RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted August 24, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 24, 2019 Morning all from Estuary-Land. Hoping that the parcel that I'm expecting arrives this morning otherwise it wont be here until Tuesday. 2 minutes ago, Debs. said: I so hope they went in the wash on their own and not with the family's whites.......or Hippo will be losing its protected species status. On the garden birds thread someone mentioned the birds flocking to an elder tree, I did advise not putting any washing out for now. 6
RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted August 24, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 24, 2019 Good morning everyone Work in the cellar is temporarily suspended, I'm making use of the good weather and making a start on the front door. RMweb Gold 81C Posted August 24, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 24, 2019 Morning All Patchy sunshine here today. The past 2 days have been stressful with the house sale & divorce issues I'm hoping to have a quiet week end and start a fresh Tuesday The last few items in the mancave to be moved the railway stock will be moved from an unsafe garage to the cave, the wardrobe in there which I keep bashing my elbows on going in and out of the room will be destroyed to free up more space. On the bird front here the Magpies have shifted the pigeons on and moved on themselves so there is no large air Bourne dumpers around at the moment the small birds still come in the garden for their cheese. Enjoy your week end all C. Hildoutt . 4 1

RMweb Gold Kingzance Posted August 24, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 24, 2019 (edited) My not so posh school made all pupils do French and Latin at first with the option to switch to French and German in Year 3. I found Latin boring so did Germany’s soon as I could. I can get by in France and Germany using something barely understandable to the natives. I have never been able to do that in Latinland as I have never been there. Today my eldest grandson spends as much time learning RE as he does science - what a strange world we now inhabit! RMweb Gold Popular Post Happy Hippo Posted August 24, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted August 24, 2019 Tomorrow the Hippodrome will become Scull Island. A rowing paradise for the crews of various Gigs. Jolly Boats and Luggers. Since it is a family event, there will be plenty of rowing, arguing and general dissent. Yes, that sort of paradise..... nothing to do with Henley's oars After all it couldn't be a pirate party if there was not distrust, deceit and double dealing. There will be a treasure hunt, cannon croquet, and other such jolololololities. We even have a secret stash of booty to be shared out amongst the various crews. Rations will include mouldy potatoes, stale hard tack biscuits and the obligatory weevils. All washed down with bilge water and grog which has been matured in the heads. The first ship docks at high water this afternoon so I must away to prepare a suitable welcome. 19 1

RMweb Gold Popular Post grandadbob Posted August 24, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted August 24, 2019 You could not make it up. The curse of GDB strikes again. All was going well and half the existing weed patch was dug up. Then the digger broke down - five minutes after the hire shop closed for the weekend and won't re-open until Tuesday. "Gui" the landscaper tried to fix it but only ended up gashing his thumb and clouting his nose. Claret everywhere. Had to use my new First Aid Kit for the first time. It hasn't stopped him though and he is even now out there with pick, shovel and barrow valiantly loading the skip.....what could possibly go wrong next? I'm just keeping out of the way.

Ian is the phone box still outside the pub that's on the left of your photo ? enjoy your day E.Y.Esagog GDB I'd move out of Sutton for the rest of the day if I were you. 12

Hmmm. It seems that the Irish beef you speak of was rather well and truly done! 7 hours ago, Kingzance said: 21 minutes ago, AndyB said: So.
