RMweb Gold Popular Post The Stationmaster Posted March 2, 2021 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 2, 2021 Morning all, Brightening up outside although still a grey day, sunshine is promised for later. Today's big news is that the rodent has expired, It would appear that the version of warfarin it has been exposed to is a good deal less helpful to its state of health than the version I take - but it;s still taken almost a fortnight to do what it says on the tin. Rather puzzlingly it would seem to have relocated itself from the kitchen to the utility room (unless it could open and close doors among its other talents such as eating the cooker wiring. Anyway I found it late last night in a state of deadness on the utility floor so it was on with the rubber gloves and duly bag it up ready for the rat catcher to collect it. The latter obviously knows his rats as he was due to return tomorrow anyway, I'll see if we can get an earlier visit. Anyway that's a great weight of everybody's minds and the cats will soon be able to have their food dishes back in the kitchen which will definitely cheer them up. Now to find someone wo can rewire the gas ring igniters on the cooker. And on that cheery note I wish you all a good day and stay safe. 18

His actions are the reason for the less-than-ideal relationship between Bear & Brother. In lighter news, Bear has survived pruning the roses and hydrangeas in the back garden unscathed, along with various other plants and a minor tidy up too. Din dins now. Pizza? Decisions, decisions. Then it's off to the Co-op for various provisions, as Bear is out of bread and milk, and bananas...and satsumas....and CAKE!! 5
RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted March 2, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 2, 2021 Good morning everyone Very late on parade this morning, mainly due to the lack on internet this morning, apparently the whole area was off! Also I had an early (8:50) appointment at the dentist, which thankfully went well and no work was necessary. Then it was home for breakfast and then a trip to Waitrose for some stuff that we can’t get locally. By the time I’d done that and had a brew it was gone 11:30! There are no plans for any sort of DIY activities today, so I’ll sit back and read the latest copy of BRM that dropped on the doormat last Friday and has remained unopened since then. Stay safe, stay sane, enjoy whatever you have planned for the day, back later. Brian

RMweb Gold Popular Post The Stationmaster Posted March 2, 2021 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 2, 2021 (edited) The Rat Catcher cometh - right on time for his revised (this morning) appointment. I note according to his business card that he has a BSc - rodent poisons or mechanical trap technology I wonder? PS. Actually it's a degree in micro-biology so my first guess wasn't all that far off, er sort of Edited March 2, 2021 by The Stationmaster 9

Hang on, this is cake we're talking about here.... Bear has just returned from a difficult and dangerous expedition to the local Arctic Tundra (ok, so it was village Co-op); Er'ers may be amazed that Bear purchased NO cake, despite being devoid of such supplies. A couple of packs of Hot Cross Buns and two packs (=4) Treacle Puds *may* have been rescued though...neither of which are classified as Cake - right? 5 2

Now Mr Bear that all depends upon your interpretation of 'cake' doesn't it? Does it have a preserve in it? Yes. Is it made out of sponge? Yes. So what do we say now Mr Bear? Yes it is a cake. Go and stand in the corner and think about what you tried to do and when you finish thinking about it we may send you a piece of cake if you apologise to the ER's. Popular Post Ian Abel
Morning all, Chewsday and... I've survived another trip around the bright yellow orb in the sky <hooray> One of my favorite lines from Monty Python/Holy Grail -> "I'm 37 I'm not old". Always recited every year, family aren't buying it though To celebrate, and I'm sure in part due to my very distant Scottish heritage, I was off first thing to redeem my FREE birthday coffee at Starbucks. Can't pass up FREE! Since it's only 1/4 mile away I'd usually walk, BUT, as it's right next to the garage we use for auto repairs/service, I decided to drive and avail myself of a car wash - needed around here when we have snow finally melting - as it's always quiet there first thing. All that done, will do some casual work today and maybe decided to quit at lunch time, although given the current "circumstances" there's not really much to do anyway <sigh>. Been promised an Indian take-out for dinner from my favorite place, followed by the Mrs specialty cheese-cake which she makes for me every year - YUM. Sadly I can't invite Bears or Hippos over, so I'll have to finish it all myself <burp>... The "party" will include myself, the Mrs and Bob and Whitney, such fun. -8 and sunny as I went for my FREE coffee, going to manage +7 today, the snow will be fast disappearing around here. Stay safe and well everyone. 17

RMweb Premium Popular Post New Haven Neil Posted March 2, 2021 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 2, 2021 A'noon. Pfizered, it must have been set to gentle stun. Fingers crossed so far, just a very odd feeling arm, and a hint of headache. NHN doesn't get headaches as a rule, so presume it is the juice causing it. Nurse was a drop-dead gorgeous Spanish girl, I was going to say it helped with the pain, but there wasn't any. Very fine needle indeed although quite long, really hardly felt it. Even Andy would be OK! Lovely and sunny here, looks gorgeous out. It's 4c, barely.....'feels like' 2c. grumble mutter. 3 week circuit breaker in place from midnight as another case with no viable trace has popped up in the community. Pah. Again hints between the lines someone, somewhere, hasn't told the Track & Trace team the truth about who they, errr, liaise with. Chief Minister saying another month and they would have been reducing restrictions on borders in stages, to the 'just cope with it' level, that'll get the isolationists on their high horses. We can't remain in splendid isolation forever, (ooh O level history!) and need to get to a vaccination stage where we just have to cope with whatever happens. 11
RMweb Premium Barry O Posted March 2, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 2, 2021 Happy Birthday Ian! In other news.. well.. not a lot has happened here today. I managed some more mudelling .. in preparation for house cleaning tomorrow.. pah! The Shark will be wielded.. It appears that the might of German industry can now alter the laws of physics.. really! Bit like german cars and pollution tests....problem is all the people in the UK who could explain this to the people in the decision making process have retired(!) they will have to learn the hard way but are putting UK servicemen and women at risk... Now, for tea it will be snake and ale pie with peas.. (I think). No puddings though (although we did have home made goosegog crumble (no sugar in it at all!) last night. Time to get tea ready.
