RMweb Premium Popular Post Dave Hunt Posted March 23, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 23, 2020 Good morning. The sun is shining and in happier times we would probably be thinking of going out for the day. Today, though, will probably be spent doing a few odd jobs then getting in some muddling time, which is as close to a silver lining as it will get I suppose. At some stage I'll probably have a game of Scrabble with my Dad. I apologise if the above is too exciting for those of a nervous disposition. It it appears that AndyID and I have birthdays at similar times as mine too is in about four weeks - April 25th to be exact. I'm not expecting a big party this year. I hope that t'other Andy manages to keep the business going. Stay safe everyone. Dave 9 1 1
Popular Post Simon G
Morning, Definitely an ER this morning as we were up around 6am, then Mrs G has gone off to try to do the weekly shop, so I decided to get a walk in early. I just managed to beat the incoming tide along the beach, and only encountered 3 people, 2 of whom were near neighbours and we had a good chat, at a very safe distance of about 10 metres. It was very chilly out, so I am now just warming up with a cup of strong tea and contemplating some breakfast. More gardening will be done today and the grass will get its first cut of the year. I will echo the stay safe everyone message!
RMweb Gold Popular Post Kingzance Posted March 23, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 23, 2020 Good morning from a quiet and sunny NEHerts, the peace only interrupted by a CowboysRUs in their now seemingly desperate rush to finish the site. How strange that their inactions and activities last year could have meant they would be done months ago! I have been advised that my medication is available for collection, including Ramipril! Whilst there, I hope to acquire some paracetamol, unless of course the local parrots have ate em all (hat, coat, door.....). SWMBO will visit the Rose of Waits to see if she can get milk, baking yeast, fruit and vegetables, I am not that optimistic. I still fear she would go without rather than visit alternative supermarkets. Whilst she is out, I shall hopefully have a conversation with the administrators at the Urology dept of The Lister Hospital. Some time back, tHey arranged an appointment for me next Monday for a further exploratory digitising but I wonder if, due to my age, past medical history and the demands on that hospital, they may wish to defer that invasion for a few months? My PSA isn’t yet following the Corvid-19 trend so could discretion be the better option here (and I have never been a fan of having anything shoved up my rear entrance - battery powered or not! Otherwise, otherwise. Daughter visited yesterday but was careful to practice social distancing, she sat at one end of the garden whilst we were at the other! We do appreciate her concern and attempts to keep us safe. The Stationmaster’s favourite of SMOG that I had yesterday proposed as a sumptuous feast for Her Ladyship on Mother’s Day was rejected in barely an instant. Instead, I defrosted two very tasty lamb chops removed from little bleaters a couple of miles away (they were not bleating by the time they were portioned for us, I can tell you). That therefore means we will most likely go along with the SMOG option, enhanced with some haricots in tomato sauce, this evening. of course this may be thrown up into the air if the Rose of Waits turns out to be abundantly stocked, but I suspect not. The pile of Cooper Craft and Parkside Dundas bags is reducing and I shall be attempting my first installation of some Wat & Sprinkle joining arrangements. Darkening of the under-frames will then follow. If anyone has some foolproof advice on the installation of these devices, a PM would be welcome! Be good, take care, get healthy and don’t let the b*tards grind you down.

RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted March 23, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 23, 2020 Morning all from Estuary-Land. Not much change to report but I have to go out soon for a few supplies. Hopefully the postman will be early rather than late. ChrisF did you see my links yesterday to Under Milk Wood? And I certainly don’t want those left over from both of your parties for the huge celebrations that will be upcoming (not) here at the start of the following month. My entrance to the generation of septuagenarians was last year and involved grand celebrations, feasts and a trip to miniatur wunderland in Hamburg over a period of ten days - how different it is now! RMweb Premium Popular Post BSW01 Posted March 23, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 23, 2020 Good morning everyone The sun is shining, but there are a few clouds in the sky, but hopefully it’ll be a nice day. I’m shortly going to attempt an early Sainsbury’s Grand Prix and hope I can get the items on mother’s shopping list, I doubt very much that I’ll get everything on it, but one lives in hope! Back later. 19

RMweb Premium Popular Post 45156 Posted March 23, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 23, 2020 Morning All Daily check in completed. A lot of ER water passing under the ER bridge - may it continue and we all get through this unscathed. Generic greetings are, as ever, on offer from 45156/30747 towers. 30747 had an e-mail from work after I posted yesterday to advise that there are quite a number of key worker children requiring care, and that her workplace has "asked" all parents to pay a contribution towards the staff costs of the nursery, so that they can keep the staff on and paid. So she has now had to go in this morning so that they can plan staffing cover, etc. We may need to be a bit more careful over hand sanitising, hand washing, and keeping our distance, We have discussed this, and have plans to do our own thing on the personal front. Whatever happens, we will get through as I said earlier. Regards to All Stewart 4 1
RMweb Gold Popular Post Happy Hippo Posted March 23, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 23, 2020 (edited) Archer alert! Chris, Berrow Farm as was managed by Neil with Hannah as his side kick, is not cattle, but a pig unit. The mega milk production unit was run by rapist Rob, (later to be stabbed by the Hellqueen) until his departure, and is somewhere else in the Ambridge enclave. The only place in the UK where the latest crisis is not even mentioned, the pubs and clubs are still open and no social distancing has taken place. RMweb Premium Popular Post Barry O Posted March 23, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 23, 2020 Anyone heard from GDB? And other "missing" ERs? Dudders, ashers are infrequent visitors now along with 6oh6oh8. Longer term absentees include Trisonic... Any news would be welcome ..we are also missing Debs. RMweb Gold Popular Post Happy Hippo Posted March 23, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 23, 2020 We are having a meet up with my daughter and the grandchildren at Costa this morning. A virtual meet via the Amazon Echo Show device we have. Apparently this device will be placed in the middle of the room facing us as we sit on the sofa. In front of the sofa, will be a low table with full coffee cups full of the drink of choice. All good so far, but will there be cake? I need CAKE! 8 16

RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted March 23, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 23, 2020 I'm running low on skimmed milk for my breakfast porridge but I have almond milk in the fridge so I'm going to try that in a couple of days time when the skimmed milk runs out. 11

RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted March 23, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 23, 2020 I like almond milk on its own as it makes a refreshing drink on a hot day straight from the fridge. Also it is low salt and sugar thats why I took to drinking it instead of fruit juice. 6

RMweb Gold Popular Post Tony_S Posted March 23, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 23, 2020 Morning all. Lovely sunny morning here. We have just returned from the chemist with a sack of medication for Aditi. She was relieved to see it wasn’t crowded and they have tape on the floor to indicate where to stand. No need to go anywhere now. We had a long chat with nephew Josh last night. He is a locum GP in Sussex but will now be starting a permanent job in April. He was intending to look for a permanent post in June after travelling to California but that won’t be happening. I think this means he will be settling in Sussex rather than Enfield. Popular Post AndrewC
Moaning all. Another day in the boring borough. Tempted to rename the house "Winchester", hide out, unplug, and wait for it all to blow over. Seriously, my twitter feed is more like the script from 28 days later these days. SWMBO is struggling with her IT infrastructure while trying to work from home. Zoom is a pile of shite. She is getting quite frustrated. Almond milk: is horrible and cruel. All those baby almonds taken from their mother's, locked away in factories & strapped into teeny tiny milking machines for days on end. Chris: just make sure you don't mix the heat rub with pile or itch cream. Enjoy the day. 13

Er I've been here every day for the past week Baz, sometimes several times a day. T(h)ank you for your concern though. Is Specsavers still open? I'm sure I've seen Dudders and Ashers posting on other threads in the last couple of days. A nice sunny but cool morning here only blighted by the noise of various power tools about 3 doors away. Old Nick (that was his name) who lived there since the Ark died a few months ago and the house is now being gutted and "renovated." Mind you having seen the "renovators" and the way they seem to be working I'm not sure what the results will be. I think they are from the Sutton branch of CowboysRus. The Boss is still under the weather but no CV symptoms thankfully. I seem to be in remarkably good health. Kids (and grandkids) Facetimed Herself a couple of times yesterday so that cheered her up a bit. I'm on domestic duties this morning, after that I think I need to make some plans for the next couple of days so that I can stay sane. Have a good one, Prisoner in Cell Block GDB.
