The way I’m doing this is to select my menus for week then get out what I need for seven days, transferring it from big freezer to small freezer so that I don’t have to mess around with alternate sources. When I get thongs out, I try to sort through on date order so I’m using oldest first. Think this is logical? So do I, just getting round to doing it on a regular basis that’s been the barrier. You keep your thongs in the freezer? 5
RMweb Gold Popular Post Tony_S Posted November 10, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted November 10, 2020 (edited) I hope Sir TH’s bullying situation is resolved. I don’t like bullies at all. Sorting out bullying issues when I was teaching was part of the job. Then of course you would see those with positional power in management using bullying techniques barely different to those used by students on fellow students. One thing bullies often do is when challenged make out they are of course the victim, not their fault someone can’t take a joke etc. Matthew’s infant school said they had no proof other children were calling him racist names. A couple of nice girls confirmed what had been said so then the school just denied it had happened. Couldn’t happen, against school policy for racist language to be used. Matthew latter on at junior school just thumped a few bullies. Sorry to say but that was more effective than a paragraph on the mission statement document. RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted November 10, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 10, 2020 I reported myself on the Flat Earth Thread. There are some genuinely amusing comments but I started to get irritated. So I reported myself for suggesting someone’s comments reminded me of a certain President’s bleach remarks (ie not funny) 16
RMweb Premium Popular Post Gwiwer Posted November 10, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted November 10, 2020 Bother again. I received a number of calls on the mobile during the afternoon none of which I could take because the touch-screen would not respond. I then received messages (which also popped up on the computer) from most of those people asking what was wrong. Nothing was amiss that I was aware of. They had received emergency messages from my phone with its location (i.e. beside me on the desk) and acted accordingly. The phone refused to respond to any command including all attempts to de-activate it. Pressing the off button and attempting to power down totally only generated more emergency messages to my designated contacts. I tried removing the SIM. No change. I left it to simmer down and asked the nerd-work for advice. It seems that something inside has had a terminal fit of craptitude and its circuits are corrupted. Not a common problem but not unknown. The short version of the story is that £649 later a new phone is due to arrive tomorrow. I owned the old one outright but as the SIM is linked to SWMBO account and is fine I opted to continue owning a phone outright. It works out cheaper in the long run. And as things come in threes Bother the Third. I exchanged messages with Former Neighbour (Upstairs) whom I have not heard from in a while. She is in a dark and bad place but texting from the bus home wasn't the right moment to go into detail. I had already surmised as much knowing her well enough. The virus, its effects on everyone, the stresses of her career and of being forcibly separated from her young man by several thousand miles of ocean and land mass are all taking their toll. She knows I'm here. What she really wants is her mum (always a sign of extreme distress with her) and to see Boyfriend. The latter cannot happen until normal travel across The Pond and interstate through the USofA is permitted. Or vice versa and he doesn't have to spend his entire visit in HM Hotel isolating. Which would make it a rather pointless trip. Pleased to hear Keith's visit to A&E wasn't as serious as it might have been. Sounds like a real drama was averted by a gnat's whisker. Thank goodness for unshaven gnats, I say. 2 1

You wear them on your feet there and if they have first been in the freezer you stand a chance of making it across the beach sand without getting blistered and burned! Otherwise they just keep you halfway cool on those searing hot days. And those other thongs? They are strings downunder. In full preceded by the letter G but always abbreviated as is the Aussie style. 5 9

The procedure to cancel what your phone was doing (it it was an iPhone) won’t be affected by removing the sim or pressing the power button. There is a button pressing routine to follow. Of course it might just be broken.
RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted November 10, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted November 10, 2020 Evenin' each, Some time spent in The Shed today but apart from a minor repair to a wheeled thingy all I did was play....again! Cooking appliances: For most of our married life we've been all gas but when we had the kitchen refitted about 4 or 5 years ago we changed to a gas hob and electric double oven. It took a while for The Boss to get used to the oven but she's OK with it now. We've also got a combination oven/microwave that is all singing and dancing and comes in quite useful when we're catering for a lot of people........hasn't had much use in the past 8 months. The Boss made a small batch of mince pies this afternoon. As usual they're very good. Very very good. THey won't last long here. Bangers and mash tonight with OG went down well as did the Malbec accompanying it along with another glass beside me at the moment. 18 1
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted November 10, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 10, 2020 I was also going to comment on Johns typo but others have beaten me to it. Back to the scooter scrote. They've saved his leg but its going to be a couple of inches shorter when they've finished. He must have hit the van door with quite a whack as its been taken away with the door laying in the cab. The lad has just turned sixteen and my informant tells me that his parents had said no to a motorbike of any sort. 12
Popular Post pH
Just watched a blue jay crack open a hazelnut with its beak, which I thought was pretty impressive. And there’s a pilot doing ‘circuits and bumps’ on the airport about 200 feet below where I’m sitting. Each time he goes round, he passes about level with me. 20
RMweb Premium Popular Post The White Rabbit Posted November 10, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted November 10, 2020 With the gas/electric debate, I'm firmly with gas. I've tried both and cannot get on with electric at all, the results are either burnt offerings or luke-warm bacteria. And as others have said, I like having some redundancy in the case of a problem, if the electric goes we can use the gas fire and cooker, if the gas goes, we've central heating and electric heaters and the microwave. And our dishwasher will answer if you call him by the right name too. Not AI but hopefully some I. 16

After hearing some of the Trumpie's cockwombles being interviewed on BBC Radio News yesterday I was left dumbfounded. It seems that whatever they hear/read on the internet etc etc must be true, so long as it supports their conspiracy theory that Trumpie was cheated and it's all a fix. At one point it sounded like a fight was going to break out. One woman even stated that she believed they were on the verge of civil war. In other news: Bosch have sent the correct drill though as I still have my buddies drill I don't wanna use it and risk getting it dirty... Two kitchen base units are now in the lounge, with just two left in the kitchen (one is the sink) and a small wall unit still on the wall - though that one may soon end up in the lounge too. I'm not planning to use these for the new kitchen, they just prove useful for storage whilst the refurb is going on and the kitchen needs to be emptied. You'd be amazed just how much stuff is in a kitchen, and what a pain in the ar5e it is to shift it all round the house... 6 1

Apparently something in the electronics has corrupted. The touch-screen does not respond to touch and is not showing the display correctly; none of the control buttons work. The new one will also allow me to download the contact tracing app which would not run on the old device due to its age and incompatibility.

RMweb Gold Popular Post roundhouse Posted November 10, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted November 10, 2020 Evening Boiler service didn't happen yesterday. I wondered whether such was banned by the lockdown 2. However heating engineer appeared up today . Turns out my other half had the wrong day and I didnt think to check the calender on my phone as today was the correct day. Boiler all Ok. Re number 45's antics - dont we live in a strange world these days. Been in the shed with good music on and a few bottles emptied. I had an email from Wightlink - they are suspending to the Portsmouth Harbour ot Ryde Pier service after Friday till further notice due to lockdown 2. It was already down to hourly with a few two hour gaps during the middle of the day and pre booking only (no ticket offices open at either end). Using any form of public transport has been hard work since March, so the car rules apart for the water crossings. Tomorrow another Groundhog day. 1 1

For the last few days I've had a couple of roofers up on the roof sorting out some problems for which they had a scaffolding erected. Yesterday at about 2:00pm popped out into the garden to ask them if they wanted some more tea (the liquid stuff). As they said yes (as they always do!!) I headed back indoors walking in front of the scaffolding. Suddenly one of the roofers shouted get out of the way but before I had time to move quickly there was blood everywhere. Scalp injuries do bleed very heavily but the upside is that they also heal very quickly. I can attest to this from personal experience. Hope you are OK Keith. Unfortunately I don't think thst I would get much sympathy, something along the lines of " Where there's no sense there's no feeling " would probably be utterred.
