Sorry to see that Keith. Maybe you'll have to rebuild it in steel.

That might do for foxes but possibly not for badgers. Aditi’s parents used to have a house with a large garden. About an acre of it was uncultivated hillside. There were many badgers living on and in that hill. The house had probably been built on a badger superhighway. Any garden features or planting beds were regularly bashed until Aditi’s Dad moved things. He was actually very fond of the badgers.

Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Just had a message re. an E-bay purchase from Hong Kong. The item concerned had been returned to them 'Due to the Corvid crisis.' The company concerned was able to send stuff within three weeks rather than three months. They achieved this by sending stuff via Berlin of all places. I suspected that this also circumvented customs duty as their prices were generally lower. I have re-ordered the item from another trader at about £12 more. Thankfully there were some available as it appears production is limited and they sell out quickly.

Ooooh get me.  Techno-idiot about to break his Zoom-virginity.  Needs must as the committee cannot meet face to face but has to commit despite.  And I have a nice background image set up so that the rest of the cyber-verse doesn't get to see the inside of my pit :jester:

With reference to lock-ins etc when my parents had a pub in the 50s these happened quite often but never on a Thursday.  This was because  "Norman" the local bobby used to visit at closing time which ISTR was 10.30 in those days* and in a loud voice declare "Come on Landlord, time to get these layabouts out of here."  Once everyone was gone he'd say "Righto Ted I'll have a pint" and he and dad would settle down for a few games of draughts and  a drink or three!"

* From memory opening times were Mon-Sat 10.00am to 2.00pm and 6.00pm to 10.30pm and Sundays 12.00noon to 2.00pm and 7.00pm to 10.00pm.

Any obscenity, oral or visual, is in the mind of the viewer/ listener as the perpetrator obviously doesn't consider anything is wrong which is why it is posted.  It is rife in just about every aspect of communication including print; one has only to scan a few chat sites for confirmation and while some are offended by its presence, others can overlook it and forget it.  For every lingerie ad at the bottom of the page, there are more just as annoying.  If the half clad human bod worries you, avert your gaze as your purity is not considered by the ad men,  but if you should view such ads, be assured that your life will not be damned for ever!:good:

Male human urine.  It doesn't seem to work if you squat instead of scatter ;)

Do you want to put a small wager on that, Brian? He’s already mused about setting up his own TV ‘news’ channel, and a group he is associated with has apparently looked at buying into OANN

(Mods - delete if felt to be overly political.)

Just to confirm - article on CNN today:

https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/21/politics/donald-trump-2020-election-fox-news-oann/index.html

A thought - one of the networks mentioned would only need a couple of letters swapped around to be appropriately named.

Evening all from Estuary-Land. The new Farcebook/old Farcebook saga goes on. I mentioned that group admins and mods can keep the old layout for 48 hours. I was looking for something that I'd done when on the new layout so I went into new layout as I still had old layout on Firefox. Then I noticed the button for the extra 48 hours was still showing so I clicked on it and it went back to old layout. I just wonder if it counts the 48 hours from the first or the second click? I'll have to wait until Friday morning to find out.

A few years ago I started to watch Leeds Tykes Rugby Club. They progressed into what is now the premiership. One friday I was in my (at the time) local when the team arrived post game. I was introduced to the prop/captain and we hit it off well. Several hours later I was let out of the pubs back door into the cool light of morning....

The first of many such lock ins with a great bunch of players...

And Trump casinos

and Trump steaks

and Trump the boardgame

And the Trump travel website

And Trump magazine

And Trump mortgage company

And Trump university

And Trump Tower, Tampa

And Trump Vodka

And Trump Trumpnet communications network

And 'Tour De Trump' bike race

Fun fact - When permission to operate  Sydneys first  casino back in 1986 went out for tender, one of the tenderers was Donald Trump.

His bid was rejected by the government and by the NSW police:

“Briefly stated, the Police Board considers that HKMS, Federal/Resorts/Sabemo, Kern/Trump, are unacceptable,” the summary of the police report said.

Atlantic City would be a dubious model for Sydney and in our judgment, the Trump mafia connections should exclude the Kern/Trump consortium,” a summary of the police board’s report said.

The cabinet papers also show there were doubts about the viability of the Kern/Trump bid. A report prepared by the independent contractor, the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, found the Kern/Trump bid was one of two that were “not financially viable”.

The report found that revenues for the casino were overstated. “The proposal is financially viable on the basis that the projected financial structure is reasonably based,” a summary said.

However, projected casino revenue estimates are not soundly based and the quantum of the potential overstatement is so material that the tender is not financially viable. Also, the tender is not financially viable on the basis of expected returns to equity investors.”

How come Australia had him worked out 34 years ago and told him where to go   but the US let him be president!?
