Well, until he continued to be "crazy" after everyone else seems to have simmered down, right now about 1000 to 1. That could easily change, of course, I mean we elected (before I was able to vote I hasten to add!!) a wrestler, Jesse Venture for mayor of a suburb, he THEN won as governor in 1998, and of course the country managed to elect T**** for president, so truly anything is possible 4 1 4

Free tax so not worried about renewing that early. Just hope that nothing happens to it in that period. 3

That'll throw David Attenborough a curve ball....... A friend had a blue Labradog, although that was due to her stealing a huge box of Chewits. She didn't like the blue ones, so spat them out in to her bed - and rolled over them all night. A MESS! I have friends of many religious denominations, despite following none of them myself as a declared atheist. All of them are going to have the vaccination, the deniers we know are white, middle age, whom we thought of as 'sensible' and atheists also. They also barricaded themselves in during lockdowns (latest one ending here Monday), hoarded bog rolls etc (they're still using ones from the first time, March - June). Our assessment of them as 'sensible' has gone down the tubes. Re-evaluation of our relationship with them under way, as they seem to have suddenly come to believe everything they read or hear through the Manx Rumour Network (exceedingly bizarre, BTW). It's a strange time for sure. iD, crispy of course good sir, with fried black pud and fried eggs, I have to imagine the accompanying fried bread though, for the carbs.

Vaccination is not mandatory. I also read a piece suggesting that measles would have an R-number of 13 if unchecked by vaccination. Even today not everyone is vaccinated for what was once a routine, if nasty, childhood illness. Currently for the UK the Covid R-number is between 0.6 and 1.1 varying by region and with London at the lowest end of the range. It reached what? 2 or 3 at the peak of the first wave before we knew much about the critter. What ever the stats I am happy to take up my offer of vaccination as soon as it comes. Personally I would rather risk blue hair than illness, I have no need to consult the Rabbi or other spiritual leader and the only foods I don't eat are seafood and mouldy food*. But to each their own. * Certain intentionally-moulded cheeses and some fish dishes excepted. Measles is my particular hobby hoss because I nearly died from as a result of having it. I get very annoyed when people claim that it is a minor virus. It aint, it is a killer 9

I don't know how close I was to death, but the GP was coming twice a day at one point and when I was conscious I was asking him why the bed was covered in bananas. I had just turned 5 and virtually everyone at primary school went down with it at the time.

Then one or two. By the next week every class had several empty chairs. Three weeks in isolation at home was no fun at all for a youngster accustomed to playing with his friends. I also copped Chicken Pox twice, Mumps twice (despite that being considered very unlikely as one dose was said to have given you immunity) and German Measles. There was a single case of Scarlet Fever in our class but it stayed a single case and the poor gitl ended up repeating a whole term after eight weeks off. 2

Pretty much the same story for me at the age of 4 (except for the bananas - they weren't readily available then). I too get mightily annoyed with those who insist that measles is not something to be concerned about as well as the anti-vaccers. Dave 11

Europe got the best of the BXXXt deal but have potentially come out in their true colours when they think UK is getting something 'better' than they have. I believe that it took them a lot longer to make up their minds to order or not. Hope this isn't too political - vaccines are for everyone. 1 12

There was stunned silence. I once wrote a paper back in my NHS management days, about a year long project I had undertaken with a senior nurse, myself as admin. manager but as equal partners. She distributed the paper with my name removed from it. It was a mistake to do so, as many of the senior managers and the Nursing Director knew of my role, and it was obvious to those I had worked with over the years it was written very much in my style. It backfired very badly for the nurse, quite ruined her promotional prospects in fact, but did mine a lot of good! Rankled for a very long time though. 10 1 1

A friend has it on his phone and demonstrated it to me a while ago by showing that the opposite corners of our house have different codes. Dave Would the three words be 'Find me now?' It certainly didn’t affect me as badly as that but it goosed my hearing. Not a total loss but a typical reduced acoustic range. One person was responsible for writing up the first draft of papers and then submitting the final product for publication. Very democratically, the list of authors was rotated one position for each successive paper. Came the time for the paper which tied everything together, and would be the one most quoted of them all, and the “writer’s” name appeared first, out of sequence. Grudges were long held! (Disclaimer - I was not part of the group.) 6 3
