of information they have together. When large organisations have been paid ruinous amounts of money to link everything togetger they have never had any real idea of doing it.PAH! Now she has to wait 3 weeks for the results.... Off to talk to Dr Eldest Herbert then..cricket! Many thanks for your best wishes. Baz 1
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted June 23, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 23, 2021 Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. The change in the weather bought Arthur Itis out to play so a brace of Nurofen has been taken. Filled the car up earlier when I went to Tess Coes, the price of petrol seems to be going up almost daily and thats without the usual summer holiday price hike. When I was commuting by car there was a noticeable rise in the price of petrol whenever the school summer holidays arrived. Tea has brewed so be back later. 17
