RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted February 3, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 3, 2020 Evening all from Estuary-Land. Ian, if you make a duplicate post you only have to click on the report button top right and then click on duplicate post. Don't worry I've done it for you. Making arrangements for the 'SEERS on show' this Saturday. The £10 layout will be there but I can see the owner being distracted by some of the other exhibits and I expect myself or the owners dad to be operating it. Thats it for now, be back later. 16
tigerburnie
Evening all, had a couple of hours in TOSH playing trains.....er I mean muddling, rigged up a separate programming track and changed a few loco id's, very simple process. Also had a go at weathering a coach, big areas of flat shiny plastic seem to resist the dry powders a fair bit, I am still looking for "dusty" rather than caked on muck, slowly getting the hang of it, but a distance away from doing a loco yet.

RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted February 4, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 4, 2020 (edited) Good evening everyone Another busy old day here at BSW towers. More laundry has been done today, 2 loads. In between these loads I managed to redesign the relay circuit board. I then did a quick stock take in the workshop to see how much of the stuff I’d got and how much needed to be ordered. Once completed an order was put in for the difference, which hopefully will be here before the end of the week and a start can be made on building them. As I need quite a few relay boards, (2 different types) I’m going to make a jig which will hopefully make cutting the tracks on the boards a bit easier, not to mention consistent. To speed things up I’ll also use my pillar drill instead of my hand held spot cutter. Goodnight all. Edited February 4, 2020 by BSW01

I have never seen a chimney pot closeup in real life. We had about 3" of "low cloud and breezy" on the lawn and road this morning. 19

Robert
Morning All, It's a somewhat colder morning in this part of the world. Can't say I'm that unhappy about it though - the temperatures have been ridiculous for February. Welcome to Lantavian, I don't recollect seeing you around here before. Time for a coffee. Have a good day everyone... 11
Popular Post chrisf
Good morning one and all Yesterday afternoon a sigh of relief could be heard. A little while ago, though it seems like ages, I was fearful that a cherished friendship was on the point of collapse. Then came a message from the other party volunteering the news that he has moved out of the ancestral home and is living with a friend in London. In a couple of weeks or so I will have something to send him by electronic means. Whether he will actually read it remains to be seen. He has taken against social media and for related reasons appears reluctant to go anywhere near his Messenger inbox. This has caused friction and difficulty. We shall have to see what happens but for now I am rather less despondent about the whole silly business than I was. These are early days though. Mike Stationmaster, thank you for clarifying what pharmacists are supposed to do. There is too much second-guessing around but I suppose that someone has to keep an eye on patients and their medication. I used to make an appointment with my GP to review my medication but this must have been a long time ago. Recently I had enough trouble getting to see a nurse and it was not until the duty doctor got involved that I saw anyone other than the doughty Checkpoint Charlene at reception. By the way, the lurgi has reached the stage of spasmodic coughing and being ready to depart the body but not yet. I understand that today is World Cancer Day. I live with prostate cancer and have done for several years. My oncologist, who I fondly believe to be one of the best in the business, is not unduly worried but I find it difficult to take my cue from him. My cousin had it for years with no trouble until one day it turned aggressive and took him, aged only 63. Sooner or later the hormone injections which have formed the basis of my treatment since day one will cease to work. The Prof almost rubs his hands with glee when he lists the other treatments available. I must try not to worry about it until my next audience with him on 21st May. Best wishes to all Chris 3

Mr. Bach can respond definitively but "pee'd-mont" is my understanding. (Not pee-ed-mon'.) The southern Atlantic colonies were divided into the "tidewater" and "piedmont" regions representing areas close to the ocean and the foothills of the Appalachians. The distinction between tidewater and piedmont really does go back to the colonial era with distinct ethnic, religious and economic-status immigration patterns. RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted February 4, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 4, 2020 mOORING aWL, iNNER tEMPLE hARE, . (end, ins, pgdn,Left Arrow, /right arrow, left arrow, home) nUM lOCK oN, 1034/647, cAPS lOCK Off. A reasonable nights sleep, 6.5 hours + 1 on the sofa.. The Boss used my computer in the lab yesterday, as you can tell from the above nothing was as I left it, even the monitor wouldn't switch on to start with.. Got in the land rover to come in this morning, turned the key and..... Click.... So i've informed SWMBO and taken the car... I think all the brownie points I got from inkle loom making have gone.. I'll have to put the Landrover on charge and find out what flattened the battery when I get home tonight.. I'm rerunning the bits that failed on the major system, this bit lasts 5 minutes, unfortunately the results aren't put into the file till the end of the section... which takes 3 hours... So in the mean time I've started on the system programmed for this week, the other system has now got a light on it which flashes when it needs something done, and I can see that from my lab 50ft away.. All systems will eventually get these lights.. Currently this weeks system is zeroing, which takes about 10 minutes.. This is being typed from the top of the new chair, which is a bit harder than the old one, but at least it's in one piece. I got my ear bent by her in goods in, for not collecting it yesterday... her message of it's arrival was sent ten minutes after I left .. The box it was supplied in had those plastic tapes wrapped round it, i cut them. ... and the bottom fell out of the box. yep that was all that held the box together.. Blue flashing light.. must go change a few wires and press the button for the next section. First measurement now under way, DC Zero of 100uA. Time to... take the measurement 0.0000036 19
RMweb Premium Popular Post jamie92208 Posted February 4, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 4, 2020 Morning all. The code in the dose has not yet gone away but is in retreat. Spent yesterday doing various jobs snd after a walk to the shop was greeted by darli g daughter with"Dad.. can you help the washer and dryer have stopped working". Turned out both were connected via 4 block with a 10 amp fuse to a single unswitched wall socket. Quick fix was change the fuse and tell her to only use one machine at a time. Then off to the leccy wholesaler and buy a double switched socket. This morning's task is to install said socket whilst the ladies go to a playgroup. It's a good job I brought a basic toolkit with me including a meter. I had a good evening at the MRC catching up with old friends. Anyway welcome to Lantavian. RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted February 4, 2020 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted February 4, 2020 (edited) Good morning all, Bright and breezy here with the chance of the odd showers. Shed visited yesterday but not a lot achieved. Story of my life layout trainset. Discovered I'd recorded Exeter v Quins Premiership Cup semi-final on Sunday so decided to watch that. What a cracking game with Quins winning 49-22. This means that following my post yesterday about being a former rugby fan due to Parisgate I have rediscovered my love of the game! I was born in WGC, lived in Bedford and Brampton (Hunts) as a child then moved to Morden then Sutton in 1960. Been in this area ever since and in this particular house for nearly 37 years. We've thought of moving away several times but various circumstances have changed our minds. Not likely to move now, we like the road and have a lot friends amongst neighbours and close by as well as offspring, grandchildren and other relatives. Just heard the dreaded words "we need to get a move on." It has been decreed that some extra shopping is required as Joe and Gemma are visiting after school. Have a good one, Ex former rugby fan of Sutton. Edited February 4, 2020 by grandadbob 4

RMweb Gold Kingzance Posted February 4, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 4, 2020 (edited) Welcome to this little enclave of calm and sanity Lantavian, I’m sure you will enjoy it, until those nice people with the funny jackets that tie your arms behind you look in. To the resident of Honeysuckle cottage, I’m sure your Metcalf houses will be concluded sooner and to a better standard than the CowboysRUs ones nearby. A load of logs was delivered last night, this morning will see them stacked after I have taken SWMBO and her sister to the Railway Station - yes it is a real one so no fear of the (recently) unseen Awl. Various other tasks have been listed for me to work through and, if I’m good, I may be allowed out to play cribbage this evening. Re postrate issues, I was told by medical people who were referring to father-in-law that there comes a point in age where the spread of the condition slows down and “ other things” do for you, not sure if that can be taken as a real positive but hope it at least brings a smile to the worried brow. My youngest is desperate for a KC Spanial. But with us all out at work or at school it wouldn't be fair. A very wise decision. However, if you were to opt for a dog, then avoid CKC Spaniels. I have known quite a few and almost without exception they suffer from nasal problems and breathing issues, or have bowel problems that require a special diet. Sadly it's all down to the obsession with 'breed standards' by the Kennel Club, which promotes very selective breeding to make the dogs look good, but they have no consideration for the physical well being of the poor creatures where there are issues that arise from breeding from a small gene pool. A prime example being the now commonly slope backed and hip dysplasia ridden German Shepherd Dogs. 8 8 1
