I believe that’s a an equalizing beam for the first two axels, works on the same basic principle as a beam engine. A lot of engines of that vintage had them, but much smaller. the one below is on a LCDR Small Scotchman Edited June 10, 2020 by Florence Locomotive Works Horrific grammar and spelling 8 1 1

Sir TophamHatt
Evening all. Busy day today. Started learning more about new job (3 weeks in and still not done more than the induction - but thrn we are in strange times). Downloaded and played an old computer game - Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 (got it free through Steam!) - I could not play it at all. Controls all over the place, graphics awful, but nostalgia 5-stars! Have been mulling over this £500 budget for model railway things too. Can only think of a couple of locos I'd want. The 800 is nice but not worth the money. Watched some videos on the ECoS. I don't think I'd use enough of it to make that worth it. However! Why I didn't think about signalling I'll never know! So much of today was looking at infared control boards and Eckon signals - about £200 worth of kit to power 6-8 signals. Plus, I have another £100 ready for coach lighting (on back order). Suddenly my £500 is slipping away 13
Popular Post Ozexpatriate
The CoViD-19 backlash seems to be underway. A gubernatorial candidate in Utah (John Huntsman, who is well known in US politics) has declared he has CoViD-19. Additionally athletes from 10 prominent southern and mid-western universities known for their (American) football programs have tested positive. Meanwhile, the President's reelection campaign has announced they will shortly be holding mass rallies again. I'm starting to think the second wave will be next week's big news story. I hope not. Meanwhile, China. Best not say more. 4

RMweb Premium Popular Post southern42 Posted June 10, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 10, 2020 ' evening all from red dragon land. Mixed weather today. Got bike ride on the terrace in before the rain arrived and also cut down some bamboo for next-door who is growing some sweetpeas. Drizzle arrived as I was removing the leafy stuff off the canes, gradually retreating into the porch doorway. The leafy stuff will be used instead of bark chippings which I ran out of at the beginning of the season. It is free so I am not complaining! Our bamboo is looking a bit worse for wear after the winter. So I am taking advantage of time at home to cut it back and see what happens. Broccoli coming along, although the leaves are attracting a few hungry critters by the looks of it! Toot on the flute going OK. Playing up to an hour at a time, now, as opposed to struggling for 5-10 minutes. Still searching for the perfect tone, though. It will come...maybe... Fitt and Elfie keeping pace - just about. Take care and play safe. _________ Best wishes Polly 17

I definitely heard my neighbour creak a bit when he got out recently. I joked about when was he trading it in for something comfy. As I am nice I didn’t laugh at his daughter basically inelegantly falling out one day. His car doesn’t have doors like the one in the photo but our garages are about 3metres in height so I suspect not a problem. Tony I often give people the challenge of trying to get in and out of our Lotus Europa in under 5 min, without dislocating any limbs. No successful victors so far. RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted June 10, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 10, 2020 Evening all from Estuary-Land. A local museum, Castle Point, has just announced that it is scrapping its 2020 program, no great surprise there as like many preserved railways the volunteers are getting a bit long in the tooth and the risks are to great. It was toad in the hole for dinner tonight. One of these days I'll have a go at one of my mum's specialities, lamb chop toad in the hole. 18
RMweb Premium Popular Post BSW01 Posted June 10, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 10, 2020 Good evening everyone The weather hasn’t been kind to me at all today, I’d managed to get the bench set up on my workbenches quite easily and had just finished wiping off the muck and last nights rain etc when it started to rain, pah. So I covered everything up with a large plastic sheet and went to the cellar, taking the slats with me and set about painting them. Once I’d done that I cleaned off all the brushes that I’d left soaking in cleaner for a few days. This was all done by about 11:30, so I then decamped to the workshop and continued working on the turntable. I put all the limit switches back on and reassembled the motor etc. It’s now at the point where I can reconnect the motor to the control circuit and give it all a test run. There’s a bit of a boot in the back behind the engine, but it’s not robust enough to put anything, decently large however for its kind. 8 1

Reminds me of the 72 Chrysler Newport Custom that I got from a friend, the hood was quite flat and about ten feet long; I thought that I was back on the Kitty Hawk getting ready to launch a strike mission! It was quuite easy to find in any lot as it stuck out about five or more feet more than all but a few pickups, etc. 6
