I remember Queens Park fairly well. Amazing as it was a friends Stag do that took us to Bournemouth to play golf. I prefer Meyrick Park though. Not that long but has bags of charachter. I must get down there at some point to play it again.

Afternoon All

Been away for a few days, as we've had a number of panics with the dog having funny turns, then recovering very fast - one mimicked seasickness with her eyes moving rapidly from side to side, one was just a loss of footing, and one was diagnosed by the emergency vet as a stroke - an injection and four pills - that's £75.00 please - and then back to my own vet the following day - each time, she recovers so fast that there is almost nothing to see by the time we get into the surgery - she's back like a puppy then, and presents as a healthy 11 year old Spaniel. As this one is so difficult to diagnose, I'm off to the specialist again tomorrow for a CAT scan to be done, with a follow up consultation, as ears appear to be the most likely cause (again) but inner ear this time, so thank all that's holy for pet insurance, as this procedure will set them back over £1000 !

Mick - a bold decision, if I may say so - often selling up and making a fresh start is the only way to get a property hassle pushed behind you - good luck with that.

I have also noticed that Don isn't with us again - hope he's OK - has anybody got an e-mail address and has tried him to make sure?

Anyway, I'm just finishing my meal break at work, and spent my pre-work time and my tea break reading all the posts and getting up to date. I'll possibly not be back for a few days, as home life/dog seen to be taking a lot of priority here....

Regards to All

Stewart

Geriatric vestibular disease was the description given to us when our male Greyhound first started to suffer from something similar a steroid injection sorted him for a while. A thorough scan etc might give different ideas.

Vet considered vestibular disease as being a good possibility, but also he said that the effects normally last for up to 72 hours per attack, and that the recovery times here were so rapid that this would be very unusual, not to say, unheard of - he then went on to say "but this is a Sussex Spaniel and your Sussex Spaniel, so the normal rules may not apply here!" This was from the man who found that my dog had a functioning spleen, plus an extra and fully working small spleen beside it - he'd never seen that before - Sussex Spaniels are actually an alien life form in a canine outline.

How incredible! I guess that must be a genetic mutation - but certainly a useful one.

The roofers are making good progress. However, I have been providing them with copious quantities of mineral water. It's pretty hot up there!

I can imagine that! I don't envy PW crews in this kind of weather either. When the rail line up here was completely rebuilt in the summer of 2008, several residents also took to supplying the chaps with mineral water by the crates.

27C and Windy in Gotham (the real one).

Severe T-Storms to the south of Baltimore. I'm not sure whether they'll come due north to us or slid off into the Atlantic around Cape May...........

Best, Pete

I've just come back from checking my neighbour's (they have gone to N. Wales, probably to see some rain) and the gale yesterday certainly had blown stuff around their garden. I suspect my garden is so small the fences act as windbreaks.

Morning all.

Blue sky, but a bit of haze in the distance, and thunderstorms are predicted for tomorrow. Still too dozy to think of anything else to post at this hour...

Cheers everyone!

Morning All,

It's a beautiful morning here - blue sky, sunshine and CAVOK. However, Hamburg and Bremen airports are now shut. Here we go again :(

Have a good day everyone...
