RMweb Gold Popular Post BoD Posted April 24, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted April 24, 2020 Evening all (Evening? What am I doing here? The whole world is upside down I tell you) Every cloud has a silver lining though. We keep a plastic tub into which we throw non- copper coins after shopping etc. We take it when we need to feed parking machines on days out, hospital visits, whatever. You know the sort of thing. It never contains more than a few pound coins and a similar number of fifty pences, twenties and tens. Probably a bit more after the winter months. Today I counted it and there was nearly eighty pounds. Goodness knows where it will be when we are next allowed out. You did say the website was up and running Neil, didn’t you? 15 1 6

Popular Post Ian Abel
Afternoon... late, but I've an excuse, I was out trying to buy disinfectant and syringes (JOKE!!!) Yesterday the Mrs made a lovely curry dinner for our friends (the Mrs of the couple lost her father two nights ago) and we dropped it off with a bottle of wine - such a pity we can't do more with the current social distancing... Nothing else happening, quiet evening was had by us. Today - SURPRISE, final got my renewed drivers license that is "Real ID" certified, pity there's nowhere to travel right now. Lovely day here again, 14 and sunny to start with a high of 18, maybe some showers later. Say safe and well. 25

To the best of my knowledge, we're still not able to get them - they weren't originally supposed to be available in Oregon until June or July. Once the TSA deadline was extended due to the present emergency, I imagine the state Department of Motor Vehicles will act like procrastinating teenagers, who being given a project deadline extension will wait until it is due to do anything instead of profiting through the extra time. 4 2

RMweb Premium Popular Post AndyB Posted April 24, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 24, 2020 Evening all. Lovely weather hereabouts. Whilst it may be Friday work will continue over the weekend. Not ideal but weekdays seem to fill up with distracting phone calls resulting in no time to concentrate. Hopefully I'll be the only person in "the office". Meanwhile in spare moments I'm making progress on the £@yout. Very enjoyable. Warm wishes to all.

MN legislature finally got off their dead arses late last year and finally pushed it through, I needed to renew my license for the address change. I'm just surprised they actually managed to get it to me in 8 weeks, not the 10+ weeks they stated in Feb., I went in to renew before the sh!t hit the fan... 19

So nerd to have another look tomorrow. At least I can see it still running in the dark. Must go out and bring it in after Have I Got News For You. 6
RMweb Premium Popular Post Dave Hunt Posted April 24, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 24, 2020 First of all, belated congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Stationmaster. Spent half the day (or it seemed like it) dealing with deliveries and disinfecting items but also managed an hour in the workshop starting to re-motor a little four wheeled vehicle, the prototype for which was made in Bristol in 1910. Then took part in another Zoom get-together with some ex-RAF colleagues that lasted about an hour and a half and just showed that nostalgia isn't what it used to be. Tomorrow marks the completion of my 73rd trip around the sun. Instead of spending it in Spain, as was planned until the WuFlu struck, I have been granted leave to spend it in the shed/workshop/railway room so all is far from lost. Of course, that will be after a large muggocoffee and, if I'm really lucky, a bacon butty in bed whilst catching up with overnight ERs. Have a good weekend everyone. I weigh and bag the coins (decent set of kitchen scales ) and today I took the lot down to the local bank (a quiet one, that still manages to survive) - I threw in four paper pound notes that i found during recent sort outs. The lot came to thirty eight quid Amazing how all that "dross" can add up. 21

Popular Post Simon G
Another beautiful day here today, culminating in Fraggle Rock being very clear this evening. I managed to take a picture on my phone, which as usual doesn’t do it justice, but you can see how clear it was. Just as I took the photo, a Northern Class 156 DMU wandered into shot, heading south to Barrow. In the foreground is part of the hedge I have trimmed in the last 2 days.

In grade school (grades one or two) my son made a papier-mâché piggy bank. It was quite sturdy and around the size of a rugby football or slightly larger. At the time, the teacher humourously suggested to the pupils that it might help pay for their college when full. I filled it with loose change and it's really quite heavy, but I haven't performed the numismatectomy. It won't pay for a university education, but it should add up. RMweb Premium TheQ Posted April 24, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 24, 2020 Evening awl, At the MrCH tonight's viewing was lots of Columba palumbus, a singular alectoris rufa, and some corvids... I said corvids not covids. Earlier today there were two owls calling to each other across the garden. Ben the choosy Collie decided to stay in the house this evening and not to hide in the MrCH. Not much done to the unmentionable this evening as it hadn't set properly.. I suppose i could have made some Fence posts, but I need more mojo to make 150 of them 17

I came across a Facebook post the other day where someone was urged to phone regarding a problem with an own-brand product. I suggested they email and give it time rather than phone having regard to your previous posts and staffing considerations. I hope they took the advice. IT is time to attempt sleep. The Orange Army sent us a letter a few days ago reminding us that they will be making noise all weekend (beginning at 22 o'clock tonight) as they dig up the railway and the road at our level crossing for the second time this year. Who knows why they couldn't manage with once. I am expecting some interruptions to the usual snoring for the next three nights. G'night all. Stay well.

We put bronze change in a saucer by the kitchen door. It pays for bread from the baguette machine. Anyway good night to all. Jamie 17 1

RMweb Premium Popular Post Barry O Posted April 24, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 24, 2020 Evening all. We had an emotional call from my wife's Aunt tonight. We had tried to call her on a number of occasions this week with no reply. Transpires she had a bit of a meltdown on Monday but seems she has fought that off and, after a long chat with both myself and her indoors she seemed a lot happier. The joys of an active 70 year old cooped up in a newish house... Her indoors cooked a nice pork in lemon sauce based meal tonight. Finished off with a smidget of cheese... I had o open our last bottle of Tawny procured in Vic Market Melbourne...certainly brought some great memories back! (and it is dangerously drinkable!) BoD.. there is being late on parade..then there is..being very early for tomorrows parade! Baz 11
