Very worrying especially since she was only chatting with the Mrs on Friday. Was released Sunday, having recovered from what seems to be one of the strangest things one can get! Certainly a new one on Bear (not that I'm an encyclopaedia when it comes to medical issues) - I've heard of a TIA, but not a TGA. Perhaps she can use it as a excuse to "forget" to pay what is probably going to be an extortionate medical bill.... Yet more tiling carried out - looking good so far - and the last remnants of SLC were also decided to be more beneficial on the floor than in the bag; Tiler sounds confident that no more will be required More fixing of tiles tomorrow, with grouting on wednesday - and maybe briefly on thursday too. A bit of a pain as I have a jab booked for wed a.m. - so it looks like that's out of the window now. Fortunately I have a "plan B" jab booked for sat a.m. too, which is actually a lot closer to home too, so no harm done (unless of course Bear gets the really sh1tty end of the stick and manages to catch the lurgy in the couple of extra days it will take for the plan B jab to become effective. Then Bear decided it was time to go for a walkies - the last time was so long ago (santa hadn't even considered loading his sleigh yet...) so duly carried out, after first applying plasters to my heels as I've a suspicion that they've "softened up" due to lack of use. Google Maps tells me I walked 2.4 miles apparently, in virtually dead on an hour (though some time was lost at the cash point, and also sigh-seeing at places I used to deliver milk to when still a tiny cub). Feels a lot further now I'm home... must make it a very regular thing again. 18
RMweb Premium Popular Post Barry O Posted March 22, 2021 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 22, 2021 An interesting phone call has been received from the Marie Celeste.. Receptionist " right I can organise a review for you" Me " i have got one.. on (date and time)" Receptionist " No you are not booked in" Me "well what about the email from "askmyGP" saying I have one?" Receptionist "hasn't been confirmed yet.. is teh time ok?" Me " do I need a fasting blood test - if so can we go a lot earlier ?" Receptionist " I have one at 8:55am" Me "sounds good" Receptionist .. " do you need a a fasting test? hang on I will talk to a nurse".. phone goes very quiet then "the Nurses aren't answering the phone. oh hang on there is one here " phone goes quiet again.." are right no you don't need a fasting test" Me "so is the 11:49 still on?" Receptionist " no but I can now do 10:30"... I GIVE UP!!! This is probably why her indoors and herself do not have a date for our second jab(!). So.. my tests will be this month.. no idea when I will get the phone call covering my test results.. the Marie Celeste may be in for a shock as all these new tablets and jabs are having a very positive effect on my blood sugar levels and weight (down to less than 14.5 stone lost about 6.5 kg in about 20 weeks).. So we have to use a new system to talk to the surgery "Askteh GP" - even if there is no way of saying anyone else other than a GP on the system (!) as the phones are not manned, the email system is disconnected and you can't organise an appointment by the NHS website anymore.. RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted March 22, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 22, 2021 Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Joints are still aching, it can't be the weather or can it? Anyway I 'Yellow carded' it this morning. The doctor on the Jeremy Vine show this lunchtime was speaking about what some people have described as symptoms of having the jab, one even claimed an increase in flatulence! . One other chap woke up with a black eye, his wife had a problem convincing people that she wasn't responsible. The doctor explained that it could be something to do with platelets and the reported blood clots. I've been looking at the cost of clear Perspex or acrylic for the layout. Not much change out of £50 for a small layout, ouch. 2 1 2 3
Popular Post Sir TophamHatt
That's it then. Spring solstice is passed so electric blankets have come off the bed, mattress turned. The only thing I didn't do was change the duvet to the summer one but it may be a touch too chilly for that. We tend to do it around the time the clocks change but had some free time today so washed the mattress pocket thing (ours comes in a little zipped protector), meaning I'm getting into a proper fresh and refreshed bed tonight. I'd do a customary jumping on it but too tired. Will save that for another day! 22

It was quite scary. He knew who he was and who everyone else was and where he was but seemed to have been rewound to an earlier time, usually only an hour or so. One May he had been revising for GCSEs and had a seizure. After recovering and coming round he was convinced it was March. No recall of anything after that. After a few days everything came back. I felt so sorry for him thinking he was going to do all that revision again. 2

The graveyard shift news (the subject of the polka) is actually likely to cover a broader more global range of topics. Having said that, even in the 30 minute evening network feed, their London-based reporter is a very frequent contributor. Popular Post Ozexpatriate
It is well and truly Spring here. As I left for my daily constitutional the sun was shining so I grabbed sunglasses. By the time I locked the door heavy clouds were everywhere. Rain threatened but halfway through my walk the sun reappeared. Home and by the time I finished showering, it was raining outside, followed by bright sunshine and now, an hour or so later, hail. 17

" do you need a a fasting test? hang on I will talk to a nurse".. phone goes very quiet then "the Nurses aren't answering the phone. oh hang on there is one here " phone goes quiet again.." are right no you don't need a fasting test" Sorry to hear your story, I fear it is typical rather than unusual these days. A short while before I jacked in the daily grind a couple of years ago I was down to have my 6 monthly check-up at the local GPs and, as a precursor, blood tests etc were arranged ( "No a fasting blood test is not required on this occasion") and a follow up visit to discuss the results with the doctor was made for 3 weeks time. So, on the appointed test day I got up, had breakfast, dropped by the GP's surgery for the blood letting and then went on my merry way to work. The next morning whilst engaged in a particularly tricky rocket science problem I got a phone call from the surgery that went something along the lines of: Surgery - "Hello Mr Puppers, it's the surgery here we've got your results back. I see you have an appointment to see the doctor in 3 weeks time but the doctor would like to see you sooner so can we bring the appointment forward?" Puppers - "Oh yes, that should be OK, when do you want to make it?" Surgery - "Sometime today?" Puppers (slightly anxious) - "Er, yes, OK this afternoon after 3:00?" Surgery - "OK, 3:30 this afternoon, See you then" Later that same day in the doctors consulting room with a new, never seen before doctor Doctor - "Ah Mr Puppers, sorry to bring your appointment forward like that but I've looked at your results and I'm very concerned that you are now diabetic" Puppers - "Oh no! Don't you have to have a fasting blood test to determine that?" Doctor - "Yes" Puppers - "Well I was told I didn't need a fasting blood test on this occasion so I didn't and I had breakfast before coming to the surgery" Doctor - "Ah! That would explain it, we'll need to repeat the tests and you will need to fast beforehand. While you are here I'll just check your blood pressure" A short delay while blood pressure is checked .... Doctor - " Your blood pressure is very high Mr Puppers" A little voice in Pupper's head - "No Sh1t Sherlock!" I understand the new doctor has now left the practice. As it happens I need to see the doctor for something (you know, like have a proper consultation and examination not a 5 minute phone call while they are probably checking there Emails or RMWeb posts). What's the chances of getting such an appointment at the moment? I know, I'll go and buy a lottery ticket instead. Alan 1
