RMweb Gold Popular Post Joseph_Pestell Posted March 13, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 13, 2020 Friday 13th. Exactly six months since my wife and I decided to separate and divorce. That was Friday 13th as well. I had hoped at least that the separation could be well-managed. But no. Today looks like being crisis point and I may well be homeless by Monday. So don't be too surprised if you don't see much more of me on RMweb.

RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted March 13, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 13, 2020 Morning all. It is rather sunny here. No idea about temperature though. Baz’s comment about the prescription reminded me that mine should be available for collection today. I don’t think we need to do any shopping unless it is something MiL needs should we be visiting on Sunday. BiL had a Coronavirus incident at work. He is a GP. Someone came into their surgery reception (not a patient) saying that she thought she had the virus and couldn’t get through to NHS 111 so came in. I could go on, but I'm about to parachute into the ice cream freezer.

It was such a lovely day.
RMweb Gold Popular Post Kingzance Posted March 13, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 13, 2020 Morning from a rather noisy NEHerts. It isn’t precipitating and is less blowy than yesterday - all positives so far. Happy birthday to our Fraggle Rock correspondent and best wishes to JP of Hereford and this parish in his quest to keep a roof over his head. I am not a candidate for cruises, having spent enough time on the briney in my younger days. I dislike overgrown aluminium cigar tubes because of the requirement to hang around in airports for hours on end and because of the cramped environment in cattle class whilst defying gravity. I know I could spend between four and six times as much and travel business class but see conclusion at the end of the next paragraph. SWMBO asked what I had planned for the day. I almost fell off my perch at the uniqueness of such a conversation starter and so, before I could stutter a reply, it has been decided we will go out somewhere (a destination yet to be shared with me). This is all well and good but then she will want lunch / afternoon tea out, either of which processes will result in: a) damage to my weight loss regime and b) depletion of the store of m*ddl*ng t*k*ns. Take care sufferers and journeyers, let’s make sure we all are around tomorrow! 4
RMweb Premium Popular Post PhilJ W Posted March 13, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 13, 2020 Morning all from Estuary-Land. Happy birthday to Neil and I hope you have a good outcome Joe. As I have mentioned my brother has and has had serious health issues. He will now spend the rest of his life having dyalisis and taking anti rejection drugs. Dyalisis normally takes place at Queens Hospital, Romford. I found out late last night that someone there has died of the coronavirus, very worrying. I will be giving him a call this evening. The SEERS meeting last night will be the last for some time as it has been decided to suspend meetings until further notice. IMHO a prudent move as three quarters of the membership at least are in the most vunerable group, male over 65 including yours truly. I was considering not going as I had a sniffle and a sore throat earlier in the day but that cleared up with the first shower of rain, hay fever! Now to get on with the day, be back later. 1
RMweb Premium Popular Post BSW01 Posted March 13, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 13, 2020 Good evening everyone Once more the sun is shining and the sky is blue/grey, but at least the overnight rain has stopped. I’ll shortly be setting off to complete the Trafford Centre Grand Prix, ill also put some fuel in the car as I haven’t put any in since just before Christmas and the re-fuel light came on on Wednesday! Sheila was threatening thinking of coming along too, but has since decided to stay home instead, so I won’t be long. Enjoy the day, back later.

RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted March 13, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 13, 2020 The council tax bill dropped through the door just now. Increase overall of 3.5% so not as bad as I feared. 10 2
RMweb Gold Popular Post The Stationmaster Posted March 13, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 13, 2020 Morning all, I've just had a 'phone call from Officer Jacobs of HMRC, with a rather dodgy accent - a real new one on me - who kept asking me if I was who he wanted to speak to so I asked him which office he was calling from. That took a few seconds of thinking about before he replied 'London'. R To which I instantly replied 'Wrong one, go forth and multiply' (actually a much shorter term of similar meaning). When a call like that comes but minutes after my fifth postal communication in a week from HMRC I was bound to smell a very obnoxious rat, which wasn't helped by his distinctly 'overseas' accent. The lad is working from home - at last- and will probably keep on that way now (hopefully). herself is today attending a little farewell meeting of the ladies who garden for the community (they are correctly addressed the Gardening Buddies) and they look after various p bits of garden in public spaces around the town. I suspect it might be quite a taxing occasion as all attending have been instructed to 'bake a cake'. I meanwhile will be tasked with the Tesco mission, aren't I the luv cky one (no I'm not - I don't even get a chance to sample her cake offering). Enjoy your day one and all- as football matches intended to take place this weekend increasingly fall by the wayside and the Jubilee Line in london looks set to be quarantined (ir rather its trains will be). 23

Crisis postponed for a bit! I'm sure we are all glad to hear that. None of us really knows what goes on in others' relationships - and I have always felt that the two people in it often only know 50% at best. Money and the bedroom bit are the two most famous reasons to fall out, but impossible in-laws impose a strain, and empty-nesting, finding there isn't much left once the bambini have flown, can also be a nasty surprise. Whatever the source of strife, I hope you emerge emotionally intact, and with a decent roof over your head, of course. As for civilised divorces, Sherry and Pete made a great success of it initially - he was scrupulously fair, despite being the injured party. But his new wife - confusingly called Shirin - hates Sherry, despite Sherry obviously having liberated Pete, enabling him to meet Shirin and remarry. Logic and emotion seldom meet, it seems. Bon courage, mon brave. 12 3

RMweb Gold Popular Post roundhouse Posted March 13, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 13, 2020 Morning from another pleasant day. Just been to the diy store to get the last stepping stone that I require to get up the garden without stepping on the grass. All insitu now so a cup of tea then back to the shed. Mum had her last day out with friends for some time as they have now postponed all future coffee mornings etc due to their age, most being well over 80. Other half just mentioned the Jubilee line situation. She said that the City of London is very quiet and had a bay of seats to herself on the train. All football now suspended. Pubs still open - that's the most important bit 15 2

Popular Post Sir TophamHatt
Another day, another BORING day at work. Decided to watch Ready Player One again - in my top 5 of favourite movies. I've often thought the bigger companies in our world like Apple, Amazon, Google, Facebook - any one of them could easily (surely?) make a virtual world like in that film. Scary stuff but I can see the human race heading towards something similar. The Good Lady is out with the Baby this afternoon so I get to prune my rose bush and plant some lovely but delicate pinky-purple flowered plants that have been surviving nicely over the winter. Might plant another one too called "Cobaea scanden" - a plant that produces purple flowers like cups and saucers. 19

Right at the very end. May have to have some pain killing scottish water later. My prescription came through. Instead of red and yellow ramopril I now have green and white capsules..must be the traffic light approach! RMweb Gold 81C Posted March 13, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 13, 2020 Morning All Overcast but dry After the usual long breakfast I done a few chores like take the rubbish out a passing neighbour made comment I said I had not been out for a week house bound with the flu she couldn't scurry off quick enough thank Christ she's our resident wind bag, still no word about where my car is parked I think all and sundry has realized free for all means just that in my books after the rude A' hole left the message on my car I don't even know who it is, Barry & Yvonne Stuart-Hargreaves have started to look down their noses at it is parked next to theirs probably puts their Fiat 500 to shame I thought better of going to the Basingstoke show tomorrow the halls are an unhealthy place it's cooking when you arrive by the time the halls fill up the temperature is unbearable and they open a side door to let fresh air in once someone has passed out and its badly laid out with numerous bottle necks where you have to squeeze by people as stands are set up too close to the door ways. Its now lunch time I better get on enjoy the weekend H.A.Vadigg . 17
