RMweb Gold Popular Post roundhouse Posted June 20, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted June 20, 2019 Good morning from a sunny Surrey. Yesterday the new consumer unit was installed in the garage and the new cable that runs through the loft for the shed was connected but isn't live yet as they will be back tomorrow to run the armoured cable to the shed and finish the wiring in the shed. Cant wait to have the permanent supply in there then I can set up the wired network fit an alarm and generally it it out for working in. I alos started the external cladding between showers and hope to complete one side today. Meanwhile my other halfs GW Worm was cancelled again. Earlier in the week there were numerous delays due to a broken down worm in the3 morning then signalling problems at new Cross Gate on her return journey. Glad I am not doing that any more. Luckily yesterday, she had a day working from home. 21
RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted June 20, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 20, 2019 (edited) Mooring Awl, Inner Temple Hare, A good nights sleep af 5 hours solid, plus just under one on the sofa. Scattered Showers they said and so it proved there were wet and dry bits on the way to work. Home was a wet bit, the jungle out there is loving this weather wet and warm.. more mowing is required.. There is not much chance of me loosing a perscription... The doctors is also the chemists.. I've used the house of strong women for some years and never had much of a problem ... till now. The previous order, diesel fuel additive ( reduces smoke, improves performance) was a 3 for the price of 2 so I ordered 2 and 2 turned up. A quick through the house email brought forth the missing Item. This time I ordered 6 units of 9 pieces paint brushes, really cheap and nasty ones for working with fibreglass resin as you can't clean them afterwards. I received... 6 paint brushes, so I contacted the seller through the normal procedure and they said but you have only ordered 6 brushes.. here's £5 off...So they sent 6 instead of 54 and reckon offering less than 1/3 of the cost will do it.. Complaint raised with Amazon.. Now onto other customer complaints, I've got a temperature meter in that I calibrated after a repair last November. It's in again for warranty repair... fault symptoms..no fault symptoms given ... Helpfull that.. For those that Don't know Belguim Shepherds ( Chien de Berger Belge) come in four colours / hair lengths, they are recognised as separate breeds, the below is ripped off The Kennel Club to save me typing. Groenendael: black and long coat; Tervueren: long coated and seen in red, fawn or grey, often with a black mask and overlay; Malinois: with a dense, short coat and with the same colourings as the Tervueren; Laekenois: a harsh wiry coat, red/fawn with some black shadings. Many people confuse the Malinois and Tervueren as a smaller German Shepherd. When we used to Show Rough Collies we were in the same group "Working Dogs" Working group has since been split into "Pastoral" Which includes BSDs and Collies, and the non shepherding dogs stayed in "Working" The MS software update that has been talked about on several threads has hit here, via our IT department, computers are needing resetting all over the place, anything needing access through the internet is slow with all this data being down loaded.. Well, after an hour and 15 minutes work I've ascertained that all the adjustments I did last time, are still correct. Now I Have the long task of measuring each of it's channels at 5 forward and 5 reverse currents. I suspect it will be the last channel I check that will be faulty, though it makes no difference to me, I still have to check all of them.. Time for the next current, before I bore you all to death.. PS a quick look, yes the last channel is faulty... Edited June 20, 2019 by TheQ
RMweb Premium Popular Post BSW01 Posted June 20, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 20, 2019 Good morning everyone It’s raining, what a surprise! Sheila is just getting her stuff ready for her Zumba class and will be leaving in about 35 minutes. Once she’s left, I’ll change the filter in the water jug then head off to the big orange DIY shed for some longer screws for the cellar door latch. Whilst I’m there I might as well look to see what they have there to tempt me to part with even more money. Later on this evening I’m hoping to go swimming again at Salford Quays, I expect the water will be far too cold for Jamie, but once you’ve been in for a few minutes, you soon get used to it. Back later 18

'Night everyone Dave Dave, The reason for the different height was that when I originally built the boards they were going to be set up on the landing and overlap into the old railway room above the OO layout so were about 110mm higher. They're now going to be used for the new OO layout and hopefully, very hopefully said he, new narrower boards for the O gauge shunting plank will be attached to the shelf brackets on the left of my earlier photo at about head height. What could possibly go wrong? Waits for the barrage of replies telling me that I am an accident waiting to happen. And good morning awl and sundry, The sun is shining at the moment but more rain is forecast later. Shopping to be done shortly and then I will head shedwards. Have a good one, H.E.Adbanger. 11 11

RMweb Premium TheQ Posted June 20, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 20, 2019 I don't know for certain but they would be perfectly trainable to do so, More commonly something like the Newfoundland would be used for water rescue. 9 1
Popular Post lightengine
The sun is trying to shine today up in blanket sky. Off to the nurse practitioner and the blood letting nurse for my wife. A 2 in 1 appointment to consolidate pain gained from going out. She's already had an assessment centre appt this week for her assault at work, so 2 appts in one week is pretty tiring. On top of everything already, her right shoulder is displaying the same pain that her left shoulder needed a bone shaving op several years ago. 1

Yes, she has just confirmed that. I understood them to be a different breed more like a St Bernard. 9
Popular Post Sir TophamHatt
Morning everyone! Gave the SM11 camera a go yesterday. Didn't understand why I was getting low res video until I looked to see how you can change it. Then to make things even better, I cut an end off an old wagon to fit it in, then reaslised there is a little clip you can use. Tut. At least it was an old wagon and I'm more of a passenger operations person. Even better: The Amazon parcel is arriving today, which means I can get a cover on the outside table. More scary: I have an interview for a Station Manager position tomorrow - eek! 3

The usual bin wagons dawn chorus with the lesser spotted glass and bottle wagon this morning. Thats it for now, be back later.

Not because they don't learn, but unless you keep them working, they tend to get bored. They also need to know who's the boss. Do not get lower than them in the pack order. RMweb Gold Popular Post The Stationmaster Posted June 20, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted June 20, 2019 G'day all, A rain spot has just appeared on the kitchen window - first of the day but no doubt it won't be the last. I was on Metformin for quite a few years but am now on something similar called Sukkarto although my dose was halved when on the Metformin because it is not kind to the kidneys and the 50% reduction seemed to have little impact on the diabetes number. The doctor put me on some other stuff called trajenta but I packed that in after 3 pills because of stomach pains (a known side effect and a preliminary warning of worse). But a bit of not too nasty dietary control also helps hence minimal alcohol consumption, no cheese (or very rarely), minimum helpings of potato (although occasional chip shop chips), and plenty of vegetables plus frequent consumption of prunes and mushrooms. We are currently waiting for the home made leek and potato soup top settle then - rain permitting - we will venture to Tesco for a few oddments and the 'paper. Faux Friday this week was really yesterday so not much today although spare bedroom tidying is now part completed with my stock of large sheets of foamboard now hiding under the bed instead of on it. A Tesco visit will also no doubt bring other amusement as the date of the 'Ladies Regatta' is fast approaching and many of the crew members can not only be seen around the town or walking up & down our road (as at least one crew is staying in this road) but some of them - particularly those from the former colony across the ocean to the west - have the habit of shopping in Tesco, generally wearing rather short shorts. How to make a senior male citizen happy but these things are not at all one sided because the real (mainly men's) regatta starts soon after with plenty on sight to gladden the heart of a lady of mature years according to Mrs Stationmaster. Enjoy the rest of your day one and all.

RMweb Premium Popular Post southern42 Posted June 20, 2019 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted June 20, 2019 ' Afternoon all from red dragon land. Jamie's hoopoe pic reminded me of my trip round the track on our new Hunslet, yesterday . Believing all was clear on the second curve, I was preparing to increase speed for the back straight when I saw half a dozen pigeons, in the dip between the bank and the track, in what looked like a fight. Seeing me coming, the pigeons flew off, and there on its own (I have since found out) was a gorgeous fluffy spotty seagull chick. I slowed to almost stop to let the scared little thing "escape" to safety among the tall grasses and other growth, screeching madly as it found its way out. 17

When you compare the Norwegian Sovereign Wealth Fund created from proceeds resulting from oil and gas extraction from their sector of the North Sea and how that benefits the citizens of Norway, it is even more embarrassing for the UK. 4
brianusa
Every ten years its time to renew our passports with varying methods over the years. Nowadays its comparatively simple, all done via computer and the internet. After the initial application on HMGs website, a response is sent to be filled in accompanied by those horrible PP pictures and not a few Pounds. A few days elapsed and you get an EM saying all is well and would be mailed soon. Sure enough, all arrived promptly via DHL from LHR to BFI and arrived just as advertised at our front door. The service certainly was amazing in this day and age. The most interesting thing though was that it was a UK PP and not the EU version. Somebody must know something the politicians don't! What does the view from your deck look like today? It has been blissfully pleasant in the Willamette valley (highs in low 20s°C, lows around 10°C) this week with morning clouds, and afternoon sun. I am not there right now but there was a threat of showers this morning. We need it. We are dreadfully short of rain this June and are headed for our 3rd driest recorded June. (Incidentally, the TV meteorologist went looking for any precipitation across the northwest a couple of nights ago. They only place was the Idaho panhandle.) 6
