RMweb Gold BoD Posted February 11, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 11, 2021 (edited) Many happy returns to Chrisf's aunts. Like others I really do hope that you can see them again soon, Chris. I'm always amazed though, by how all of the sets of twins that I know have birthdays on the same day. I mean, what are the chances of that happening? Popular Post Ian Abel
BIN day, and the same experience as GDB. Our BIN haulers haven't skipped a beat since the start of this mess, truly amazing. All quiet here again yesterday, took the opportunity to knock-off early and do a small "shop" with the Mrs. as we needed to go to the pharmacy anyway. Hobbies - many partially/temporarily lapsed during COVID/lack of enthusiasm for some reason; Playing the piano Model making, have several "lined up" including a few formidable items, Revell Routemaster, Tamiya 1/32 F-14A, Doyusha 1/100 Concorde, Tamiya 1/12 F1 Very AMATEUR photograhy, mainly aircraft Nurturing Orchids - down to one now as the new house hasn't the space (YET!!) for a growing setup. Needed here, climate isn't conducive to stick them in a window! Solving Murder Mystery games - a new and very fun venture Jigsaw Puzzles - pause for the yawns and sighs of exasperation Flight simulation - occupies FAR too much time and of course "that which shall not be named"! -22 and a high overcast - supposed to get about an inch of powder today, yes it CAN snow at these temperatures, but it's usually light and fluffy! High around -18 Stay safe... 21
Popular Post jonny777
Had my Covid vaccine at lunchtime at the local medical centre. I was surprised that I never felt anything when the nice lady stabbed me with the syringe needle. In fact, I was still waiting for the pain when she told me it was all done. Astra-Zeneca for me apparently. On the subject of twins. I wonder how many there are out there who don't have their birthdays on the same day? There must be a few women who give birth to babies either side of midnight. 25 1
RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted February 11, 2021 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 11, 2021 (edited) Professional footballers would be in line, joined by anti vaxer's, celebrities famous for being celebrities.., Influencers, and those of similar Ilk. Stopped off at the big orange shed.. darn cold in there. Well below the shops act minimum temperature 16, The only warm place was directly in front of the heaters. I should have added reading to my list of hobbies, especially as I'm slowly converting a room into a library at the moment.. Popular Post Andrew P
Talk of Twins, = I may have mentioned this before, but my current Wife had not one, BUT TWO SETS, 15 Months apart. When I inherited them, the Girls were 13 and the Boys 12. The Girls are now 56 and the Boys will be 55 in April. Glad I wasn't around with lots of big wet Towelling Nappies to de gunge and wash. 13 1 1
Popular Post iL Dottore
As we are talking about hobbies, I mentioned that I both act and direct. In the photo below, taken from the last production I was in, I am being interrogated by a Vice Squad Policewoman, investigating my character's perverse murder spree... Note the prisoner QR Code! It was a great role to play, I had a lot of fun doing it. Playing villains and shady or disreputable characters is SO much more fun than playing boring heroes. Who cares about "getting the girl", when you can sow terror, create discord and orchestrate mayhem. 20 1

There must be a few women who give birth to babies either side of midnight. There was a case a couple of years ago where one twin was born on the 31st of August just before midnight and the other twin was born early on the following day the 1st. of September. A problem arose when it was time for them to start school as the school year starts on the 1st of September and the education authority said only the older twin could start school, the younger one would have to wait a year. I never heard of the outcome but hopefully someone used a bit of common sense. 6 2 3

RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted February 11, 2021 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted February 11, 2021 (edited) Evenin' each Tooth repaired OK but he has doubts about whether or not he'd be able to do it again so that could then mean root canal and a crown. I'll try to avoid biting too hard on that one then! Forget to mention in my hobbies that I sometimes photograph things. Sometimes they come out quite well and others they don't. Not up to the same standards of some of you but I quite like them. Here's a dicky bird (not that one Baz) And here's one of Dumbleton Hall.... or rather the grounds surrounding it Edited February 11, 2021 by grandadbob 17

RMweb Gold Popular Post BoD Posted February 11, 2021 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted February 11, 2021 Regarding hobbies. I like to listen to music and read a lot. Since I retired I am working my way through the pile of books I collected when I was working - in the hope that one day I might have time to read them all. Somehow though, the pile still seems to be growing rather than shrinking. Also since retiring I have dabbled in drawing and watercolours, and bashing tunes out of a keyboard (sorry Tony). This photograph I bodged a while ago rather nicely sums up some of my other interests. 16
