Not yellow but I wasn’t going to pay lots of money for a yellow one. I just need to make a brush and vacuum unit out of scrap plasticard. Aditi said she liked the toy lorry. It wasn’t driving itself but on a trailer. The towing vehicle was going rather quickly and the sweeper tipped off. Didn’t hit me and at first I thought the driver didn’t even notice he had lost his load.

RMweb Premium Popular Post New Haven Neil Posted September 17, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted September 17, 2020 Evening. Another lazy day mostly, cleaned the inside of the car windows as the mornings are getting damp and revealed a summer's worth of whatever it is that gets on the inside of car windows! General goo. Had a good response from both Lloyds Pharmacies and the local Pharmaceutical Authorities after making a complaint last week having twice had a mis-dispensed medication for the same drug from the same pharmacy in the last few months. As it happens it wasn't a medication where the sudden drastic reduction of dose could have harmed me, but it might have been, if it were one of the others I depend upon, the principle of the matter being more important. The local authority asked me 'what I thought a good outcome would be' last week as a first response, I suspect not expecting chapter and verse from a one-time NHS manager! Perhaps this precipitated the good response (audit, error record keeping, checking systems etc) from both entities. Changes have been made, but I'm not using that particular pharmacy any more. There's a small family run one rather further away, I shall support them in future. 16

It's all down to finding out your optimum carb requirements and never eating too much of one type. Also lots of protein because it slows digestion. I now have the ultimate, an insulin pump with constant glucose monitoring and can now see whats happening 24/7. The trick of course is to keep moving and burn it off. Two border collies and a mountain help tremendously. My endocrinologist is very happy, he wouldn't even tickle my feet last time. To all diabetics I would heed closely to the instruction given by your health team and if you're not happy go find a different team. Take the time to learn about food and how it affects your blood glucose. Say goodbye to piles of mash, big plates of spaghetti and cake (unless you're planing on a 20 mile bike ride or climbing Ben Nevis) . After thirty years I'm still learning. Regards Shaun. My latest food searches find that foods contain antihistamines - good to eat - or histamines - bad to eat . That is, if you have hay fever, for instance. But does it work? Well, after eating my beloved Marmite Toasties I feel a sight worse than after drinking a spiced ginger and blackberry mugatea (one tea bag spiced ginger + one tea bag blackberry and blueberry brewed together). Fortunately, my diet contains a large proportion of the former group. Unfortunately, some of my favourite foods contain the latter! Ah, well, at least I know I can brew up a spicy mugatea when it gets rough! As to tooting on the flute, breathing is not the only issue at the moment. It is a lot warmer indoors due to the current "not quite a heatwave" so sweaty fingers stick to the fife and do not clear the holes at the right time. Interesting sound!!! Not!!! I stayed up to watch the whole cricket match highlights last night... Click and Collect from Tess Coe's, today. One interesting item I was not expecting turned up - a pack of coffee filters. Er...We do not drink filtered coffee so what are these for, I wondered. On interrogating asking said person who completed the order.... WARNING! This might upset the AWL! ...it turns out, one filter is required for the new Lockdown arrival, namely a live steam quarry Hunslet - first steam up expected tomorrow! http://www.roundhouse-eng.com/pdf/reviewpdfs/grlillareview.pdf I have been told that Death in Paradise is due to start shortly, so I had better brew up before it starts. Fitt and Elfie getting back into the swing of things. A lot of catching up on here to do so hope everyone is doing OK. Take care and play safe. _________ Best wishes Polly 13

And where does one draw the line between Hay Fever and Allergic Rhinitis? Arbitrarily in at least some cases but to my mind (and to my long-suffering nose) if one sneezes and has the irrits for much of the year then it is AR. Or in my case the delightful joys of something called CARAS. Combined Allergic Rhinitis and Asthma Syndrome. In preparation for Speak Like A Pirate Day on Saturday I shall leave you with this (Covid-secure and carefully face-covered) thought. Sounds an interesting idea; is there a list anywhere? I'm fed up with splashing out on ginger and turmeric supplements and generic chlorphenamine (piriton [others are surely available] - you're paying for the brand as well!) and would welcome any alternatives!
RMweb Premium Popular Post Dave Hunt Posted September 17, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted September 17, 2020 My worst experiences of blood, gore and other nasty things: Finding a chap who had committed suicide by parking on a country track and putting a hose from the exhaust pipe through the car window - horrible but no blood. Finding a chap who had fallen about 100 feet down a cliff in the Pennines - horrible and lots of blood. Trying to extricate a chap from a car upside down in a ditch and finding that his skull was caved in - horrible and bloody. Worst of all, seeing my wingman hit the ground and watching the ensuing fireball - horrible and heartstopping. All of the above also involved me giving evidence at inquests or inquiries, which meant reliving the scenarios. Yuk! Despite that, have a nice evening. I'm trying my best by sipping a rather nice drop of Tamnavulin after eating a toothsome Eccles cake. Dave

For years I ate a bowl of shredded wheat topped with a sprinkling of flakes for breakfast and thought that yucky feeling was the insulin. I also had IBS for years, now I know that I just can't eat it. As for marmite toasties. They're a bit of a treat in our household due to the rarity and cost of that commodity over here! regards Shaun 3

In pevious employ we had an 'address' by high ups from Canada. Someone (wonder who that was) had distributed some cards for such a bingo. and someone did just do that. I had arranged for a separate screen elsewhere for those higher up in the company with the 'reason' that it would be too crowded in one room. RMweb Premium Popular Post polybear Posted September 17, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted September 17, 2020 Today was a cr@p day, big time. A day on the building site, a.k.a refurbing my kitchen; chasing out three 1.5m long slots in brickwork mortar joints in preparation for installing stainless helical bars - hopefully to prevent future cracks. A right pig of a job. All doorways were sealed with zip up pvc door covers. So how the kin 'ell did my lounge appear totally covered in a fine layer of dust?? As in everything in the room..... A good couple of days work to clean that lot up, based on previous experience. A very, very p1ssed off Bear

RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted September 17, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 17, 2020 Forgot to mention. The gas engineer called this afternoon and confirmed as I thought it was the system filter unit. The bad news is that a new one is required and it will take a couple of days for a replacement. He will come and fit it on Monday, just as well we're social distancing.
