As a CFR, I need to know the physiological effects of both carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2). Haemoglobin carries oxygen around the body but as Peter wrote, CO has a chemical reaction with Haemoglobin and sits on the receptor sites. So the body cannot take up O2 and death occurs. My role is to spot the symptoms (including very low sats) and give high flow oxygen. The body produces CO2 naturally, which needs to be expelled. In fact the trigger causing most of us to breathe is the expulsion of CO2. CO2 is not a poison but does not support animal life. The fact that COPD patients have a different trigger means I have to be very careful in prescribing oxygen. Plants then absorb CO2 and release O2, thus there is a cycle of life. And so to the future of the earth. I think there are cycles. Cut down the rain forests and there will be a build up of CO2. So animal life will die off, plants will grow and the cycle will stabilise. The same with global warming, more water will be vaporised, forming clouds which will reflect the sun's warmth and cool the earth - another cycle. Flooding, and cities disappearing, and deaths will be just a by product of this cycle. And if it causes the end of humanity, then frankly my friends "aw, shucks". Aditi said it was 2C when she went out to do some gardening this morning. I was quite happy to believe her. I think we will be going for a walk somewhere near Waitrose. There are parcels to collect. Nostalgia/tradition would appear not to be only for the US car market. I had a video advert for a Jaguar F type. That seemed to be mainly about exhaust sound. It did mention something about closed roads use! I am more into comfy seats and quiet myself. The “S” setting on our Freelander according to Aditi stood for “silly” rather than sports or stupid. The sit in a saucepan type. The handle came off. I have offered to rivet it back but Aditi ordered a new one. She said if my repair is successful we will have two. And I haven’t repaired it yet! Having just been acquired by two cats we are back in the looking at insurance game, fortunately Poppy is old enough to br included in TVAW's 'Golden Oldies' scheme so we don't need to worry about her but Charlie is too young for that. So looking we went, and staggered away from enormous excess numbers on all those we looked at which left us knowing that routine stuff would be cheaper than insuring (non routine won't be of course). Then Charlie needed to go to the vet for attention to his paw but as it was like that when he joined us TVAW have taken over paying for that treatment. But Direct Line's charges have gone up massively and their terms, especially the excess, have got worse. In fact on a straight comparison we get better value on the Health Shield policy for us than any of the pet schemes offer (even if Health Shield is descended from an LNWR hospital insurance scheme via the LMS and then, when I joined it, it had become The Transport Hospital Fund). And whoopee - last night I got a good night's sleep without any cramp in the legs. I even slept through the lad's departure at getting on for 05.00 for an 07.10 flight from LHR to Vienna then train to Graz for three days of work there. Continued to be crazed here yesterday, potential let up in sight for today, but too early to tell/guarantee. The "normal" Mustangs (now having to be separately identified as they have created the Mustang e/SUV oddity) that I've rented recently, all DEFINATELY fall into the category of loud noise/burning rubber machines. Target market is certainly NOT for those wishing to use them as school kid taxi/grocery shopping conveyances 3 and cloudy driving in, reaching 7 later. That's all for now. Followed up by posing for some photography of the x-rayted variety. Vampirella was missed as this muppet managed to leave the bloody form on the kitchen counter. Technology saved the day when parking. Seems all but one of the pay & display machines were up the spout. The one working one had a massive queue. A couple of taps on the phone and I downloaded the (one of only a few I don't have already) parking app, paid, and left 20 people fuming at the machine. Only then did I discover the missing form. I was requested to prune some plants that Aditi couldn’t reach even with the extendable loppers. I then went to the garage and re-riveted the veggie steamer handles. So now we will have two. The pointer is wandering all round the screen clicking and getting into various folders. It's loading on a new version of Druva, a file backup system. It had better hurry up or I'll take over, I have to set this thing running for a several hour test program before I go. Alongside me is a set of resistors to calibrate for an Italian Lab, there is pressure on me to have them done as, its the end of the financial month this week and they are worth 270 euros each in cal fees. By three oclock I want to be leaving as I need to get to the specialist landrover garage to book in the landy, the garage is enthusiast run, not some big company. MOT, Service, some other things need nvestigation , and a front tow ball / pin I want fitted. And to top it all I'll be hobbling for a few days. News of impending repair to the leak in the flat I have the name of the poor sod who is going to get earache if things are not done soon. A trip round Horrorsons this morning one of the idiot shelf stackers wasn't watching what he was doing nearly rammed some plastic crates in my face the said idiot was pushed over he got up and said I should not be aggressive to him that was a red rag to a bull 1-0 to Bob, idiot continued to give me larrup 1-1, I got the manager out to deal with this young thug 2-1 to Bob smile wiped off the idiots face when manager appeared 3-1 to Bob this is the second encounter I've had with this odious item I doubt it will be the last I will just take a photo next time and send it to customer services PAH, soon to be a Chavda customer when I move. I hope this run of bad luck will end soon it's been my (as Madge would say) Horrrible Harryanus year I'm getting Pee'd off with it. Must get on TV to watch enjoy your day I.M. The useless c*ntpuffin of a GP I used to have ticked the wrong box and the radiologist started to prepare for the wrong foot. I was lucky and arrived between two artics, so didn't have to squeeze past.
