Morning all....Today is going to be a much better day....:D

The sun is about to rise above the horizon and not a cloud is to be seen.

Sat and watched 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels' last night before 'Waking the Dead'. We'd recorded the film from last week to save for such an evening. One of those nothing films that made me chuckle. Just the ticket before straining every element of brain tissue to keep the plot of WTD in some semblance of order. Someone has a fertile imagination...

Didn't hear from the owner of the other car last night. Perhaps she decided not to tell her husband and forget about the whole thing. I'm told the damage was only superficial, but it was a brand new car, so quite surprised really. Mind you, it's early days...

Have a great day guys, whatever you may be up to....

Anyone seen BoD these days? Either I have missed his posts or he has gone AWOL. Maybe I'll drop him a PM to make sure all is OK.

Me too Mick! Still suffering from jetlag from the time change.

Trying to work out if I can escape a long and pointless meeting this morning. It's being held in London and I was going to join in by phone (our budgets no longer stretch to travel to London very often for these things - Thursday's trip to Islay is rare in that respect now!).

Had planned an early night last night but didn't manage it. Maybe tonight?

pleased to hear it!

I saw that in the cinema when it was released! Somewhere about '89?

He was around on Sunday but no post yesterday.

Morning all.

I shall be mainly not doing too much today. I had a silly dream last night (not really a nightmare) and whatever part of the brain is supposed to suppress movement while asleep failed and in trying to avoid a maths teacher I leapt out of bed and banged my head. I've also strained some lower back muscle so moving between sitting and walking is painful but I'm OK when I get there!

It is sunny here at the moment but it is supposed to be dull and rainy later.

Morning All, Grey day out and about. It would take more than a Maths teacher to make me leap out of bed I think. Mind you I've met a few that would definitely cause movement in the opposite direction. Why are they all so young these days?

Had a couple of days of the sniffles last week and now I am stuck with one of those really annoying coughs. Maybe I should give up drinking out of wet glasses.

Have a good one all.

Cheers

Dave

Still here, still ERing - just don't get the chance to post as often on a weekday morning.

The chat, puns and other general drivel keeps me going though.

Zero oktas veering seven or eight later.

I'm finding specific drivel even better for focussing the mind............

Morning everyone; still have some patches of snow and ice on the ground over here (from last week's snow), roll on global warming.......excuse me, my massive SUV needs her V8 warmed up for taking my daughter around the corner to school.

Best, Pete.

When you were discussing snow blowers it sounds as if you have quite a journey just to get to the end of your drive. My car has the "Winter" option fitted but not the "Cold Climate" option as fitted to Sweden and Norway bound exports. I get heated seats, heated front screen, and heated headlamp washers. The Scandinavian model gets an auxiliary fuel powered heater.

Morning all...

We were sat on the balcony till after sunset last night – sure is lovely weather these days :) . However, rain and possible thunder are predicted for the afternoon today. We were thinking about doing a barbecue some time soon – perhaps Saturday or Sunday.

Have a good day everyone!

Morning All,

It was indeed a lovely day yesterday weather wise. I went cycling, and wore shorts for only the second time this year (first time was Sunday). There was a bit of a chilly breeze, but for the most part it didn't disturb.

As Dominik said, today is supposed to be less pleasant than yesterday - but at the moment the sky is blue and it looks like the sun will be shining when it comes up.

A heated front screen is an excellent addition to a car, and I am surprised more cars aren't fitted. My Dad had an Escort at one point and that was fitted with one. A really useful piece of kit. Admittedly, it does make the windscreen more expensive to replace though.

Have a good day everyone...

Morning! We had very heavy rain for about an hour last night. Still raining this morning. Off to work now then I'll be collecting Abi after I go to the gym. I'm building a brass parcels van kit so I'll do a bit more of it tonight.

Morning all, the ground's damp and it's a touch misty here but at least it's not raining!

Mick - when you say "draw dead people"...? Are we talking anatomy and cadavers, or art, portraits of illustrious bygones?

Had alarm set for 6, but couldn't shift myself. Will need to be up earlier than that tomorrow, have to leave the flat before 6 to check in at Glasgow airport at 7.30. It's mad, the flight's shorter than the required check-in...

Darling daughter 1 is going to medical school in Newcastle to draw either complete corpses or parts thereof. I am not sure what to think personaly, I have just given her the script for how to buy a ticket at a railway station because it is a new experience for her.Still she is 20 now so spreading her horizons is part of being at Uni.

Morning all.

Weather is quite warm but rather cloudy here.

No strange dreams last night so no more injuries to report.

I shall have to move the railway stuff I've been keeping in Matthew's room as I'll be going to Leicester on Friday to collect him. As he has one of the rooms at uni that are let for conferences he has to completely clear his room of his possessions. I don't think it will include any artwork of living or dead people. We did get a photo of a sign in Leicester from him asking what the other language was on it. it has been referred on to his Grandmother for identification. Matthew has quite enjoyed his "fieldwork" in Leicester as it has often resulted in getting fed. Best food so far was at the Liberal Reform Synagogue.

Morning All, Seems it is hump day. Plenty of oktas in evidence. Yesterday the only time the oktas decided to leak was while I was out walking the dog and then only on an area 1/2 a mile or so square where said dog is walked. Is someone trying to tell me something?

I have a 3 1/2 hour meeting in the office today which is a bit much. Not going to get any more baseboard work done at this rate. Still it's only a workshop to try and encourage folks to invent so not exactly arduous. I can use most of the time to do a survey of my laptop and figure out what I've forgotten to back up.

Have a good one all.

Cheers

Dave

Mick, tell the lass to save the train fare, we've got plenty of walking dead in Carlisle. Some of them might not actually be dead, but they smell like it! ;-)

Morning All

On a break at work, so just having a quick shufti and saying good day to you all.

Mick - that sounds a little gruesome, I've got to say - a trip across to Newcastle in a 156 (or I once got a 142) is a bit daunting - and I'm not so sure about what lies at the other end either.....

Quite warm here, but we had a fair bit of rain overnight - no doubt they'll be telling us soon that there's a potential water shortage. Otherwise not a whole lot happening chez 45156/30747 at the mo, so...

Regards to All

I seem to have reached a break in proceedings too, so here I am. (sad or what?)

I like the picturesque run along the Tyne Valley line to Carlise. Except when it is in a 142 of course. You can give me a 156 rather than a voyager any day of the week.
