RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted April 15, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 15, 2020 Evening Awl, As I'm now certain I'm isolating for the duration I've ordered a fair amount of plasticard sheet and shapes I've a radar to build. I also ordered a 10kg bucket of dry plaster of Paris, that should see this layout to its conclusion. We actually used our decontamination entrance for real.. Once.. A guy on got sent out to a HF 200 nodding height finder , as it had tripped out. He pressed the reset and... Bang... Big bang a large transformer several feet across in a oil filled metal casing exploded, and he got covered in oil. At the time there was a scare on about what are now banned substances in that sort of oil. So in he went for decontamination, his clothes were bagged for disposal, they weren't any good for anything else. He went home in a pair of overalls nothing else and had to wait for several days to find out if the oil sample had the dangerous substance in it.. It didn't.. 9 9
Popular Post Erichill16
Evening, Decided to give myself the afternoon off from the pharmacy as the staff are coping ok. I’ve been going more as a gesture of support for the last few days but my own pharmacy paperwork does need my attention. So got home, had a sandwich, mowed the lawn and did a couple of hours with the books. After tea had an hour in the shed. We try to get prescriptions ready for people for when they call but some customers are coming for their prescription before the doctor has even sent it. We have been given permission to open late and close early but so far haven’t done so but know a lot of pharmacies have. After this Covid 19 situation is over I think there will repercussions and recriminations but I don’t think this is the forum for those discussions. I look forward to it’s eradication but not all the agro that will follow. Goodnight, Robert 3

It's a relevant example of impromptu programming in the current emergency. Billed as "a truly magical event", it will be avoided, by me at least. If it ain't on freeview or freesat, I can't watch it anyway! Why is it relevant? And relevant to what? Please don't get me started on what a so-called celebrity ISN'T! My overriding question is based on the lyric "do they know it's christmas time"; does their religion have a concept of "christmas"? My point is not to get into a religious argument between various beliefs but simply to enquire if those inflicting them on the recipients are cognisant of the recipient's views? RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted April 15, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 15, 2020 Evening all from Estuary-Land. Had a healthy dinner tonight, poached salmon with a selection of green veg, no potatoes or rice or any other carbs. Don't worry though, tomorrows dinner will be steak and ale pie and chips. Now to do battle with Farcebook.

It is relevant to the concern you implied up-thread that producers of televised concerts might ask performers to violate distancing rules to record a concert. This event will not do that. RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted April 16, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 16, 2020 Mooring awl, inner Temple Hare, 4 hours ish sleep so far, more imminent. A sailing forum I visit, which is very American biased, has a political discussion section, it's pretty boring it generally descends into them calling each other liars, blue verses red/ orange and defending the undefendable. Unfortunately it leaks out into other areas quite frequently, I'm glad we have a ban on politics... After escaping into town today to collect prescriptions, I think I might sit on the garage roof for a while. This next section should be a lot easier, as the amount of Ivy is much less. The most awkward bit, is it's getting further from the easiest access point. Hence much manoeuvring of scaffold boards to spread my weight. Time I think for a return to less brain activity... 7
Popular Post chrisf
Greetings one and all We had a virtual Area Group meeting last night. It worked well, mostly, except that the software was reluctant to show me live in vision and satisfied itself with my avatar. When the live me did appear on screen I was shown to be in dire need of a haircut. Fat chance of that in present circumstances. The remains of the chicken have been processed, with the aid of a jar of korma sauce. Korma is the only type of curry with which I am anywhere near comfortable because it is so mild. Some of my friends are almost religious in their devotion to curry and I have missed out on many a convivial social occasion because I was not comfortable with it. I suppose they will now make fun of me for only being able to cope with the mildest curry. What the heck: it is better than being ignored. It is good that Maddy Prior and Steeleye Span have come up in conversation. Way back in my murky past a friend and I met the band in their dressing suite at the Hammersmith Odeon, as it then was. This came about through a competition in Record Mirror, which shows how long ago it was. Clutching my copy of the “All Around My Hat” LP I proffered it diffidently to each band member in turn and was rewarded with a set of signatures. We also had the pleasure of meeting Maddy’s dad, the dramatist Allan Prior. Getting back to St Pancras for the train just after midnight was fun. Having no faith in the Piccadilly Line at that time of night we hailed a taxi at Hammersmith Broadway. Having told us that we were pushing our luck, the driver rose to the occasion and got us to St Pancras in 15 minutes. The speed cop who chased us along the Euston Road was less than impressed. “That was a disgraceful piece of driving!” said he. “Your job is to get these people to their destination in one piece!” As he had done exactly that, and with time to spare, we said nothing. Best wishes to all Chris
RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted April 16, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 16, 2020 It's strange to go on patrol without out being given a honour guard of yellow daffodils. The majority of them now having shriveled up, SWMBO has dead headed and bagged the heads to be given to a friend who wants them to dye with. The only daffs left are up on the frozen tundra, those bits of the garden most prone to frost, like this morning. Ben the changeable Collie was reluctant to go on patrol till he'd had a stroke and comforting words. Then after a good snuffle round, he was happy charging around and bouncing about. He's now asleep at the bottom of the stairs awaiting SWMBO. Porridge is waiting, blackberries and pear as fruit flavouring. 23
RMweb Premium Popular Post Barry O Posted April 16, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted April 16, 2020 (edited) Ey up! I tried to say goodnight last night but RMWeb had gone.. I didn't need to log on this morning..quite bizarre. Our virtual Bogglers meet up continues. Tea and wads by zoom every 4pm. Stops some of our group going stir crazy! Her indoors was up at sparrows as she is collecting some gardening material before going shopping. However, the blackbird singing just outside our bedroom window woke me up at 4am. The air was full of beautiful birdsong which sent me back to sleep. Bliss! Mugatea drank, time to roust the rest of Thursday out of its slumbers! The ONS data makes interesting reading. Coombe Barton could get a lot of excel bits going out of it. It does cover all deaths but has big provisos..includeing the fact that until post mortems take place you are never sure what peopl have died from. The numbers do show a big spike this week on Tuesday. We cant post all deaths on a Bank Holiday. The Civil Service will, unfortunately, never change. Now, i have mapped out what today involves. Just up to me to make it happen! Carpe Diem! Stay in, stay healthy and get as much enjoyment from today as you can! Baz Ps The Q perhaps a big hug from all ERs and our awl flinger (and Collie lover) Debs would make him feel ready for his day? (Long story, but it was entirely legitimate.) It was a police magnet ("Just checking, sir") till the local cops got to know it. The record was my young cousin being stopped 6 times in one evening, when he drove it with the top off, outside their home area. Rag tops in the summer, ah fond memories, apart from the girl next door getting a Triumph Spifire as a birthday present and subsequent outings my other memory is as a very young bobby with about 2 weeks outside service in. I was still in what was called my month in company and should have stuck like glue to my tutor constable. Anyway we got sent to do duty at Wetherby races. The old Sgt there told me to go and do traffic duty at one of the junctions off the A1. He took me to my post and gave me some instruction. His final words were "You'll be alright lad, just remember if you get in a mess, come to attention give a salute (to the snarled motorists) march smartly away and let them sort themselves out". Anyway it was a sunny warm morning and the crowds were good natured and I got on OK. I soon evolved a system of working out when to stop the flowing traffic. If I saw an open rag top with a young lady in it, that was the car to stop, of course this was in the days of miniskirts. Happy days. 3 hours ago, AndyID said: You're right!
