RMweb Gold Popular Post Tony_S Posted February 21, 2021 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted February 21, 2021 If it had been 12C in the summer I would have thought it was a bit cool but it was quite nice to sit in the sun after I had put the new garden arch up and reattached the plants. The youngest child next door seemed pleased to see me and informed me that one of their dogs had been sick three times. She always keeps me informed about interesting things happening! 18 1
RMweb Premium Popular Post New Haven Neil Posted February 21, 2021 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 21, 2021 Evening. Winslow chap, the dynamic positioning of the Rock has been made redundant by the fact we are now aground on the thrown away alcohol bottles - the '80 thousand alcoholics clinging to a rock' comment has some truth to it - not this small bear though, hardly touch it now. Nor am I one of the uber rich, unfortunately.... The rather sunny and pleasant afternoon was spent awakening three of the motorbike fleet, one of which will behaving a modest trip out tomorrow. Probably the ugly modern one. Sitting in the sun with a brew was sooo pleasant, after the weather of the last few weeks. Mrs NHN was at archery, came second to the really good guy, quite pleased with herself as it has been many weeks since they were able to shoot.

There was a news item about a week ago about lockdown causing a surge in demand for second hand books. Not to read but to fill the bookshelves used as a backdrop when doing Zoom meetings, you order by the metre. I have plenty of books anyway, about 6,000 at the last count. Sounds like we need @Tony_S to take a shelfie! 1 17

I wonder if the family thought this through, as it is not going to boost their popularity ratings when some folk in previous lockdowns were not allowed to attend their own parents' funerals, let alone say goodbye while they were still alive. There's a big difference. Whether one approves or not, the Prince of Wales is heir to the throne and entitled to certain privilege's other than the those of the hoi polloi. It goes with the job! Otherwise you'd have a republic and you know how they turn out! Think Trump, who was able to ruin a great country in four years! Popular Post leopardml2341
Evenin'all Can positively report that I am free of the bleughness that troubled me for most of last week; so tomorrow, work it is. It'll be WFH (as it has been for almost a year now). Today was Doggo's birthday, so he had a special birthday meal and lots of throw/fetch whilst I was out in the garden. He is conditioned to fetch his favourite toy to me the moment I pick up any form of hand tool Hope everyone is well? Stay safe, sane and well, until tomorrow - it's goodnight from me! Popular Post Coombe Barton
Incoming awl alert. Over supper I had a brainwave and made a note. The note involved whether to use manual or electric turnout and signal control. This is the first time I’ve even thought of things that run on parallel bits of metal for quite some time. 15 5

Yes, this made no sense. The vaccine won't be forced on anyone so I don't know why they are complaining about something that is a personal choice - I assume they don't have similar protests about going to the dentist, watching "Australias Got Talent" , or eating Brussel Sprouts. Seriously, we've had no local covid cases in NSW for over 30 days, its a beautiful summer this year without anything on fire and we can safely gather in groups, go anywhere in the country or to NZ, go to the pub or a restaurant with family or with our mates, go to the beach ,go see live music concerts and generally have a lifestyle currently unavailable to a huge percentage of the rest of the world and the best thing they can think of doing with it is getting together in a park holding stupid posters about 5G and having a whinge. Popular Post andyram
Evening all. Pleased to hear that @leopardml2341 is on the mend. I hope you find no problems on the commute to work and there are no travel disruptions caused by any blockages en-route. These hall ways can be just as disruptive as the average motorway. There are all kinds of lorries that seem capable of shedding cardboard boxes to disrupt travel (no wait..that is just my hall way!!) So today I have managed to taste fresh air during a walk out to deliver Sarah's Avon books. I am not saying I have not walked far recently, but my legs were feeling stiff just half way around the route! This afternoon there was some testing (playing) with the new layout. There was also some testing of one of the new shop products (a certain six wheeled blue tank engine with moving eyes). I do not dare post a picture of that on these pages!! Check out the "Skaleby East" thread if interested. Stay safe all. Andy 21
