Popular Post chrisf
Good morning one and all The car duly received works attention yesterday. It was supposed to have had its first MOT as well but the service assistant was on the ball and pointed out that if it had been done yesterday the certificate would have expired one month early. The MOT will therefore be done a few days after my return from Sidmouth. Any admirers after a lock of my hair (!) are too late, for I had a haircut yesterday – my first since 10th April. I also bought a new pair of sandals to replace those which fell apart a few months ago. Most of today will be spent trying to fit the camping gear and other stuff into the car. As I load up I will have in mind the target that I set myself when striking camp of 1 hour 15 minutes between regaining consciousness and being ready to go. Do not be misled into thinking that everything will be stowed neatly in the boot at that stage. The tent will be slung over the back seat and packed away relatively neatly when I get home, by which time any moisture will have evaporated. Years of practice, folks. If I am really organised, used clothing goes into a canvas bag liberated from a Canadian railway company. I was issued with it because baggage goes in the baggage car if it exceeds certain dimensions. No-one thought to tell me that before I chose and packed my case! At least the experience prepared me for life on the Ghan. Heartfelt good wishes to Sandy and John. May the holiday do what is expected of it. Best wishes to all Chris 19

RMweb Premium TheQ Posted July 30, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 30, 2019 Mooring Awl, Inner Temple Hare, Normal sleep patterns for me 5.5 hours of broken sleep , followed by 2 hours semi dozing on the sofa.. Ben The Border Collie returned from being a Scare-dy collie this morning, and charged around the garden happily, he then didn't want to go back to the house, when I approached him to say he must, he did an impression of that photo of Kerry.. One cockwomble this morning, as I slowed to exit the NDR, slightly slower than than Normal due to a Mamil on his bicycle, a golf decided this old land rover was going too slow overtook and then realised the bicycle was there and jammed himself in between me and the bike.. 35 year old landrovers need a lot to stop them, I got very close to his Boot... The cyclist carried on and the golf turned left as I did.. One major systen has finished it's run, but there are 3 sections I'm going to have to rerun, that's about 3 hours work. The other system is progressing slowly but OK.. Time to.... Check the company spam..
RMweb Premium Popular Post jamie92208 Posted July 30, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 30, 2019 Good morning from a sunny part of the Charente. Here our pool was a decidedly chilly 28 degrees yesterday afternoon. How did I find that out. Simples, the morning and the first part of the afternoon was spent cutting the weeds round the house and various other bits of jungle taming. It now looks rather good after copious amount of sweat, and a little blood,(courtesy of the brambles) had been shed. During this time the 2nd roofer arrived and fixed the leaks, we hope. After that the pool needed a once over. The water was initially chilly but felt OK once we were in. After dinner I managed some modelling time and actually achieved something. Today, after some minor tasks, we are going out with some friends to visit a purveyor of fermented and distilled grape juice. I suppose someone has to perform this task. The plan is to go to the distillery then have lunch in a nearby town. Hopefully some more time will be spent in the shed this evening. John and Sandy, I hope that your trip to the south west goes OK, and Dave, good luck with the toe. The loppers are still on standby. There is plenty of liquid anaesthetic available locally. RMweb Premium Popular Post Dave Hunt Posted July 30, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted July 30, 2019 Just having muggocoffee before setting off to have bits of the undercarriage removed. If I see anyone resembling Baz, Jamie or the Hippo when I get to the clinic I'll run a mile, bad toe or not. Will report back later. RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted July 30, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 30, 2019 Apparently 'No More Nails' takes 24hrs to set fully. Hmm, it's had 12, so the wall plugs are not fully set, but are tight enough to allow the riser rail to be re-mounted to a sufficient rigidity. I've also applied NMN to the joints in the rail, to stiffen the whole thing up. We shall see how it all looks this evening, before I depart for the walking football kickabout.

RMweb Premium BSW01 Posted July 30, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 30, 2019 Good morning everyone The sun is once again in the sky and shining, according to the forecasts, it won’t last. Sainsbury’s Grand Prix will shortly be undertaken and on the way I’ll drop Sheila off to get her hand therapy done. Later this afternoon my cousin is dropping in to see us. It will be nice to see her as we haven’t met up for a couple of years so there will be a lot of catching up to do. Back later.

RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted July 30, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 30, 2019 Hello all. I didn’t get round to doing the lawn mowing yesterday, I did it this morning along with the neighbour’s front lawn. I finished just as it started raining. I think the plan was to do the gardening and then go for a walk at the RHS Hyde Hall gardens. However unless it stops raining I think perhaps we will just stay at home. Popular Post Ian Abel
Chewsday... Yesterday was what is announced to be the "start" of a flurry of activity given the guy who I deal with now is "24 days and counting". Somehow they've NOW decided on wholesale changes to a slew of reports, and I'm also scheduled to install software (not REALLY my job, but the IT department are naff) for a couple of folks who may be attempting to do the temporary changes this guy used to do. That also then entails me giving at least one person a "quick start introduction" to SQL and Crystal reports - there really is no such thing in spite of them asking if I "can"!!! Without some comprehensive training time spent it'll be a waste of my time, but since they pay the invoice, I guess who am I to question it. As promised - whether you wanted to see it or not - here's the ride for the week; Nice enough to have the top down last night and also this AM though later it may be too hot/sticky even... 26 /30 RealFeel ® and sunny driving in, supposed to reach 32/37 by mid-afternoon, and will feel very sticky apparently, if seaweed twirlers are to be believed. Onward... 19

RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted July 30, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 30, 2019 Yesterday I managed to complete the last few nightly bits of cladding above and below the shed windows bit today is wet so been working on 73202 etc inside. Now in Croydon visiting a few pubs that I haven't been in for many years before meeting an ex work colleague I haven't seen for over a year in another good pub but which also serves Wifebeater which he drinks like water. Ale range is also the best in the area so we should all be happy.

Used to (about 45 years ago) frequent the Builders, when it was one of only six pubs serving ESB on hand pump, at the time that Fullers were trying to move to top pressure or keg. My other favourite was the Dog and Bull in Surrey Street, but I really don't like Youngs Special any more - far too sweet, and a bit bland - when I first drank it in 1973, it was really bitter and characterful. I know what you mean about Youngs beers. We now rarely visit our local Youngs pub as they stopped serving Meamtime Brewery Yakima Red, a craft beer that was way better than the ales they serve. Tend to avoid the Dog and Bull for the same reason but the Green Dragon at the top of Surrey Street is very good. It used to be a bank so you probably wont know it. It is where we are meeting later.
